Once again, the adventurers were met with the horde of monsters, just like they did on the first floor.
This time, they fought both puppet soldiers and knights type golems.
And this time, the difficulty ended up increasing noticeable.
The golems they fought were not only the new models of the puppet soldiers, but the new version of the knight golems.
And these new knights were obviously giving the adventurer some hard time.
"Shit!"
"HEY! HEY! FUCKING HELP HERE!" – shouted panicking adventurer who was on the complete defense as the knight golems were not showing any mercy whatsoever.
"Duck!" – shouted Adam as he threw his spiked ball, hitting and pushing away the knight golem.
"…"
"Dammit. These too?" – said Adam as he realized that the knight golem survived a direct hit from the spiked ball.
"CAREFUL! THESE GUYS DURABILITY ALSO INCREASED! PLAY IT SAFE!" – shouted Adam, warning the adventurers who were right now fighting the knight golems.
(Hm…. It is going pretty well, if I say so.) – thought Thauma as it observed the fight between the golems and adventurers.
(But even so, they won't win.)
(I can clearly tell that they are having bit of trouble with new knights, since all of their stats also ended up increasing.)
(But there is just not enough…. And there are also these guys.) – thought Thauma as it observed the B-rank adventurers wrecking and destroying the golems left and right, all on their own, including the knight golems that tried stopping them… Only to end up being brutally destroyed in all sorts of ways.
(They are too fast for my golems and their pure attack power is straight up destroying the golems.)
(Yeb. There is no mistaking it.)
(They will win this fight.)
And unfortunately, Thauma was right.
Even though this floor was equipped with the knight golems, it still wasn't enough to caused a single proper casualty against adventurers.
In the end, the wave of monsters has been exterminated.
"D-dammit…. Fuckers wouldn't just die…." – said exhausted and injured adventurer.
"…"
"Hey…. How are we holding up…. With potions?" – asked wolf beastman as he approached the bagged carriers.
"We still have good amount left." – said the man as he checked his large backpack.
"….Hey! I think we need to use some potions! Some of the frontliners ended up in rough shape."
"Permission granted." – said Adam as the wolf beastman started gathering up potions.
"…"
"Hey. I want to speak with you for a moment." – said Adam as he approached B-rank adventurers.
"Let's be honest."
"Would you be able to deal with these knights on your own?"
"Hm…. I think so." – replied Elizabeth.
"These guys are straight up just knights in full body armor… Slightly enchanted. But they have weak points and there is limit of how much damage they can take in the first place." – said Markus.
"The only thing we need to worry about is their durability and attack power, just like it was with that giant fucker."
"…"
"Huh. You are giving a solid explanation this time?" – said surprised Mawa.
"Oh, shut the fuck up!" – said pissed off young man.
"Even idiot could tell that much from simple observation!"
"Anyway, are we sure we want waste potions on these bastards? Wouldn't it be better to leave them behind? We still have some extra people."
"No. We need them." – said Adam.
"They were just caught off guard by the golems power up version."
"Still, they should be do well better in the next encounter."
"…"
"However, we didn't see them."
"?"
"See who?" – asked Markus.
"The trio of new golems we saw when we came here." – said Adam.
"Are they on this floor?"
"Or…. Maybe they are on the next one?"
"…"
"Are you saying this maybe triple floored dungeon?" – asked Mawa.
"Well…. Good chance that is the case." – replied Adam.
"And there is also a question whenever or not these things were also 'upgraded'."
"….Welp… Then things will definitely end up annoying." – said Mawa.
(From what we could tell, the dungeon difficulty is definitely C rank… Depending on what the floor 3 is like, it could be even C+.)
(Not B yet…. Not yet.)
(But there is also the dungeon master.)
(Usually those monsters are at the very peak of the dungeon…. The monster in question could be possible either C+…. Or even possible a B rank.)
Upon finishing up their recovery, the adventurers have once again started moving forward.
"!"
"Stop!" – or so they had thought, as suddenly Mawa shouted at the group, ordering the entire group to halt in place.
"…"
"Trap. Brick traps." – said the man as he laid down on the ground and pointed out at the few bricks that were slightly above other bricks.
