Chapter 156: A Family of Five

As Luo De approached, the White Wolf immediately grew wary.

The White Wolf emitted a series of low growls from deep within its throat, clearly aiming to intimidate Luo De.

But Luo De's steps remained steady and his expression calm.

"My people have completely surrounded you, and they can take your life in an instant."

"Even if you are a Magical Beast, you can't stop the rain of arrows and spears."

Luo De stared at the White Wolf and pointed to the sky, "And then there's these two-legged Flying Dragons."

As if to coordinate with Luo De, Frost Thunderbolt flapped its wings and landed, both staring intently at the White Wolf.

"Even though they are still fledglings, you certainly can't escape."

The White Wolf crouched, its gaze sharper.

Luo De could feel that this creature was gathering strength.

"But you don't need to be anxious, I just want to have a good talk with you."

Luo De abruptly smiled,

"Oh, right, can you understand what I'm saying?"

To ensure he wasn't talking to himself, Luo De confirmed with the White Wolf,

"If you can, then sit down and we can talk properly."

"If you can't, then I'll have my men launch an attack and shoot you."

Luo De's tone remained calm.

But the Wolfhoof behind him felt a chill run down his spine.

Shoot if it doesn't understand?

This isn't what was said before!

"I'm raising my hand now. If you don't respond before I lower it, my men will attack."

Having said this, Luo De immediately raised his hand.

Then slowly began to lower it.

The air seemed to freeze, time stretched unusually long in that moment.

"Prepare!"

Luo De shouted loudly, his voice echoing through the valley.

At this moment, all the Hunting Team raised their Longbows, with shimmering sharp arrows aimed at the White Wolf.

The Spear Throwing Team also raised their spears.

If Luo De gave the command again, all attacks would instantly cover the White Wolf.

Even a Magical Beast couldn't withstand the enchanted blades of carefully forged weapons.

The heart of Wolfhoof behind Luo De leapt into his throat, tensely watching everything before him, praying for it not to be the worst outcome.

Just as Luo De's hand was about to rest by his side, the White Wolf suddenly ceased its attacking stance, elegantly sat on the ground, and watched Luo De with ice-blue eyes.

"Very good."

Luo De received a satisfactory answer, though still with a hint of surprise in his eyes.

"You can indeed understand me."

Luo De then curiously asked: "Can you speak?"

The White Wolf silently stared at Luo De before slowly shaking its head.

Interesting.

Luo De suddenly felt quite amazed.

Wildmen and Imperial People still need language to communicate, yet this White Wolf Magical Beast before him could directly understand what he was saying.

Spiritual level mind communication?

Seems a bit far-fetched.

"Why can you understand what I'm saying?"

Luo De directly asked the White Wolf.

This time, the White Wolf didn't respond, simply staring straight at Luo De.

Clearly, it had no desire to answer.

Even if it wanted to, it couldn't tell Luo De.

Luo De realized this too and didn't dwell on these matters anymore.

"Black Pine Ridge, the place you're in now, is my territory."

Luo De shifted the conversation, saying to the White Wolf, "Everything here is mine, and all matters are decided by me."

"I don't know if you understand, but this is similar to your Magical Beast territory habits, it's the nobles' rules of the Broken Rock Empire."

"If you were just an ordinary beast, it would be fine; I could treat you as prey, hunting or raising you would be possible."

Luo De assessed the White Wolf, continuing,

"But you happen to be a Magical Beast, one that understands human speech, so I can treat you in a humane way."

"In a better way to coexist."

Luo De felt that he'd been talking a bit monotonously, reminded the White Wolf,

"If you understand, just nod."

The White Wolf pondered for a moment, then slowly nodded.

Not sure if he was seeing things, Luo De even detected a touch of elegance.

"Very well, you make me happy by doing this."

Luo De smiled, leaning against a nearby flat stone, casually taking out some jerky from his pocket.

"Interested in tasting a bite or two? It's not wolf meat."

Luo De said, shaking the jerky in his hand.

The White Wolf nodded.

Luo De directly tossed the jerky to the White Wolf, who skillfully caught it and chewed slowly.

One man and one wolf, eating and silently gazing at each other, creating an oddly harmonious atmosphere.

"You're not afraid I'll poison you."

Luo De had a trace of a smile at the corner of his mouth,

"Since you can understand, I'll be direct."

"You can work for me, and I'll provide you with stable food."

"Simply put, I have a team, they enjoy living and fighting alongside wolves."

Luo De stepped aside, pointing to Wolfhoof and his Desert Wolf behind him.

Wolfhoof's Desert Wolf was an alpha wolf, but in front of the White Wolf, it timidly seemed like a three-year-old girl, standing beside Wolfhoof and not daring to face the White Wolf.

"You should understand, their current wolf partners are too weak, merely ordinary beasts."

"I want to make this team stronger, and those wolves stronger as well."

"And you happen to be such a strong wolf-type Magical Beast."

"Your bloodline can strengthen those wolves under my command."

"Your task is simple, sleep with some female wolves and produce litters of wolf cubs."

"Occasionally provide me with some White Wolf Blood, so I can concoct potions that can mutate the Desert Wolves..."

Before Luo De could finish, the White Wolf suddenly stood up.

Hm—

A growl again emanated from the White Wolf's throat, its lips lifted, revealing sharp fangs, and its gaze turned fierce.
