My College Teacher is My Children's Mom

Chapter 137 Liu Bo's Gift

The two of them chased each other. In the end, Second Baby won first place!

Lin Feng, holding Second Baby who wouldn't let go of the doll, was at a loss for words.

"Sweetheart, you like dolls?"

"How about Daddy buys you one next time, okay?"

Second Baby understood Lin Feng's words. "Okay!"

She was now the best speaker among the babies. She could clearly say "Daddy," "Mommy," and "eat."

Next up was Third Baby!

Third Baby was almost eight months old and still breastfeeding, so Lin Feng and Zhang Yuxi had discussed weaning her. Apart from milk, Third Baby was only interested in music. Luckily, Lin Feng had come prepared and brought a music box. This particular music box was made of plastic, so it wouldn't break if dropped, and Third Baby really liked it.

When the competition started, the other babies were already eager to go. Laid-back Third Baby, true to her easygoing nature, took her sweet time before wiggling her little bottom and starting to crawl. Perhaps in her view, when forced to choose between exercise and music, she would simply go on strike!

After crawling less than seven paces, Third Baby signaled that she was tired and stopped moving, her little bottom plopped on the mat. No matter how Lin Feng coaxed her, she was unresponsive.

THUD. Lying on the crawling mat, Third Baby decided it was much better to lie down. That's right, while all the other babies were crawling, only Third Baby lay on the mat, staring motionlessly at the sky above.

Everyone roared with laughter, finding this baby incredibly amusing. It was true what they said: multiples born at the same time really do have completely different personalities.

In the end, after waiting nearly a minute, Third Baby remained indifferent. Lin Feng had to pick her up and accept a participation award.

Liu Bo teased him with a grin, "Third Baby is so young and she already understands the philosophy that it's better to sit than to stand, and better to lie down than to sit!"

Third Baby yawned against Lin Feng's chest, indicating that she didn't like exercise and had no interest in paying Liu Bo any mind.

Next up was Fourth Baby!

Fourth Baby was introverted and seemed nervous seeing so many people. Because of this, he was placed in the outermost lane so Lin Feng could stay by his side. Seeing his daddy standing right beside him, Fourth Baby looked up and smiled at him. Fourth Baby loved to smile; if he cried, it was a sure sign that something was very wrong.

At the sound of the whistle, Fourth Baby looked around, somewhat bewildered by the babies beside him.

Lin Feng stood a short distance away. "Baby, come here."

Fourth Baby smiled and started crawling. When he reached Lin Feng, he thought he would get a hug from his daddy. To his surprise, Lin Feng moved further away again.

Fourth Baby gave chase, a hint of hurt on his little face. After this happened a few more times, the smile completely vanished from his face. Finally, he stopped about a meter away, unwilling to crawl any further.

Lin Feng stretched out his arms. "Daddy won't move this time."

Fourth Baby understood. "Daddy, Daddy..."

"Come on."

Originally in last place, Fourth Baby surged forward at the critical moment, finishing in fourth place.

Lin Feng held the little boy, whose face was crestfallen, and his heart ached for him.

"Sweetheart, Daddy was just playing a game with you. It wasn't because Daddy doesn't want you. Don't be sad..." Lin Feng kissed his forehead. "Good boy, Daddy is here and will always be with you."

Fourth Baby hummed in agreement.

Each participating baby could only enter the race once. Afterward, Lin Feng and his babies watched the other children crawl. There were quite a few interesting kids. When the official event ended, some parents organized another round of crawling just for fun, wanting to see their babies happy. The prizes weren't important.

First Baby was already champing at the bit. Charge!

Lin Feng put Second Baby back in the race, but she indicated she wanted to play with her toys and stayed put.

Next, the babies were all put together to let them interact and play on their own.

First Baby was a little social butterfly who could make friends with anyone.

Third Baby just wanted to lie down.

Second Baby was more interested in the other babies' toys.

Fourth Baby kept looking over at Lin Feng while he played, only continuing when he saw his father was still with him.

The parents were also mingling and chatting. As the most handsome and charismatic father there, Lin Feng stood out in the group. An elderly woman sat down next to him and asked, "Young man, you've certainly been blessed with many children."

Lin Feng cleared his throat and replied modestly, "This way, there's no need for a second child."

