"Keep up! Don't let that bastard! OH SHIT!" – shouted Adam as he was suddenly forced to quickly leap backwards, dodging the giant blade.
"Huh… You are quiet fast for a guy with tons of muscles?" – said surprised Elizabeth.
"Well, I've trained hard!" – replied Adam before then launching his spiked ball at the creature, landing a solid hit…. That pretty much did not bothered the creature one bit as it tried smashing Adam once again with its blade, forcing the man to quickly retreat in panic as the giant blade smashed the spot where the man was just moments ago, causing a mass destruction.
"Shit! Don't get hit by this thing! And I mean it!" – shouted Adam.
"This guy attack power is nothing like the other giant knights!"
[Boss Monsters]
[A.K.A other Half of the Dungeon's Heart]
[These monsters are a special being that are in charge of protecting specific space known as "Dungeon's Heart".]
[Simple put, the boss monster is the "Dungeon's Heart" avatars.]
[The DH provides the dungeon with additional flow of miasma, but there is a catch.]
[The DH will only work while the avatar, A.K.A Dungeon Boss is alive.]
[Dungeon Bosses can manifest and become a true monster. However! While they are still connected to the DH, they are powered up, granting their avatar increase in all the stats, which also includes physical enchantment to the avatars body.]
"Fuck! That almost hit me!" – said wolf beastman as the giant monster was going on the rampage, trying to hit anything and anybody near it, while causing mass destruction.
"{Thunder Sphere}!" – the thunder mage unleashed a sphere of electricity at the creature, hitting it and blowing it up with a discharge of electricity…. However, once again, the creature was completely unamused by the attack.
"Shit." – said the thunder mage as he cracked a nervous smile.
(Giant Steel Knight Golem.) – thought Thauma.
(A new and improved version of the Giant Iron Knight Golem.)
(Besides having replacing the main material that made up its body, from iron to steel.)
(I've also created special and improved golem core and artificial mana organ as well as equipped the golem with new blades that are far superior to those wielded by its predecessor.)
(And if we also add the bonus from DH, this golem should be to make things problematic for the adventurers.)
And indeed it had.
This new golem model was far deadlier than its predecessor.
Not only it was stronger offensive and defensively, but it was also much faster.
With just increase in speed alone, Thauma noticed how much the adventurers were struggling and the attack power of the creature terrified them.
…
But even so, they fought back.
"Focus on the left leg!" – shouted Mawa as he quickly smashed the creature left ankle, before then quickly getting away as the creature tried stomping him down.
"Fallow up!" – said Elizabeth as she unleashed {Spear Art: Pierce} at the creature knee, stabbing it and chipping off parts of its metal plate.
The damage was accumulating.
The creature was stronger in all categories, compare to its predecessor…. But it wasn't enough to fill the adventurers with despair.
Their attacks were working and they were able to accumulate the damage.
Which was more than enough to keep adventurers motivated to push forward.
To make matters worse for Thauma, the B-rank adventurers were motivating the adventurers with their presence as they were straight up playing with the giant.
The giant maybe faster than the previous model, but it wasn't fast enough to catch up to the trio of B-rank adventures, as not only they dodged or countered all of the creature attacks, but their own counters were visible dealing a lot of damage to the creature.
"…"
(It won't win.) – thought Thauma, as it instantly understood that the golem wouldn't win against these B-ranks adventurers.
(Speed and attack power…. This is the worst possible match up for the giants…...)
(Just them 3 alone is enough to take down the golem.)
And unfortunately for the Thauma, it wasn't a wrong calculation.
The damage against the golem was pilling up non stop from the countless blows.
The golem was going on the total rampage, swinging arounds its blades everywhere in order to hit anything…. But the adventurers knew that kept their distance, with only fast enough adventurers being allowed anywhere near it.
"FALL DOWN DAMMIT!" – shouted Markus as he smashed hit blade covered in wind against the golem knee from behind, managing to finally accumulate enough damage to stagnate the creature in place.
"!"
"EVERBODY! ATTACK THE LEFT LEG NOW!" – shouted Mawa, as all adventurers unleashed their attacks simultaneously, pilling up even more damage to the point the golem's joint gave up, making the creature get down on its knee.
