Chapter 209: Telling Betsy

Kurt and Talia had finally come out of his house they had consummated their marriage. In many rooms over the course of the day before.

Betsy was there. A little surprised to see them both up.

"Umm, hello," said Betsy, "are we having a meeting today, I can come back."

"No, no, no," said Talia, "Kurt actually has something to tell you." She smiled up at Kurt. Who looked back at him wide-eyed.

"Ohh," said Betsy.

"I think you should go first," said Kurt.

Kurt and Betsy had done their normal morning routine. Betsy explains some of the numbers and processes. Keeping Kurt up to date as he did his daily sword training routine.

His sword was resting for now. He would have to find some way to practice Raykiel's powers. But there was too much risk to do it there.

Betsy had started to control some of her flame tornadoes a bit better. After Kurt had switched her practice.

"So," said Talia, watching him from her normal position, "my husband," she smiled, "are you going to tell her?"

"What is it?" said Betsy.

"Remember when you asked about that title?" said Kurt.

"Asked? That's not how I remember it."

"Demanded," said Kurt.

"She what?," said Talia, trying to hold back a bit of laughter.

"You know Baroness is higher than Countess," said Betsy.

"My title is a bit weird right now. Lordess isn't exactly a normal title."

"I mean technically it would be princess right?" said Kurt.

"Hmm, actually…" said Talia, "with Layla, and Valentine…you might be right Kurt, as you are more like Prince Kurt. I could be Princess Talia now couldn't I?" Talia looked up in thought.

"Anyway," said Betsy, "are we scheduling it? It doesn't have to be too big an affair."

"You gonna tell her or Kurt?"

"We are getting there."

"I told you…," said Betsy.

"That you wanted to be Baroness Betsy, and wanted Layla to do it. And this is granted, Layla is waiting for you to make a schedule or something. When you want, mostly how you want."

"Okay, so why is she so smug about it?" Betsy turned to Talia, who didn't deny it at all if anything smiled bigger and harder.

"The thing is," said Kurt, "you know what nobles do?"

"Yeah they get to grift everyone," said Betsy, "I was thinking of making a base of my own, I think I'm deserving."

"She's just walking right into it," said Talia laughing.

"What are you laughing about?"

Kurt looked at Betsy, "So just listen,"

"Okay."

"You know how some of my and Talia's marriage is political."

Betsy's face dropped, "You're not saying."

"Ohh but we are," said Talia.

"I'm not forcing you to," said Kurt.

"You're saying to become a real Baroness, I'm also supposed to marry someone. And soon."

"She is smart," said Talia.

"Who?"

"Some Hamlet lord," said Kurt. "And we have some options other than…they sort of."

"Which one? That's important."

"I mean you would sort of pick…"

"Wait, you're saying I'd get to choose," Betsy smiled with a little red in her face.

"Ohh my gods you have a royal crush," said Talia.

"So what? When does a girl get an opportunity like this?"

"You are taking this better than.." said Kurt.

"They are supposed to court me, right?" said Betsy pointing at herself.

"Ohh they will," said Talia, "maybe not the one you are thinking of."

"Then I'll arrange it with Layla," said Betsy.

Betsy had soon left. Kurt thought he would probably be doing that tomorrow morning instead of training, Betsy loved getting out of her own.

Talia still had a lot to do. The war didn't stop because of their wedding. What really stops, for it?

From the sky, Marty descended towards the two of them.

"I was told I should be more considerate of your meetings with others," said Marty.

"But you are insisting on finding a new location for a temple."

"Yes."

What Marty meant was that Kurt was supposed to escort him to his world and allow him to get started on making a temple.

Kurt wasn't sure how that would exactly work himself. But the reality was he didn't want to test Marty.

"I will go get Rico."

"Rico?"

"My wyvern, I thought we were flying."

"And you need some birds."

"Well yeah," Kurt said. Thinking back to the time he had been floating in the air. He still wasn't sure how he had managed any of that.

Kurt had gotten Rico and slipped him to Helmsbrig. Barney had taken charge using Harvey as his guardian.

He then slipped Marty through. And mounted Rico.

"I'm not sure where," said Kurt.

"I will know where," said Marty, "Come."

They flew out to the continent. Kurt was following Marty hoping that an angel would just be mistaken for another wyvern from their height.

As they flew Kurt couldn't help but notice their direction. It was directly towards the Shadow clan's heart. Kurt flies up closer to Marty.

"Are you sure you know where you want to go?" said Kurt.

"Yes, there is a place. Where everything should be right."

They passed what would be considered their border and went deeper into the shadow clan territory. But Kurt noticed it wasn't directly towards the main Capitol.

Eventually, deep in the shadow territory Marty started to descend to a spot on a flat meadow.

"Here," said Marty as he landed.

"I'm sorry sir," said Kurt. "This is not my land."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't control the world, you would have to defend this location."

"Are you saying I can't?"

"No," said Kurt. "Only that…I would have trouble helping you."

"I understand," said Marty.

"You do?"

"You are saying that you can offer what you do not have."

"Yes."

"Horus's temples work a bit differently."

"What do you mean?"

"Worry not, I will not consider it a crime for you to fail to defend the temple. To conquer a temple of Horus is a worthy task. You may leave this to me."