The old woman asked again, "It must cost a lot each month. Does your mom help you take care of them?"

"I take care of them all by myself." Everyone was shocked.

The old woman was startled. "Just you? How do you manage that?"

Lin Feng smiled. "My younger brother is in his senior year of high school, so my mom is busy taking care of him and doesn't have time to help me. Besides, I believe babies are their parents' responsibility. If I can take care of them myself, I will. I've been looking after them since they were two months old, and I think it's going quite well. It was tiring at first, but you get used to it."

The old woman looked at Lin Feng with newfound respect. "Impressive, young man! You've raised the children to be so plump and healthy."

"So you just look after the kids and don't work? What about money?"

Lin Feng smiled slightly. "I have my own shop, and I occasionally make investments, so money isn't too much of a concern."

The mothers present all looked on with envy. A man like Lin Feng—handsome, young, and willing to be a dedicated stay-at-home dad—who also wasn't short of money? He was the perfect husband in the eyes of all the mothers present.

The old woman praised Lin Feng profusely. "You're such a good man. I can see your babies are top-notch. You're a truly blessed person."

As the parents shared their child-rearing experiences, Lin Feng humbly sought advice, taking mental notes of everything.

After playing for a few hours, the babies were getting sleepy. Lin Feng still had to go home and cook for Zhang Yuxi. He checked the time. "I need to head back."

"Stay a bit longer! It's still early, only five o'clock."

Lin Feng replied with a faint smile, "No, I need to go home and cook."

Everyone watched Lin Feng's retreating figure, tsking in admiration. Look at that, a man who heads home on time to cook. Could he be any more endearing, handsome, or enviable? In comparison, their own husbands weren't just ugly, but they couldn't even take care of their babies. They were a bunch of good-for-nothings, utterly useless except for running their mouths.

Back at the shop, Liu Bo was taking inventory.

"Bro, what did you think of today's event?"

Lin Feng found it very interesting. "We could hold an event like this every few months."

"That's what I was thinking too. Bro, wait for me to tidy up here and I'll head back with you."

"Okay."

Liu Bo's parents had gone back to their hometown and bought some free-range chickens, ducks, and eggs. They were all purchased directly from the local villagers and were absolutely authentic. Liu Bo's family kept a few for themselves but gave most of them to Lin Feng's family. They never forgot that their son's current success was all thanks to him. So, ever since the Lunar New Year, they brought something back every time they visited their hometown. The gifts weren't worth much, but you couldn't buy real free-range poultry like this in the city.

"Bro, all packed up," Liu Bo said, still driving his van.

Upon returning to the villa, the babies were drowsy and nearly asleep. Lin Feng took off their coats and tucked each one into a sleeping bag.

In the kitchen, Liu Bo was holding two large woven plastic sacks.

"Bro, should we slaughter all these chickens and ducks now, or just kill one whenever we want to eat one?"

Previously, Liu Bo's parents would give them three or four at a time. After being slaughtered and put in the fridge, they would be eaten in a few days. This time, however, they had brought twenty-five birds. If they killed them all, the freezer wouldn't be able to hold them. Besides, they wouldn't stay fresh if they were stored for too long.

Lin Feng hesitated for a moment. "Let's just do one at a time."

Liu Bo nodded. "Alright. The yard's big enough, we can raise them here and eat them as we go. It's just that raising chickens and ducks gets a little smelly. I'll come over every two or three days to clean up for you."

Liu Bo was a rough-and-ready guy; a big boss like Lin Feng didn't need to lift a finger for such things. Tasks like slaughtering chickens and plucking feathers were time-consuming. Whenever Liu Bo brought chickens over, he was the one to do the prep work, and this time was no exception.

"Every time my mom brings these, I'm the one who processes them. I've gotten used to it over time."

Lin Feng was in charge of boiling water while Liu Bo handled the plucking.

"Bro, step back a bit. This smell is a bit overwhelming."

Liu Bo worked swiftly. In half an hour, he had plucked the chicken clean and stuffed the feathers into a trash bag to take with him when he left. Every time he helped process the chickens, he also got to stick around for a meal, so he was more than happy to do it.

It's not that I'm too busy to play games these days… the thought of playing doesn't even cross my mind anymore.
