10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System

Chapter 243: Solution To Everything

The call disconnected after Rovan relayed everything he could, like the fact that House Valeria wasn't as passive as Aegon believed. They had done many subtle things over the years to take their revenge, as Auranyth commanded them to not attack the demons directly.

Their subtle hatred towards the demons was also the reason why Humans could push them back and win so many battles.

In the end, Rovan just hoped that Aegon could remember their sacrifices and cherish himself more.

Aegon could sense genuine concern from his voice, so he didn't doubt his words either.

Besides, House Valeria had the longest history on the Triana Continent. No one else could outdate them, as they had survived the worst the continent had faced.

They were also the strongest for ages, yet not a single Supreme, as they called their Clan Head, had ever desired to rule over the continent.

They always remained as the guardians of existence, which fit what Rovan told Aegon.

Even minutes after ending the call, Aegon remained silent, contemplating everything as various theories passed through his mind. Then, he simply abandoned everything and enjoyed the warmth of Xiu's hands.

"He's technically not wrong, though," Xiu said. "If something happens to you, I don't know how everyone will react. So even if there aren't any shenanigans involved, you better cherish yourself."

Aegon felt there was more to her words, but he didn't understand it. So he just smiled and said, "It feels weird, Xiu. Having the responsibilities of so many people on me, I mean."

"Then forget them," Xiu shrugged. "You're not a Messiah of this land, Little Sun."

Aegon poked her head gently and said, "I know I'm almost an adult, but stop teaching me bad things. You know I'll easily get influenced."

"Teaching my son to care for himself rather than the world is a bad thing?" Xiu asked, raising an eyebrow. "Then I'm the baddest in this world."

Aegon shook his head. He should have expected a response like this from her. Well, he couldn't argue against her words anyway since even he agreed with them.

'It's all a mess.'

Aegon groaned and took out a chocolate bar. Yes, he brought this too into this world. It was a bit of a hassle finding cocoa beans, but fortunately, he did.

Tossing a small piece into his mouth, he offered some to Xiu, who happily ate it. Her dear son made it, so of course she was happy to eat even poison, let alone a delicious chocolate bar.

"Back on the topic," Aegon said. "This confirms at least one thing for us. Grandma learned more about this...prophecy, and that made her so desperate. Wait! Does that mean she was willing to throw away everyone's lives for me?"

Sadness flickered in Xiu's eyes as she nodded. "I can see her doing something so crazy. She was the polar opposite of Dad, or even House Augustus in general. I don't know how those two even fell in love."

Aegon felt even more grateful towards this woman whose face he only saw once, but still remembered very well. She had a deep impact on his life.

"In any case, this still doesn't answer my other question. Why did she want everyone to stay away from the demons?" Aegon muttered, throwing another piece into his mouth. "Does Opa know anything about this?"

"He probably has some guesses, but he's blinded by his love for her," Xiu sighed. "She meant everything to him. I'm not even exaggerating, Little Sun. So a promise he gave her is something he cherishes a lot."

"I'll have to deal with that too. Let him come back," Aegon said.

"What are you planning, Little Sun?" Xiu asked, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.

"Obviously something that you all need," Aegon rolled his eyes and said. "All of you are hurting each other for no reason. Yes, Grandma asked for me to grow up somewhere else, but she didn't ask you all to become enemies."

Xiu was stumped for words. She realised he was right, and in a way, Arnold had just been using her promise to mask his pain. He didn't even hate Arthur, but his face reminded him of his choice, which led to him losing his world.

"He's just been running this whole time," Xiu muttered in shock.

"Yes," Aegon sighed. "Besides, can Opa blame him for that choice? You can, but not him. He's the one who taught him those beliefs. Arthur Augustus grew under his care and inherited the love for his people from him."

Xiu's face contorted in pain as she sighed. "I don't want to blame Dad, Little Sun. And if this comes from you of all people, he'll break down. You know that, right?"

"I know. I don't want that," Aegon turned around and hugged Xiu. "I don't want to hurt him, Xiu. He's already been through a lot. But I don't want him to keep hurting himself too."

"What do you want, Aegon?" Xiu asked in a serious voice. "You know I'll always support you."

"Nothing major, really," Aegon mumbled, still hugging her for comfort. "I'm an adult now, and you two don't need to look after me. So why don't you forgive him too and welcome him as your family?"

"Aegon!" Xiu raised her voice.

"Chill! I'm not letting him enter my life," Aegon separated from Xiu and gave her a look as if she was stupid, which made Xiu mess up his hair. "I already have Father Xiu in my life."

Xiu paused, before bursting into a fit of laughter. The way Aegon called her father made it even funnier, as she forgot about everything and just laughed.

Aegon smiled seeing that and said, "What I'm saying is that you don't need to hurt yourself or others because of me. He can be your brother while not being my father. Same for Opa."

Xiu gradually calmed down and looked down at Aegon. "It isn't going to be easy."

"We're dealing with Arnold Augustus. Of course it won't be easy," Aegon grinned. "But I'm also his grandson. If he's stubborn, then I carry that trait too. Unless he openly admits he hates that idea, I'm not letting it go."

He wiggled his brows and asked, "So, how do you feel about getting your brother back in your life?"
