"What's up with this kid?"
"That sounded more like a threat to me."
"Who is this shithead?"
In the crowd, several students grumbled at Enzo's choice of words; they were extremely provocative to the group as a whole. However, when they noticed his gaze pan away from them and land on House Snowfall, they frowned even deeper.
"He's targeting House Snowfall?" One of the other students questioned, raising his eyebrows as they saw the hate in Enzo's eyes.
It seemed like this was more calculated than they thought. Did this kid have some kind of grudge with the House of Snowfall? And what gave him the gall to challenge the most successful club in the institute?
Of course, not everyone knew Enzo; to most, he was just a nobody, but some—especially those who were present for his entrance test—knew him.
"That's the rumoured Great Star."
Suddenly, someone spoke from the crowd, causing everyone to look at the source.
"That's Gale," someone muttered, shock filling his eyes as he turned to look at Enzo.
If it came from a nobody, they could just dismiss it. But Gale belonged to the Ice Lake Club, one of the three most influential clubs in the institute.
'So, you guys finally couldn't take it anymore? Being a bully can be addictive, hehe.'
In his mind, Gale laughed at Snowfall's problems. There was an unspoken agreement amongst them to try their very best to recruit the Great Star or the Twin Star; no one wanted these two turning against one club or the other.
Unfortunately, Snowfall couldn't take rejection—they ended up offending the Great Star, it seemed.
'Good, more for us.'
Gale smirked as the crowd burst into speculations.
However, Enzo didn't seem moved by their talks; his gaze merely focused on the bulky young man in front of the Snowfall family.
"I would kindly ask young sir to join me in this display of knowledge."
Enzo spoke directly to the bulky-looking young man in front of the Snowfall group, calling him out in front of everyone.
If he said no now, it would be an extreme embarrassment to himself and House Snowfall as a whole.
"My pleasure." Without as much as a tingle of hesitation, he stepped forward and into the battle circle.
"Now, remember, this is a two-way thing. Both of you are fighting to show the class what you've learned so far. Whoever wins is justified," Master Seth explained, confirming the willingness of both parties to engage in this.
They both nodded, a tinge of focus and deadliness spilling into the air.
"Okay, for the first show, show me the principle of disableme—"
Master Seth spoke, but just as he was about to finish—
Woosh!!!
Enzo pushed forward like the wind and struck him directly in the chest, causing a breath full of air to forcefully exit his lungs.
Enzo was focused most times on his missions, but to say he wasn't serious about his studies would be a lie.
The first method of disablement was exhaustion. The key was to push your opponent so far into his limits that he had no choice but to give in.
What Enzo did right now was the most direct shock method to quickly achieve that. A second later, he sent a knee kick to the lower abdomen and, with the recoil, found his way behind him.
The young man didn't know when his body suddenly became light as Enzo picked him up from the ground and suplexed him directly into it.
"Huuu… huuu…" Trying to catch his breath, the young man noticed that once again, Enzo's arms coiled around him—this time not for a strike but to constrict him like a snake.
Enzo was trying to knock him out by suffocation.
"Smart combination! Everything melds properly and in the right order," Master Seth complimented.
Enzo's takedown looked like an elder breaking down a child throwing a tantrum and spanking him.
It was effective and embarrassing.
"Huuuu…" Struggling to stay conscious, the young man gasped for air. Unfortunately, everything had happened too suddenly; he couldn't even think now.
As he felt his gaze blurring, however, Enzo released him suddenly and walked to the side, where he stood unmoved.
He watched him slowly get back his breath and stand up without making a move—and so did the crowd.
It looked like Enzo didn't have the balls to finish him off in front of Master Seth and the other members of Snowfall.
Or so they thought.
The moment the bulky young man stood up properly, Enzo flashed forward again, this time not holding back.
He first went for his joints, striking everywhere that would make one weak or unable to attack.
"Notice how he follows my methods with improvisation? If you can incorporate your ideas into my teachings, you'll be unstoppable…" Suddenly, Master Seth began to use the active fight as a case study to explain to the other students what he expected of them.
This was utter humiliation for the House of Snowfall, which had to stand there and watch this.
A member was basically being used as a guinea pig for a class lesson.
At the end of the exchange, Enzo was not only able to exhaust his opponent, but his surgical and precise strikes removed all possibilities of resistance.
"Thank you for your patience."
After beating him to this stage, Enzo pulled back and bowed at the limp body on the ground.
"Good, someone take the boy to the infirmary. His joints just need to be reset, and he needs to get some rest. No real damage done," Master Seth said, seeing that the battle was over. He nodded and commanded his attendant.
After the bulky young man was carried out, he resumed his lecture, breaking down some things further to the group.
However, he soon noticed something was off from the crowd's expressions.
Instinctively, he looked back to see Enzo still standing inside the circle.
As they locked gazes, Enzo bowed at him and said some words that left him completely dumbfounded.
"I would like to demonstrate the principle of disarmament too."