"…"
(Its over.) – thought Thauma as it saw adventurers not wasting even a moment and staring to unleash a hell at the hindered golem.
(Hm…. Yeb. I will need to create more specific golems to deal with specific type of enemies.)
(These fast-moving enemies are extremely annoying. My golems can't deal with them properly.)
(Still, this wasn't the last boss monster they will be facing.)
The giant knight golem tried fighting desperately against the adventurers, even when one of its legs stopped working properly…. But it wasn't good enough as the damage was keep accumulating and before long, one by one, each of the golem limbs stopped working.
And afterwords, it didn't took long for the golem to finally met its end as its deactivated body fell down on the ground, before then starting to disappear right in front of the adventurers' eyes.
"…Okay… Dead? Dead." – said Adam.
"Everybody alright!? Anybody injured?!"
"…Some are….But no deaths." – replied Amelia Wood.
"Anyway, loot time!" – said the excited elven girl as the body of the boss monster disappeared, leaving behind two giant blades and the core.
"!"
"Jackpot! We got the core!" - said excited elf.
"Yea…. But there also these… Fuck, they heavy?" – said Adam as he lifted one of the giant blades.
"…So…. Are they like great swords?" – asked Mawa.
"Maybe? There isn't really a handle, so I can't get a good grip on it…. Still, I think maybe it would be a nice blade." – said Adam as he inspected the spoils.
(Yea…. Now that I have somewhat close look, I can tell.) – thought Adam.
(This blade is somewhat high quality….)
(Garmfon kingdom wanted to have this kingdom desperately…. And I can see now why.)
(If they had equipped their soldiers with weapons from this dungeon…. Their military power would definitely increase in dangerous level.)
"But at the same time, this isn't good." – said Adam to himself as he continues inspecting the weapon.
"?"
"What do you mean? The sword?" – asked Mawa.
"No. I mean, yes?" – replied Adam.
"What I mean to say, is that this weapon quality is high, to the point even I can tell with my half assed blacksmith knowledge."
"And this thing…. I doubt it was a dungeon master."
"It was definitely dungeon boss…. So-"
"The further we go in, the higher the difficulty could become." – said Mawa.
"…Yeb." – replied Adam as he handed the blade over to the supply carriers.
"It takes some time for the next boss monster to show up, so this place could be our short safe spot!"
"But there is no telling if this is really safe zone or not! So, we will keep watch until everybody recovers, got it?!"
After adventurers have defeated the first boss monster, they ended up using the boss room/dungeon's heart as their short rest spot, before then once again moving upon dealing with the wounded.
"Open up the door." – said Adam, commanding the frontliners to open up the door, which revealed a staircase leading downwards.
"…I guess this is multi floored dungeon, huh?" – said annoyed Adam.
"Descend down. But be careful. I wouldn't be surprised if we started now seeing some traps." – said Adam as the adventurers descended down, before then entering the second floor of the dungeon.
"…"
(It looks different.) – thought Adam as he looked around, noticing that the second floor was now covered with way more bricks compare to the before.
"…Keep your heads up and look around walls and floors." – said Mawa as he took the lead.
"!"
"Enemy! Inbound!" – shouted the wolf beastman, as several figures started approaching the adventurers…. This time being, the soldiers knight, accompanied by the knight golems.
"Knights! And these bastards also look different!" – shouted wolf beastman.
"Oh great. That means they are also enchanted version, aren't they?" – said thunder mage.
"Heads up everybody!" – said Adam as once again the frontliners raised up their defenses as the golems have again started off with the hail of bolts.
"…"
(Well, I can already tell how this will go.) – thought Thauma.
(These knight golems are also far stronger compare to the previous model, but they won't win.)
(Especially against the B-ranks. They will easily destroy them.)
(Maybe if…. Nah. Numbers wouldn't work. The enemy also have some numbers backing them up.)
(Yeb. My golems will definitely lose the entire second floor battle.)
(I guess the second boss monster will have to try and deal with them…. Maybe it will at least kill some people.)
