Lord Of Puppets

Chapter 113 – Preparation for the next battle.

[Current location: Dungeon]

(Hm….)

(Hhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.)

(What the hell do I make?) – thought Thauma who was surrounded by a bunch of different golem parts, with some of them having a bizarre shape or just straight up somewhat 'funny' appearance.

(I mean, I know this is life and dead situation.)

(But I really don't know what to make.)

(I can upgrade my golems, create a new design and mass produce slightly stronger golems, if not golems that are straight up stronger than my current strongest golems, the giant knights.)

(But will strength solve everything.)

(I mean, I do know that schemes alone won't do.)

(I need power and sometimes it alone is the only answer.)

(But right now I also need schemes as well.)

(Bombs will definitely hold off the enemy for some time…. But once they are done with them, I will be helpless.)

(I'm already investing a lot of miasma to replace a number of lost golems as well as using it to help my dungeon evolve.)

(But what do I do regarding the future?) – thought Thauma as it started playing around with its earth magic, creating arms and sword that clashed with each other.

(My mastery over magic has significantly improved and in turn my mastery of mana craft.)

(I've also gotten much better at form of magic crafting, allowing me give much stabler form or the one with enough power to shatter human skull.)

(…)

(Should I do that?)

(Application of the elemental magic into the golem build?)

(I was wondering before if I could make a special earth golem if I were to use my power of earth magic as well as knowledge I've had obtained from experimenting on it.)

"…"

"…"

(Yes…. Yes, I need to do it.)

(I already found out that I can make special made body parts of the golems using my art of crafting, including mana craft art.)

(There in theory, shouldn't it be possible to use earth magic to make special enchantment to the golems body?)

(It will be completely different form of enchantment… No. It will be nothing alike if I think about it correctly.)

(It will be the "nature" of the golem or maybe their "power"?)

(Or maybe it will be truly just enchantment?)

(I mean, I can use earth magic to make earth much more solid.)

(I can also make it sharper or pointier.)

(Blade or armor.)

(I can make both.)

(But can I use this kind of knowledge and apply it to the golems? Or at least mutate it or discover a different form of this power which can be applied to the golems?)

(The golem I can make with my magic alone isn't it either. I need something… "DEEPER".)

(If I could make this 'different kind of earth golem', then I could maybe apply the test results to the different materials and such?)

(Yea…. This is something I will definitely need.)

(This experiment is something I need to do no matter what.)

(But wouldn't that be just a rough power?)

(I mean, I need a "scheme"!)

"…"

(Then again, if I think about it.)

(If the enemy would be expecting some sort of scheme from me each time, then wouldn't their way of thinking about me change? Wouldn't they start suspecting that each time we fight, there is something going on behind a scenes?)

(….I would…. And if I were to do that, there is a good chance that the enemy would.)

(…)

(Yes…. This will be the way this time.)

(Not a scheme that will be caught off guard the enemy, but instead a pure power that will overwhelmed them.)

<<If I want to defeat the enemy, I need to think about it from their point of view, as if I was the one fighting the golems.>>

<<And if I were them, I would again expect the golems or some random new thing popping up…. So, this time if I want to catch them off guard, I need something different.>>

<<Something simpler that will destroy the enemy.>>

<<Pure power.>>

<<This what I need.>>

<<However, there is a problem…. Few to be exact.>>

[1 – My vision.]

<< I have limited vision even with my upgrades, I still need to do a lot of improvement if I truly wish to SEE everything around. I also need to increase the number of scout golems or try to make some sort of replacement for them that would do their job much better.>>

[2 – My golems have limited range of activity.]

<<I no longer need to give my golems orders "directly" per say, like they need to be right next to me in order to relay my orders to them. I'm speaking about manifested ones.>>

<<But that doesn't mean my command reach is affecting the entire forest.>>

<<My golems needs to be very close to the dungeon if not straight up inside if I want to order them.>>

<<True, I can now travel much longer distance away from the dungeon core.>>

<<But that doesn't mean I can freely travel around the forest either.>>

<<I can make my way closer to the surface in order to increase my command a range bit…. But that is it.>>

<<I cannot give new orders to the golems that too far away from the dungeon… Which does pose an annoying problem.>>

[3 – Enemy power.]

