This Summoner Is Too Powerful

Chapter 238: The Ugly Little Wolf

Fortunately, this time the plunge wasn't too deep, so the little Cloud Wolf quickly pulled its head out.

[Roar... Pop!]

It crouched low and issued an odd, low growl to them.

Ugly as it was, the little creature had a certain charm.

[Eat!]

At that moment, Bo Bo seemed intrigued, bouncing happily up to it.

He pulled out a fresh carrot and held it up to the little Cloud Wolf's mouth.

"You silly creature, wolves don't eat carrots!"

Li Pu couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.

[Eat!]

[Pop?!]

But Bo Bo ignored Li Pu's words and forcefully shoved the carrot into the little Cloud Wolf's mouth.

"Hey, that's a bit rude!"

Li Pu couldn't just stand by and watch, so he quickly instructed the straw man to pull Bo Bo away.

After all, wolves should not be humiliated; feeding a wolf a carrot seems a bit insulting.

"Normally, a wolf should eat this."

While speaking, he stepped forward and retrieved a piece of magical beast's hind leg he had hunted earlier.

The owner of this hind leg was a magical beast known as the Wall-Ramming Sheep.

Despite its sheep-like appearance, it was highly aggressive.

Besides enjoying ramming people, it liked to ram flat surfaces, like walls.

It was said to often inexplicably charge at the school's outer walls, much to the annoyance of the school's engineering department.

The Wall-Ramming Sheep also originated from East Wilderness Ridge, and its tender meat was favored by many carnivorous summoned beasts.

This hind leg was prime meat, which he had specially carved out to give to the old dog at the South Gate.

But having encountered the little Cloud Wolf, he felt a sudden urge to feed it.

[Roar Pop!]

To his surprise, when faced with the sheep leg near its nose, the little Cloud Wolf showed a fierce, though adorable, snarl.

After issuing a pointless threat to Li Pu, it turned its head away.

This scene brought a gentle smile to Li Pu's face: "I advise you best not to take kindness for granted."

The straw man and Bo Bo were watching, after all; what's the story with a wolf that doesn't eat meat?

Surely it can't be that my sheep leg isn't tempting?

Thinking this, he reached out to pry open the little Cloud Wolf's mouth.

[Grass!]

Straw Man: Summoner, don't! Doing that would make you no different from a Head-Gnawing Beast!

Thankfully, the straw man's advice halted Li Pu's actions.

"You disobedient child."

He reluctantly put away the sheep leg and said regretfully, "If you don't eat, how will you grow up?"

"If you don't grow up, how will I cut off your tail?"

[Pop?!]

Though unable to understand human language, the little Cloud Wolf sensed great malice from the gentle tone.

"How about helping me lure the other Cloud Wolves here?"

"I'll find you tastier meat, okay?"

Suddenly, Li Pu thought of a new approach.

[Roar Pop!]

But the little Cloud Wolf didn't pay any attention, treading unevenly out of the sand pile.

It paused at the edge of the sand and trembled slightly.

[Grass the grass!]

Straw Man: Summoner! This black dog pooped!

With the straw man's cry of surprise, the little Cloud Wolf dropped a pitch-black clump.

"Forget it, let it be."

Li Pu, helpless and reluctant to watch, waved dismissively.

[Roar Pop!]

Shh shh shh!

The little Cloud Wolf, having completed its business, kicked some sand over the pile with its hind legs, cast a smug glance back at them, and then proudly disappeared into the rubble.

The rubble contained the corpses of the Cloud Wolf pack, no longer suitable for ambushes, so Li Pu, along with the straw man and Bo Bo, began to move.

Throughout the night, they prowled around the Wolf Corridor, specifically hunting the Cloud Wolves.

They tried several tactics, including the straw man bait plan 1, straw man bait plan 2, straw man bait plan 3, and so on.

There's no denying Bo Bo's involvement significantly boosted their combat capability and hunting efficiency, just as Li Pu had hoped when forming the second pact.

Unlike summoner skills, Bo Bo's [Rapid] effect didn't tire him out or cause mental fatigue.

It was practically an infinite refill-type [Rapid].

And the biggest beneficiary of this refill mode was the straw man.

This made its role as bait more effortless and safer.

Additionally, Bo Bo's group attack ability was extremely effective against cluster magical beasts.

Though it might be less effective against powerful entities like Sasha Mushroom King, where a dozen kicks had little effect, against relatively weaker Cloud Wolves, a few rounds of bombardment sufficed.

Throughout the night, Li Pu encountered six packs of Cloud Wolves.

Notably, during one of these encounters, he ran into the little Cloud Wolf again.

Once more, it was rejected by other Cloud Wolf tribes, unable to integrate.

Li Pu was too lazy to bother with this ungrateful creature.

Yet he did remind the straw man and Bo Bo to be careful in combat, so as not to accidentally hurt the little fellow.

Encountering it twice in one night on the vast East Wilderness Ridge was indeed a coincidence.

After a night of fierce battle, Li Pu ended up with over a hundred Cloud Wolf tails.

Adding to the ones he had collected with Jiang Guiju earlier from a big wolf pack, he now had over two hundred.

His storage space was nearly full.

Luckily, it was not too far from the Great Stone Wall, where he planned to hand them over on his way back to school.

Thus, upon returning to school, he already had gained two more Climbing Wall Vine leaves, bringing the total to seven.

At this rate, in less than a week, he would have accumulated the required amount.

Passing through the East Gate of the school, Li Pu left the straw man behind.

Because it had promised to help Ta-Raptor scratch its feathers daily for the next week.

Li Pu was fully supportive of this task to gather raptor feathers.

He even funded an increase in the straw man's cola supply for the week, greatly boosting its enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, the timing might not have been ideal, as it was just dawn.

Before it could help Ta-Raptor scratch its itch, the substitute gatekeeper granny grabbed it to practice Tai Chi.

She claimed it looked talented, but Li Pu believed she was merely looking for companionship.

On his return, the already sleeping Bo Bo naturally continued clutching the straw man's head, refusing to let go, and so Li Pu returned alone to the dormitory.

On the way back, he stopped by the cafeteria for a hearty breakfast.

By the time Li Pu finally opened the dormitory door, it was almost eight o'clock.

But what he didn't expect was that so early in the day, someone was already waiting for him here.

Upon seeing the person's face, Li Pu couldn't help but smile.

"Cai Yan, you're here so early."
