"Hey! What the hell is going on?!" – said panicking adventurer as he looked towards direction where series of explosions was heard.

"…"

(Just what….) – thought the wolf knight.

"Hey! You here! Help me out! We need to break through the enemy line here and find out what the hell happened.

"…"

"…"

*Cough* Cough*

"Okay….Okay….Fuck…. Okay." – said adventurer Adam as he gotten up.

(What the fuck just happened?!)

(We were about to destroy that golem until -SHIT!) – the adventurer tried understanding his situation, only to then notice the head of the golem right next to him, starting at him.

Adam quickly backed away and got ready to fight…. Only to then realize that the golem that he just saw was already completely wrecked as it could no longer move and was about to deactivate.

"…"

(I guess whatever exploded finished off this golem for us.)

(No wait! What the hell exploded in the first place?!)

(And is everybody okay-)

"Oh…. You are still alive." – said the female archer as she approached the spiked ball user alongside thunder mage.

"!"

"You two, okay?" – asked Adam as he turned around.

"Yea…. This bastard managed to sense something was off and noticed the balls dropping down before anybody else did…. He managed to deploy a barrier to protect both of us…. What about you?" – asked female archer.

"I'm good." – replied the warrior.

"I'm quiet tough and I've cultivated few defense-oriented skills…. Still, getting blasted like this multiple times and point-blank range wasn't nice."

"What about the others? Are you only two survivors?"

"Hm…. Maybe." – said the mage as he approached the fallen beastman knight and lifted up his head, revealing half destroyed face and lifeless eyes.

"The blast had enough power to shred through the armor at point blank range…So it was bit obvious what had happened to the people that had those things right on their heads."

"…"

"Still, there could be some survivors, we should-"

"UGH!?"

"!"

The group of C rank adventurers suddenly heard scream of somebody nearby, causing them to turn around and spot the giant stabbing right in the back the general.

"!"

"SHIT!" – shouted the warrior as he instantly rushed towards the general side.

"…"

(Hm…. Maybe I should had waited a bit.) – thought Thauma.

(It seems I've underestimated my bombs power.)

(I've thought it would just either damage or knock them out…. But they were bit more destructive than I've thought…. Then again, I did dropped a lot-?)

"FUCK OFF YOU BASTARD!" – shouted the warrior as he span and threw his spiked chain ball at the giant's face, hitting it…. But not stopping it as it then just turned around its head, only to then get blasted with both fire and lighting magic at the same time, unleashing a combined explosion.

Golem took out its blade from the general back and lifted it up, raising up its guard to defend itself, while the warrior quickly ran and grabbed the general, before then quickly getting to safety.

"!"

(Shit!) – however, right after stopping, the warrior noticed the critical state of the general, as his whole back was dug with blade.

(This wound is fatal! Hell! How is he even twitching with his body in the first place with that kind of wound, he should be-) – thought the warrior as he noticed the general staring at him, unable to even speak as all he could do with his mouth was puke out blood…. Before moments later passing out right in the warrior's hands.

"Shit! Healers! FUCKING HEALERS! DO WE HAVE ANYBODY!?" – shouted the warrior as he tried threating the general wounds, but failing as his blood splattered everywhere from his wound.

"GENERAL NEEDS URGENT CARE! I REPEAT! GENERAL NEEDS!"

"Fuck…. Why are you yelling?" – asked the injured healer adventurer as he was trying to heal his own injured arm while approaching the duo.

"!"

"Healer! Help him!" – said the warrior in panic, alarming the priest who noticed the wounded general.

"…"

"Fuck…. I can't do it." – said terrified healer.

"W-what the fuck do you mean you can't?! Just heal him!" – said warrior as he grabbed the healer by his coat collar.

"I can't! His wounds are too deep and he had lost way too much blood!" – replied the healer.

"Healing this kind of wounds would take too long for me and even if I did repair them, the blood would kill him…."

"…"

"There is straight up nothing that I can do."

"GENERAL!" – shouted the beastman knight who had broken through the golem line alongside several soldiers.

(Reinforcements?!) – thought the warrior.

"HERE!" – shouted the warrior, instantly getting attention of the soldiers who rushed to the warrior side, which ended up with them finding out general who was lying half dead.

"?!"

"W-what happened?!" – asked terrified beastman knight.

"THERE IS NO TIME!" – shouted the warrior.

"Take that bastard out of here and order evacuation! NOW!"

"W-what?! B-but I don't have authority." – said the knight who was still trying to understand the situation.

"THERE IS NO FUCKING TIME! HAVE EVACUATION ORDER ISSUED NOW!" – shouted the knight.

"THERE IS SOMETHING HERE! SOMETHING THAT BLEW US ALL UP!"