<<Enemy is far stronger than my golems. Based on the previous fight, I could tell that the enemy not only had a quantity advantage, but they also had quality advantage.>>

<<General, wolf knights and C rank adventurers. They are far too dangerous. Even my new strongest golem type, the giant knight golems were helpless against them once they ganged up on them.>>

<<And these new golems not only were stronger, but also tougher.>>

<<They had power to destroy the enemy…. But by the looks of things, it wasn't enough to deal with them. They were smarter than these brainless golems and that gave them a huge advantage over them.>>

<<There is also a problem with crafting, research and materials. All of these things will take time.>>

<<Especially materials, I may need to use more DP in order to have the dungeon core research and unlock ability to unlock higher quality metals…. I may also try making "Steel" metal.>>

<<Oh, and there is also a problem with my golems being dumb.>>

<<I need to do a lot of coding and stuff….>>

<<Everything will take a lot of time…. But this time I don't have to worry about it.>>

<<Since I've secured it.>>

<<Enemy may have escaped, but they suffered heavy losses.>>

<<Not only that, but they also ended up leaving heavily injured.>>

<<And their general was killed.>>

<<If we add the situation regarding the kingdom on top of it, it should take the enemy weeks before they could possible attack.>>

<<…But what about the adventurers?>>

<<They could just recruit more….. And if more C ranks join the fight…. Then thing could end up becoming extremely dangerous for me.>>

<<Or worse.>>

<<B rank party.>>

<<I don't know how strong B rank adventurer is or the C+ rank monsters are… But I'm scared…. If they really show up, then it could end with me getting completely destroyed.>>

<<I don't know when they could appear, so I need to hurry and obtain some results which could at least upgrade the dungeon even by a bit before the next attack comes this way.>>

[Meanwhile: Royal Castle – Throne room]

"…Are…. Are you fucking with me right now?" – asked King Ash as his entire face was covered in sweat.

"N-no…. I'm not…" – replied the beast-human knight.

"The news of the general Gustav Chariot's death has spread everywhere."

"The entire capital city has found out about the golem dungeon, the incident that revolves around and the death…. Of the general." – said knight before then getting hit right in the face with a chalice.

"HOW?!" – shouted the king.

"WHO SPREAD IT!? WHO THE FUCK SPREAD THESE NEWS?!"

"W-we don't know! W-we tried looking, but we couldn't find anything!" – replied nervous knight.

"It is as if the news suddenly appeared out of nowhere all around the-"

"FIND THE SOURCE AND DEAL WITH IT! SILENCE THE NOISE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! NOW!" – shouted the king.

"Y-yes sir!" – replied the knight as he ran away.

"…"

(What is going on here?!)

(It has been just a day after I've received the news of that bastard's death and the news has already spread throughout whole capital city?!)

(But that doesn't make sense!)

(The report that was given to me was completely sealed!)

(I was the one that opened it up and read in secret!)

(NOBODY SHOULD EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE INCIDENT!)

(Yet not only the news of the general death has spread around, but also the fact that I'm using soldiers to deal with golem dungeon as well as the giant fucking incident that is going on right now?!)

"…"

"Where is the messenger?! WHERE IS THE MESSENGER THAT I'VE HAS SENT BACK!?" – shouted the king at the nobleman.

"H-he left as soon as you gave him your own message." – replied nervous human nobleman.

"FUCK!"

"Send soldiers to Mevon and tell them to make sure that the information doesn't cross the border! You hear me!? MAKE SURE THAT NOBODY FUCKING SPEAKS THERE!" – shouted the king at the nobleman.

(This doesn't make any sense! Who could had spread the information?!)

(The messenger?! He was the only one that arrived here! I've even had people confirming it!)

(Fuck me!)

(Finding out who spread this information one thing, but other is dealing with the people!)

(If the information spread across the kingdom, that the general has died to some random ass monsters, people will start losing faith in us…. Or even worse, they will start demanding the previous king returning back to the throne!)

(EVEN FUCKING WORSE! THESE PIECES OF TRASH FOUND OUT!)

(THEY WILL TALK AND SPREAD THAT INFORMATIONS FURTHER!)

(And before long, they will start trying to murder each other in order to become my right hand and the new general of the Garmfon kingdom's army!)

(FUCK!)

(Why is this happening?!)

(Why is everything going straight to hell left and right nonstop?!)

(At the rate things are going, forget alliance possible breaking apart.)

(This maybe the... Shit….. OH, FUCK ME!)

(THE ROYAL FACTION!)

(THEY FUCKING DID IT!)

(THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS!)

(Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! SHIT!)

(Do they have any idea what they had done?! NO! THEY HAVE FUCKING IDEA! BECAUSE, THEY DID IT!)

"…"

"These bastards…."

(They are planning on turning the whole kingdom against me.)
