"Huh… it's not a Tyrant," Enzo sighed, eyes narrowing as he stared at the massive beast sprawled before him.
It should have been familiar. The frame was nearly identical—the hulking body, the stretched hide, the rows of long, serrated teeth still stained dark. Yet something was wrong.
Its eyes were empty.
Not lifeless—soulless. As if whatever once inhabited the creature had already been torn away, leaving behind nothing but an obedient shell.
A translucent screen flickered into existence before him.
[Batman]
[Rank: Great Terror]
[Special Ability: Deathly Vigor]
Enzo exhaled slowly.
"Great Terror… figures."
His gaze shifted from the corpse to the faint, pulsating shard hovering above it—a shipon. The object radiated a dull, nocturnal glow, cold and heavy in the air.
That shouldn't be possible.
Shipons were notoriously difficult to obtain. Even veteran weavers struggled with them, and among the ranks, it was common knowledge that only shaman-type weavers could reliably extract one from a kill.
And yet—
"I'm not a shaman," Enzo muttered.
Still, the shipon drifted toward him as if drawn by an invisible pull, sinking into his body without resistance. There was no pain—only a chilling sensation, like shadows threading themselves through his veins.
A sharp pulse echoed in his chest.
Another screen unfolded, overlapping his vision.
His stat interface had changed.
Where once there had only been attributes and skills, a new section now sat at the very top—bold, unmistakable.
[Title Acquired]
[Night Monarch]
Enzo froze.
"…A title?"
The words carried weight. Not the kind that boosted numbers or unlocked skills—but the kind that declared authority. The surrounding shadows seemed to deepen in response, bending ever so slightly toward him.
Enzo clenched his fist, heart pounding.
Whatever had happened back there—whatever he had taken from the Great Terror—it had gone far beyond a simple kill.
And something in the darkness had noticed
"Wait—what's that description?
Enzo's eyes flicked back to the floating text, his breath catching as he read it again.
[You have killed a corrupted night creature—your own kin.][Henceforth, for every one of your kin liberated from corruption, you will gain a new follower.]
"…My kin?"
The word echoed uncomfortably in his mind.
Does that mean…?
His gaze drifted to where the massive corpse lay, already beginning to dissolve into shadowy motes. If the system was telling the truth, then the creature hadn't just been some random terror—it had belonged to the same line as him. Whatever Night Monarch truly meant, it wasn't just a title.
It was a bloodline.A dominion.
Enzo raised his hand and dismissed the remains of the beast. The shadows obeyed instantly, folding inward and swallowing the last traces without a sound.
He exhaled.
"I'm overthinking again…"
Right now, answers wouldn't change anything. His body ached, his mind felt stretched thin, and the lingering chill of the shipon still clung to him like frost.
Rest.That was all he needed.
And so, he slept.Meanwhile—on the dark side of the city—
A sudden, coordinated retreat was underway.
Institute forces pulled back in disorderly ranks, abandoning entire districts as if fleeing an invisible tide. Even the presence of the Four Holy Weavers wasn't enough to stop it. Injured, bloodied, and grim-faced, they withdrew toward the outer edges of the city, defensive formations tightening around them.
The air trembled with suppressed fear.
"Yup—haaaa," a mocking voice drawled from the rooftops."It's that shithead again. Thinks it can bully us—haaa."
A snubby black horse stood atop a collapsed tower, one hoof raised as it pointed outward at Master Seth and the three wounded Holy Weavers below. Its eyes gleamed with malicious intelligence far too sharp for a mere beast.
Beside it loomed a massive bull minotaur, towering over the ruined street. Heavy armor encased its muscular frame, etched with ancient runes, and resting against its shoulder was a colossal greataxe—its blade nicked and stained, yet humming with restrained violence.
The minotaur snorted, breath steaming.
"So," it rumbled, voice like grinding stone,
"What do you apes have to say for yourselves?" The minator asked hot smoke purring form its nostrils.
It had been sleeping previously when the humans came, their havoc hadn't even woken it up, if not for this naughty horse he would have missed a chance to beat back enemies.
"Another king" master Seth sighed a bit annoyed.
It still wasn't a demi god, however in its hand, it held a weapon no weaker.
"So it's true that Deamons can also hold echos" Master white smiled.
They hadn't been Tyrants for long, but the word Deamon wasn't new. They knew it, just like everyone did, through stories that spread fear through the hearts of men.
Now that they had the chance to actually face them, he had to say, they didn't disappoint.
Ruthless with powers that skewed the mind.
"Quit admiring me, I'm not some specismen, I'm here to warn you" the beast suddenly spoke.
"Send your little ones in here, they will be attacked but never in a co-ordinated manner, you may stay at the edge to ensure that, but the moment you try to kill indiscriminately, I'll personally come out here and fuck your mothers, do you understand?" The minator said calmly but with words that shook the mind.
What kind of deal was that? Let them come and be attacked by tyrants? As long as it wasn't co ordinated then it's okay? Was this things brain fried?
"Shit calm down, I'm not stupid" the minator suddenly shook its head.
"Down in that castle and the villa behind, there are treasures that you would love. They have the ability to change your destiny is all I'm allowed to say but it's only for those under the tyrant level"
He paused
"Opportunity fortunes those who are fortunate" it added as if telling the lower levels that the holy weavers would try to stop them but they shouldn't agree.
"As for you lot, I have a message from Jonsar, he says your Demi god friend is interesting, he wanted to go a few more rounds with him. If he honors the invitation we will randomly pick one of the young ones to enter the castle directly"