"Probably pressure traps." – said Mawa as he gave signal to the group to walk away a bit, before moments later Mawa took out a rocket from his pocket and threw it at the brick, causing it to activate something as one of the bricks in the wall suddenly moved away, which was then fallowed up with a crossbow bolt flying by.
"…"
"Traps…. God dammit." – said Mawa as he saw brick slap returning back to its place.
"Hey! Those who specializes in traps! Help out here!" – said Mawa as a small group of people approached Mawa and started helping the man out, spotting the traps and activating some on purpose, causing crossbow bolts to fly by or even a giant blade to suddenly swing from the ceiling.
"…Damn." – said Mawa as he looked behind himself, noticing a long distance between him and the rest of the adventurers.
"….I don't see any more traps here." – said the cat beastwoman.
"Okay. Then lets go back." – said Mawa as he started leading the trap expect back to the main group.
"So… From here, to all the way there… The entire are is booby trapped."
"…"
(Oh what the fuck.) – thought annoyed Thauma as it observed adventurers just going pass all the traps, without even triggering any of them and managing to safely walk across.
(They spotted every single trap I've had prepared!?)
(I know I've put them all in the single spot, so my golems wouldn't accidently get hit by them…. But how?!)
(I get somewhat the trap from the ceiling, since I needed to have a proper opening for the blade.)
(But that was a distraction! The real traps were the crossbows!)
(So how did they…. That man.) – thought Thauma as it observed Mawa.
(He was the first one to discover the traps, wasn't he?)
"…"
(I thought the wind mage swordman was the most dangerous B-rank adventurer…. But that man maybe instead the person I should observe the most.)
Upon managing to survive the trap filled part of the dungeon, the adventurers continue forward on their exploration, encountering more monsters that were pretty much easily dealt with.
And finally, once again the adventurers have reached the Boss Room / Dungeon Heart.
Upon finishing up their preparation, the adventurers opened up the door and entered the room, ready to challenge the second boss monster of the Golem Dungeon.
"…"
"New guy." – said Mawa as the adventurers stared at the never-before-seen golem type.
The golem in question was a large sized golem, which resembled a centaur creature, with two heads sticking out. A humanoid knight head and the beast hound head on the bottom.
Its upper humanoid part resembled that of a knight golem, while its lower part didn't exactly resemble a horse, but instead resembles a hound golem.
Simple put, it was like hound golem entire body with a knight entire body put on top of each other and fused.
The golem itself was visible equipped with two halberds, which had extended spearheads, while the creature entire body was equipped with a heavy armored plates, giving a creature appearance of a heavy armored cavalry unit.
[Boss Monster: Heavy Steel Cavalry Golem]
"Huh…. Not as big as the first guy… But still big." - said Elizabeth.
"…It is definitely a fast-moving type of enemy…. A centaur, huh?"
(Honestly, this golem is a prototype.) – thought Thauma.
(The idea of this golem came from the book about monsters.)
(Specifically, the "Encyclopedia Of Demi-Humans".)
(Some of the creatures in that book were somewhat a beast-human like…. Somewhat like beastman.)
(However, the creatures I'm referring to are half beast body and half man body.)
(One example of it would be a spider creature that has a lower body of a spider, but top part a humanoid looking.)
(Arachnida.)
(Or there is a snake like woman called lamia.)
(And from what I've also learned, there are also a some species that have somewhat similar characteristics, but are not categorized as the demi-human monsters and instead are often categized as civilized species.)
(For example, merfolk, a humanoid creatures with a lower parts of their body being a fish like or beings known as centaurs, which posses a top half human and bottom half of a horse.)
(This creature was somewhat based on those beings.)
(I've tried making it somewhat similar to the "horse" that I've obtained…. But couldn't really figure it out good enough in time… Since, the horse I've had was just a corpse collected by the golems that had raided the invaders camps once.)
(So, I had no choice but instead use a research data I had on hand and instead create a golem that was based on the hound golem.)
(Honestly, I still haven't finished making this golem and it still has a lot of flaws.)
(But from the test I've did so far.)
(That thing should be bit more problematic for those people.)
