The training exercises started a little bit slow. Even though they just did a bit of training, the players were still somewhat tired from it so they took a little bit of time to walk off the light fatigue they were feeling and truly get into their rhythm for the match.

As expected, it was the team filled with the first team players that struck first. Biereth came deep to receive the ball in the middle of the pitch and with his first touch, he sent a pass to the left flank, towards George who got the ball under control with his first touch and started running down the flank.

When he got to the edge of the opposition penalty area, he took on the fullback marking him, but instead of trying to dribble into he box, he sent a through pass to his fullback who made an overlapping run to the ball and sent a cross into the box.

Biereth who was at the Genesis of the attack returned to finish things of as he managed to creep behind the defense, giving him enough space to set himself up for a header towards the bottom left corner.

The reserve goalkeeper went down immediately with his arms outstretched, but he couldn't get a hand to it. Biereth's header went into the back of the net and very quickly the first team took the lead in the matchup.

"Fuck". Tyler thought as soon as he saw the ball roll into the back of the. This was supposed to be his chance to impress the manager. Although he already had his debut promised to him, he was worried about what was going to happen after it. He couldn't just go back to being another name in the first team and not even a regular bench warmer. He had to do something and take the match by the scruff of its neck.

Over the next few minutes, the reserve team began to fight back. They were still players for the same club after all. Even though there was a difference in quality, it wasn't overly blatant and the reserve team managed to fight and produce some chances.

Again, the reserve team came on the attack. For the first time in the practice match, Tyler for the ball in a situation where he wasn't forced to pass back in order to keep possession of the ball.

He was standing on the left flank of the pitch, around the halfway line and a cross field pass was played to him. With his first touch, he simultaneously got the ball under control and pushed forward. He continued moving down the left flank unhindered until he got to the final third. That was when he faced his first hurdle.

Dennis Zakaria went over to mark Tyler causing him to slow down a bit ad he looked to dribble past the defensive midfielder. As he drove the ball forward with a much slower pace, he suddenly rushed forward, kicking the ball beyond his easy reach and then chasing it almost immediately, catching the midfielder off guard.

Singo, the right back of the first team players, and Tyler chased after the loose ball with Tyler ultimately getting to it first. Singo was right behind him however, and pressured him as soon as he got to the ball.

Tyler could feel Sibgo's frame behind him as his legs touched the ball he tried to shield the ball and move backwards a bit, but Singo was an unmoving rock and even pushed him further towards the touchline. Eventually, it for to a point where Tyler could only try to dribble backwards, any further with the ball and it would be out for a goal kick.

'Maybe a corner kick wouldn't be so gad'. Tyler thought and was ready to let go of the ball as Singo's leg lunged at it. At the last second, Tyler changed his mind and managed to move faster, using his leg to shift the ball away from Singo's leg and then kicked it in the middle of his slightly agape leg.

He also managed to free himself from Singo and chased after the loose ball that emerged as a result of his little tussle with the defender.

Lamine Camara also ran towards the ball, but Tyler got there just a split second early and used his toes to kick the ball to Ben Seghir (backup attacking midfielder).

As soon as he made his rushed pass to Ben, he started making a run inside the box. Ben understood the assighnent and lifted the ball over the top of the defensive line. Tyler had made a well timed run in behind the defense and got the ball under control with his first touch before firing towards the bottom corner of the far post with his second.

The Monaco goalkeeper lunged towards the ball hit there was nothing he could do to keep it out of the net. He could only watch as Tyler's shot went in and just like that the reserve team equalized.

"Yes boys!". Adi Hutter clapped as soon as Tyler's equalizer went into the back of the net. "That's how you fucking do it".

While Adi Hutter might've seemed biased, cheering the reserve team after they scored and then being silent after the first team scored, it was more of his way of evening the playing field. Playing reserves against starters was never going to be fair so moral support was his way of helping the reserves make up for what they didn't have in quality.

The rest of the first half of the training exercise progressed very smoothly. The starters came close to taking the lead on several occasions but the reserve team turned out to be very lucky. In the same vein, the reserves could've gone ahead but the football gods decided that the first half of the training match was going to end in a draw.

Adi Hutter allowed the two teams a few minutes of rest before sending them back out for the second half.

The starters once again asserted their dominance and in less than ten minutes, they got a big chance to take the lead.

Lamine Camara won the ball in the middle of the park and sent a through pass to the right to Maghnes Aliouche who has been quiet so far in the match. Aliouche dribbled his way to the edge of the penalty box and sent a cross into the box for Biereth who's speciality seemed to be using his head to find rhe ball. Biereth's head connected well with the ball and the striker directed his header towards the post but his accuracy was off and the ball went out for a goal kick, keeping the reserves in the game even if it wasn't for long.

A few minutes later, the starters went on the attack once more.

George got the ball on the left flank and started running down the wing. Using a series of quick one -two plays and pass and moves, he was about to progress the ball to the edge of the penalty box where he found himself one on one with Monaco's backup right back. His legs flashed over the ball as he did a couple of step overs and cut into the box. He moved the ball forward a bit before firing a blistering shot into the top right corner.

The goalkeeper for the reserve team didn't even bother to dive to save the shot, or rather he couldn't. He just stood there and watched the ball as it zipped through the air, swerving round the small crowd of bodies in the box and then dipping again, just etching itself into the top corner of the goalpost, rustling the net in the process.

"Goal! Goal!" George covered his mouth as he ran very quickly. He was chased by his teammates, even those in the reserve team. At that moment, everyone currently in the pitch couldn't help but show excitement and appreciation after George just scored a banger goal.

Tyler, being one of George's closest friends in the team gave his friend a pat on the back for the goal and walked back to his side side of the pitch while being deep in thought. He was happy that his friend was doing well in training, but he also wanted to play. He needed to play.

'Looks like I'm going to have to step up'. Tyler thought as he watched George break through the crowd that was still surrounding him and then walking back to the left flank of the starters, almost right across the pitch from him.

Adi Hutter made a change to the reserve team. Tiago was on the pitch now, coming in for the right winger who was silent all through our the training match. Tiago was playing through the middle as usual while Ben was out wide.

The assistant referee then blew his whistle and the training match resumed.
