Lord Of Puppets

Chapter 107 – Golem Forest Assault – Second Try – Part 2.

"BACK OFF CHUMBS! HERE COMES THE BIG ONE!" – shouted the human mage before then unleashing a wave of fire magic, unleashing a wall of fire that swallowed up multiple golems all at once, but also almost hit several adventurers.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" – shouted beastman adventurer.

"We were right next to them!"

"Pfff. Fuck off small flies." – said the cocky mage adventurer.

"Just focus on dealing…. With... What the fuck?" – the cocky mage watched as the golems walked right through the flames.

The cocky mage got startled and tried preparing another spell, the golems aimed with their crossbow and fired.

"Idiot! I've told you before! Some of them maybe made out of partially of green wood, but just burning them won't kill them!" – shouted the general as he managed to quickly leap in time, tackling him down and making him avoid the projectiles.

"DID NON-OF YOU LISTEN TO ME?! THEY ARE DURABLE BASTARDS! FOCUS ON POWER!"

"POWER!" – shouted the general before then noticing the crossbow golems aiming at him, causing him to quickly grab the mage and ran behind a tree for a cover.

"Shit! Hey! Take down- "

Before the general could finish speaking, a giant spiked ball on chain flew by and smacked several crossbow golems, before then getting pulled back by the muscular human male with bold hair.

[C rank – Adam]

"Hey! Don't steal them all!" – said the female elf with a bow.

{Fire Enchantment Magic: Fire Arrow} + {Bow Art: Multi Shot}

The female archer unleashed a barrage of arrows at the incoming hound golems, hitting them and damaging them…. But not stopping them.

"Hm…. Yea, I think power maybe really an option here."

{Fire Creation Archer Magic Art: Blow Shot}

The archer fire this time a single arrow which upon contact not only pierced the golem's body, but also unleashed a powerful explosion in area.

"Hey. Can you deal with the ones coming close? I can deal with enemy archers." – said the female elf.

[C rank – Amelia Wood]

"…"

(C ranks….) – thought general as he observed the duo fighting.

(We didn't managed to recruit a lot of them from get go, but even so, their presence is making some difference.)

(As for the D ranks…. Well, they are bit chaotic…. Some are refusing to fallow orders, but they are doing their job.) – thought general as he left his hiding spot and ambush passing by golems by golems.

(Still…. This isn't looking good either.) – thought the general as a large-scale battle emerged from the forest where all soldiers from both sides engaged in battle.

(Did the enemy numbers increase way more than we had suspected?)

(Still, we are managing to hold our line.)

Blades clashes and projectiles flew around.

Chaos and destruction took over the entire region of the forest…. And before long, the terrain itself started changing because of the battle, starting to match up war itself as the corpse of both the golems and people started filling up the area... Although corpse, most of the victims were golems.

The kingdom was winning the starting exchanging with the golems.

The reason is simple really.

The number advantage.

The kingdom army had now much bigger army and not only that, they had C rank adventurers causing chaos and destruction amongst the enemy ranks, allowing the kingdom to somewhat obtain edge from the get go against the golems.

However, they were not able to push forward…. And this reason being also every simple.

There was a lot of golems keep coming, replacing the ones that got destroyed.

(But at this rate we will win!) – thought the beastman general as he went on rampage, taking down the golem soldiers left and right, before then being confronted by the golem knight.

"{Axe Art: Twin Strike}!" – the beastman general slashed the golem knight with his axes, managing to land a solid hit on the creature, which ended up prompting the beastman to rush in and try to finish off the creature, only for the beastman to then get instantly ambushed by the second golem knight whom he had not noticed.

(CRAP!) – the beastman tried raising up his guard as the golem swung down its sword…. But in the very next moment a spike ball flew by and knocked back the knight golem, pushing it away from the general and saving his life.

"HEY! DON'T DIE YOU FUCKER!" – shouted Adam as he pulled back his chained spike and rushed towards the general.

"Yea! Thanks for the assist!" – said the general as he continues fighting his own knight golem, while the C rank adventurer took on the second knight golem.

"…"

(At the rate things are going…. We are going to win...But-)

"Shit! It finally showed itself!" – said the beastman general as the kingdom army spotted something massive coming from the deeper parts of the forest.

"TAKE CARE!" – shouted general.

"Elite enemy has finally emerged!"

"…."

"?"

"?!"

"Hey…. HEY!" – shouted a nervus adventurer.

"Didn't you say there was only one?"

The general eyes were instantly filled with panic upon hearing those words, causing him to quickly knocking away the golem he was fighting before then taking a proper look at the incoming enemy…. And realizing that something was off.

There were 3 giant figures emerging from the trees.

"…. Shit." – said general as all 3 figures finally were visible, revealing themselves to be the giant knight golems.

(These bastards multiplied as well?)