"Before whatever attacked us before shows up again, we need to get out and-"

However, just as the warrior was about to warn the knight about what had happened, a sound of explosions could be heard coming from the distance, alarming the entire group as they turned around.

"Hey! What is going on?!" – said confused soldier before moments later something grabbed onto his leg and blew up.

"Below! They are coming from the ground!" – said the panicking adventurer before the bomb golem dropped right on top of him.

"Shit! What is going on here!? Why is everything around us blowing up?!" – said panicking knight.

"!"

"FUCK! GOLEMS ARE COMING! MAN UP YOU-" – the soldier tried gathering up in order to stand their ground…. Only to then get instantly blew up.

(It is no use.) – thought Thauma who was observing the fight from afar.

(I've knew from the start that whatever the kingdom is preparing for so long would not be some weak or pathetic plan.)

(They were preparing themselves to take down my golems with ease…. Most likely answer behind this being survival.)

(They don't want to die.)

(Unlike my golems who can be treated as expendable, human lives are not easily replaced.)

(So, I've made a trap.)

(I've improved a bit my bomb golems movement ability and made them be on standby near the dungeon.)

(The reason being that I didn't knew how they would attack.)

(Would they walk in straight line? Or would they curve their path? Or maybe they would split up and attack from multiple locations?)

(I didn't knew…. So, I played it safe and waited until they came into the forest.)

(As soon as they did, I unleashed my golems at them.)

(They were my fighting force…. But at the same time they were distraction.)

(As soon as the enemy engaged in the fight with my golems, I've ordered the bomb golems to take positions and wait a bit.)

(Once the bomb golems were in their position, they started dropping down or walking up to the enemy, taking down the enemy with them.)

(However, it is true.)

(This strategy "SUCKS" in a way.)

(I needed to straight up sacrifice my golems to just buy time, and this process already costed me more golems than I've calculated in the first place.)

(And then came explosions.)

(They are also hitting some of my golems.)

(Most of the explosions are only hitting the enemies, but some of my golems that are close by are also getting blasted.)

(But there is no problem.)

(I can just make more golems and gather their destroyed parts in order to recycle them.)

(As for the enemy?)

(They can't just easily replace their lost numbers, unlike me.)

Chaos.

It was a complete chaos.

The kingdom army was winning.

Not only they were dominating and winning their fight against the giant knights trio, but were also able to dominate the entire golem army.

They were winning the battle.

But now?

Chaos erupted everywhere once explosions started going off.

Disorientation, fear, confusions and panic.

To make matters worse, the golems didn't cared about explosions.

Even when some golems were in the blast or got even got hit directly with explosions, they just didn't cared.

These creatures just continue marching and attacking the soldiers.

Chaos of the battle, chaos of unknown and chaos caused by explosions.

The kingdom army was winning the fight…. But how much chaos was happening all at once, it is no wonder that the kingdom's soldiers and adventurers would end up becoming confused, not knowing what to truly do in a moment.

Not only that, but that confusion and chaos ended up completely messing up the chain of the commands…. Which was the truly worst thing possible right now.

Why?

Because it made the "retreat" order much harder to pull off.

However, the fear struck the soldiers and adventurers alike…. And the first ones to start running away were the adventurers, realizing that the battle was lost the moment explosions started going off.

"!"

"HEY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? COME BACK HERE AND FIGHT!" – said the tall wolf beastman knight.

"NO! RETREAT ISSUE HAD BEEN MADE! FUCK! ARE YOU THE ONE IN CHARGE NOW?!" – asked the warrior Adam as he approached the knight.

"?!"

"Retreat?! But when-"

"General was injured and we are getting wrecked! There is no time!" = said the warrior.

"!"

"RETREAT! ALL FORCES RETREAT!" – the warrior finally managed to find the general second in command and managed to issue the retreat order.

However…. Even with the order issued, the army couldn't really move around freely.

Why?

Well, one reason was that they had hostile golem army right next to them, attacking them.

And second reason was explosions.

The bomb golems walked up and threw themselves off the trees at the soldiers, blowing them up.

The army didn't knew where the next explosions could go out from or when.

"JUST RUN! THEY CAN'T HIT ALL OF US!" – shouted tall wolf beastman, trying to force the army to break through.

…

But it didn't really worked…. The reason being chaos and fear influencing the entire army.

Some people ran off on their own…. Only to be met with bomb golems waiting for them.

And this caused their fear to get better of them.

They thought that whoever runs first will end up definitely triggering bombs.

Some soldiers survived… But some that got hit at point blank range either ended up dying on the spot or receiving mortal wounds.

It was straight up hopeless situation.

But in the end, the desperation kicked in and the army stopped thinking straight as some people without thinking tried going through the forest, resulting in some bombs going off and killing some of the soldiers…. But their unwilling sacrifice ended up opening a path for the army to use as they started running away while the golems gave chase.
