In the skys just above rune city's dome, a pitchblack shuttle came into view hovering right next to the energy dome.
"Master" right outside four figures stood gazes locked on the shuttle with bows of respect and a tinge of shame.
A week ago, they had raided the dark side of rune city, and there they stood their ground with a Demi god weapon as their support. This was a push to take the city and destroy the dome that kept them imprisoned
However they were soon routed by after a long stretch of fighting for three cycles.
"It's okay, you did well. If this doesn't work I'll send it another Demi god weapon," In the shuttle, the grand regent spoke calm and serious.
He wouldn't sit back and watch anything happen to those under him, they were too valuable. With all that was going on Galafray he still came here, that was what Inkous was about.
"Yes master" they all bowed one after the other again receiving a nod before they turned back and flew down to the crowd of weavers standing below.
They then watched the shuttle fly to the front of the city as the moving city came to a magical halt from out of nowhere.
"Are they going to fight again? Should I have the kids take cover?" One of the members of cloaked shade said calm and collected trying to understand the situation.
He didn't know what the exchange up there was so he couldn't tell what was about to happen.
"I hope not, that old man can be unpredictable" master Seth shook his head and continued to look forward as a man far away in the distance stepped out of a shuttle and approached a massive sand worm.
"Hello old friend, you asked to see me?" Master inkous spoke his words filled with a playful authority.
"Friend? I haven't been called that in a long time"
The beast spoke telepathically into inkous's head a stinging pain followed as those in the surroundings also heard it.
"That's rude," inkous frowned annoyed at the sudden invasion of his mind. Even he could speak telepathically this was just uncalled for entering someone's mind like this
"Apologies, I thought we were friends" the giant sand worm spoke then as if chuckling it added.
"I am unable to speak, this is just a temporary body, the 'am' speaking is long since dead" the creature responded with a gentle tone.
It's consciousness wasn't actually its own, it was currently being controlled by a spirit from long before its birth, the true guardian of rune city.
"Oh" Inkous seemed to understand and nodded. He had wondered how this thing was able to survive so long. If he was correct, this world had been consumed by corruption at least 5 milinia ago.
"Anyway, your divine power is from the concept of creation right? Very ancient and thin, but I'm right yes?" The giant sand worm inquired.
When he fought against Inkous the last time he had sensed an ancient aura that confused him but after a while he was able to understand where it was from.
As for master Inkous, the moment those words escaped the sand worms mouth he severed the connection with everyone else, leaving only himself and the beast.
"Oh? Was that a secret? Isn't it obvious to everyone around you?" The sand worm was taken aback by this action but simply shook it off.
"Don't worry about that, it's my business" Master Inkous shook his head with his frown.
Creation wasn't the problem, it was a known concept in human society, abiet having only three Demi gods at this level it was quite known.
However the actual branch of creation was a secret, one he wasn't willing to share with anyone.
"Okay, I was wondering if we could have an exchange of services? I want you to create a body for me so I can see my homeworld one last time before I dissipate" the creature said straightforwardly.
It had been here for far too long on the bequest of the red god, leaving was one of its wishes before it left this body.
"A body? You're a Demi god, you should understand that it's impossible to fit your soul in a body" master Inkous shook his head.
A Demi god was a fully formed being just one step away from the divine, their body's were sacred and unique, without it they couldn't last in any body.
"Hehe, you should know im already on the path to destruction when this journey is over….i will be gone, it wouldn't hurt to quicken the process to see the only thing I recognize" the beast affirmed.
It and rune city were on their way to a place and at the end, its existence would no longer be needed.
"Hmmm" Inkous frowned seemingly understanding something.
"It's not impossible, but with your strength it will last for 2 weeks tops, however I won't do it for the original price" Inkous seeing an opportunity spoke up.
They had agreed to take one person into the castle for this meeting, but the request was not part of the deal, he had to sweeten it as creating a body of such capacity was not just hard for him.
It was extremely difficult for Weavetech too.
"Naturally, two candidates for the castle" the creature nodded and gave its proposal.
The castle was an opportunity that anyone in ancient Galafray would kill for, it contained a myriad of treasures and inheritances that would shape one's future till demi god stage.
"Two candidates for the castle what about the villa? Are we not good enough for the villa?" Inkous laughed as if joking, but his words were dead serious.
"The villa is not mine to give, only those who pass the castles test will even qualify to step in and even then only Tyrants and Demi gods can step in" the sand worm said then turned around to look at the buildings in the city
This place was once a divine city now look at it…
"Only tyrants and Demi gods" Inkous paused a clenched feeling tightened his heart.
Tyrants and Demi gods only indicated that whatever was in there was probably divine.
"Don't covert what belongs to the divine"
Suddenly whike Inkous was in deep thought, the sand worm drew him out of it and shook his head.
There was nothing but death for whomever tried to defy the rules and enter the villa without permission. Even it would be killed.
"I don't, I have too much on my plate to even bother" Inkous shook his head, he still needed to take this planet, going on a suicidal mission for the divine was not in his dictionary….at least not yet.
Maybe after
"Okay, three individuals for the castle, one of them has to be a tyrant" master Inkous finally proposed his own requirement.
"No issue," the beast readily agreed.
In truth, it could allow up to five. The only problem was that most would not survive the challenge. The bodies of this era were too fragile, their wills too weak. Still, the deal cost the creature nothing—not flesh, not essence, not even time. Whether they lived or died meant little to it.
"One last thing," Master Inkous said, already turning as if to leave, though his instincts urged caution.
The beast paused, its massive form shifting beneath the sand.
"Where exactly are you heading?"
For the first time, the creature answered without mockery. It spoke of the place it was bound for, of how it would meet its end there. A destination worthy of death. That alone told Inkous everything he needed to know—wherever it was going was no ordinary place.
"I'm going to drown this city. That is its fate," the sand worm said.
Its voice carried no malice, no triumph—only certainty. As if the event had already happened and it was merely reciting a memory. Then, without waiting for a response, its eyes turned white, glassy and lifeless, and its colossal body slowly sank back into the sand, vanishing as though it had never been there at all.
Without a second thought, Master Inkous boarded his shuttle and left the area, the engines flaring to life. A deep frown settled on his face as the desert stretched endlessly below him.
Drown the city.
There was only one true water source on Galafray.
The Black Sea.
"Looks like we'll have another situation soon," he muttered, as the shuttle pierced the clouds and flew past the city, climbing toward the ships waiting in orbit.
"Let's just hope whatever is in that castle is worth all of this" master Inkouss lone voice resounded in the skies.
Inside the barracks
"Enzo my friend, been a whole minute, are you interested in hunting something big?" A group of young men and women entered Enzo's room a familiar smile on their faces.
"We'll made it worth your while, cross my heart and wish to die"
It was Titus again!!