"CAREFUL! UNLIKE OTHER GUYS, WE HAVE NO INFORMATIONS ABOUT THESE ONES!" – shouted the general as the three giants started approaching the army, while being accompanied by a second wave of golems.

"And they ain't alone!" – said the C rank adventurer.

"…"

"Fuck! Split up!" – shouted general.

"High ranking officers me and C ranks! We take on the giants! Rest deal with remaining golems!"

The new golem group finally arrived and instantly all the smaller golems ended up being confronted by the adventurers and soldiers, giving an opening for the general alongside his elite knights as well as C rank adventurers to rush the giants.

"EAT SHIT!" – shouted Adam as he sends his spiked ball flying, hitting one of the giants in the shoulders… Damaging, but not really stopping the creature in tracks one bit.

"…Oh…. Yea, they are definitely durable." – said Adam as he retracted his spiked ball, while the giant he just hit gazed at him.

The giant lifted up its giant blade arm and swung it down at the muscular human, alarming the man as he quickly dodged to the side, barely avoiding in time the giant blade that smashed the ground.

"What are you doing?!" – shouted Amelia as she fired another explosive arrow at the giant, blowing them up…. But not stopping them.

"…Okay… You were- SHIT!" – the archer quickly leaped backwards, dodging the giant blade before then quickly firing another explosive arrow at the golem's face, once again causing an explosion…. That did not bothered the creature one bit as it continues swinging its blade.

"{Axe Art: Twin Heavy Strike}!" – the beastman general rushed in and leaped at the giant, striking one of its knees from behind in hopes of breaking it…. Only for that plan to fail instantly.

"?!"

(Why its joints are so durable?!) – thought the beastman before noticing the giant blade coming, alarming the beastman as he raised up his guard as a giant blade smashed against his defenses, knocking the beastman away.

"?!"

(OKAY! IT HAS SOME POWER?!) – thought the beastman general as he ended up rolling on the ground, before then quickly managing to recover and leaped away as another giant blade came his way.

"DON'T GET HIT WITH THOSE BLADES!" – shouted the general.

"THEY WILL CUT YOU IN HALF!"

With just short and quick exchange, both the knights and adventurers understood something about the giants.

They are dangerous.

Not only they are noticeable more durable than other golems, but their pure attack power is deadly enough to just cut down a tree.

However, the C ranks adventurers had experience when it comes to dealing with monsters and they knew when to attack and when to keep their distance, allowing them to somewhat predict the creatures' attacks and then counterattack.

But even so, the giants were not easily going down, even when attacked by multiple C rank adventurers.

"WAIT! SHIT!" – shouted the adventurer who tried raising up his shield, only to then get hit and send flying, before then crushing right into one of the trees as he spitted out blood from his mouth.

"Hey! Healer! Heal him!" – shouted Adam, ordering the female priest to quickly run to the injured man and start healing him.

"Fuck me…. Those things just refuse to die!" – shouted Adam as he threw his spike ball at the giant's face, who in response to that raised both of its blades and blocked the attack, before then trying to impale the man.

However, right in the next moment, a thunder fallen down on the giant, stunning it for a moment and giving the man chance to quickly back away.

"KEEP GOING!" – shouted human mage wearing an eyepatch.

[C rank – Gildow]

"They are not going down, but the damage is stacking up!"

"They are not regenerating or showing any sights of recovery!"

"At one point they will just fall!" – said the man as he unleashed his thunder magic at the giant, firing a lighting from his palm.

"HE IS RIGHT!" – shouted the general as tried going after the golem's leg again and then quickly retreating after securing a hit.

"They maybe strong and tough, but they are big targets as well!"

"Focus first on their legs! Remove their ability to walk and then we just jump on them!"

Lack of recovery.

Unlike the adventurers and soldiers who could just use magic and potions to recover themselves, these golems did not posses any means of recovering their strength or durability, without a direct support from Thauma.

And thanks to this, the adventurers realized that they can just play a safe game with the giants, allowing the damage to stack up, before then going to finish off the creatures.

As for the remaining soldiers and golems? They were still fighting.

True.

Now that the elite knights, general and C ranks adventurers are focuses on dealing with the 3 giants, the power that the rest of the army power ended up dropping… But even so, they stood their ground and fought the golems nonstop.

Some of them died, while some others were forced to retreat.

But even so, they stood their ground, not allowing the golems go past them or go after their elite combatants who were taking on the elite monsters.

Conclusion.

The kingdom army was slowly winning.

They were still not close to the victory, since all 3 giants are still left standing and there is still a lot of golems left…. But even so, at the rate things are going, the kingdom army will win.

Even if they were to retreat, they would recover their strength while only some of the golems would end up getting repaired.

It didn't mattered if they lost the first assault, the second assault or even a third assault.

They would win in the end, no matter how many attempts they would make.

But the question is.

What is the dungeon master who was observing the entire fight be thinking about?
