"…" – the army of the kingdom soldiers had finally entered the forest and began their exploration.

(Arrows….. Crossbow bolts.) – thought the general as he inspected the damage on the tree, before then looking around.

"There!" – said the general as he pointed at the snow on the ground, before moments later the fire mage unleashed a blast of fire, hitting the spot that the general pointed at.

"Ha! Knew it!" – said general as a damaged soldier golem revealed itself.

However, it wasn't just one golem that was revealed, because moments later all other nearby golems started revealing themselves.

(Litle bastards hid in the snow?) – thought the general as he equipped his two one handed axes.

(I guess these bastards set up ambush that would get triggered as soon as we attack one of them or enter a wrong place?)

"You know what to do!"

"ELIMINATE ALL OF THESE FUCKERS!" – shouted the general as he and soldier instantly rushed in to confront the puppets.

The two forces instantly clashes with each other.

"!"

(Huh. It do have a bit of force behind their attacks?) – thought the general as he stopped the puppet soldier golem's spear, before then counter attacking with his axes.

(And this is….. Green Wood? Where the…. No.) – thought the general before then finishing off golem.

(If those things were produced in dungeon...)

"Continue slaughtering them."

[Meanwhile: Dungeon]

(The signal!) – Thauma noticed the detection device receiving the signal, alarming the puppet as it walked towards the device and just started at it for few moments….. Until a second signal suddenly appeared.

(They are here.) – thought Thauma as it shuted down the golems it was fighting, before then quickly going to helmet device and activating it, resulting in the simulations activation of the scout golem that was resting right outside the dungeons new entrance.

(Nothing here.) – thought Thauma as it was using both the core vision and the golem vision to check the surroundings.

(But where?)

"Are they all dead?" – asked the general as the army managed to get rid of all the golems.

"Y-yes sir." – replied visible shaken soldier.

(These golems….. They are not exactly "weak".) – thought general.

(For elite soldiers they won't be a problem, but regular soldier may have some…. Bit problematic time.)

(But this isn't enough….. No, no, no.)

"Fucking knew it!" – said general as he turned around.

"HEADS UP! MORE FOES COMING!" – shouted general, warning the army as he realized more of golems started rushing towards the soldiers location.

Several soldier puppets appeared in the distance, alongside a group of hound golem.

The golems equipped with crossbows already took aim and fired, forcing the soldiers to quickly react and bolter up their defenses, somewhat blocking the crossbow bolts, before moments later the beast golems leaped at the soldiers, attacking them.

"KEEP YOUR LINE!" – however, they were ready for these beast as well.

The general rushed in and quickly stuck down the constructed creatures that pounced on top of his soldiers, rescuing them before any of their necks or faces could be ripped off by the beast metallic fangs.

"DON'T FORGET ABOUT RANGE ONES! THEY CAN STILL HIT YOU FROM AFAR!" – shouted the general as he left behind his soldiers and ran past the beast golems, quickly closing up the distance and confronting the soldier golem.

"{Axe Art: Spin Strike}!" – the wolf beastman spanned around, unleashing a two slashes around himself, striking down the soldier golems that tried attacking him.

However, even upon taking a heavy damage from the beastman strike, the golems didn't gave up as they tried to attack the beastman once again, only for him to quickly finish off the creatures around him in one swoop.

Afterwords, the beastman quickly ran towards crossbow wielding, using the trees nearby as cover against the crossbow bolts, before then throwing his axes, striked two golems before then rushing at them, grabbing his weapons and using attached golems as shield, blocking other golems attacks.

However, the golems that were used as the shields were stilling willing to fight as they swung their blade arms at the general, slashing him.

"Tch!" – the general quickly threw away both golems, detaching them from his axes and making them fly into other golems, clashing into them.

(Fuck me. It is way too different fighting with a "object" than a living being.) – thought the general as he tired rushing again at the golems, only to falter as he spotted more golems coming in the distance.

(Well, this was to be expected honestly.)

(But this is still manageable.)

(The enemy has not moved.) – thought Thauma as it was using its scout golem to observe outside golems action.

(This…..Hm….. Only one explanation.)

(The ambush has failed.)

(And that in turn can be because of one possible reason.)

(The golems are keep coming!?) – thought the general as he uppercuted one of the golem hounds with axe, before then quickly fallowing with a second one, decapitating the creature right on the spot.

(This is really weird.)

(I mean, I knew the forest was infested with monsters, but there is no sight of them still decreasing!)

(Just how many monsters are there?!)

"Oh, what the fuck?" – said the general as he saw another wave of golems approaching, this time being more composed off soldier golems as well as knight golems.

(Another….. Wait, who are those guys?) – thought confused general as he spotted the knight golems being accompanied by the soldier golems.

(Are they people?) – thought general as one of knight golems aimed with their crossbow arms and fired a crossbow bolt, flying through the battlefield so quickly that the beastman was completely caught off guard, making him barely block the attack in time.

"?!"

(THE FUCK WAS THAT?!) – thought the beastman as he almost lost his balance from the impact.

(My axes got damaged from it?! What kind of crossbow can was that?!) – thought surprised general as he checked his axes that took the blow and realized that the attack just now made a visible damage to his prized axes.

With the arrival of the knight golems, the real battle has official started.

And from the get go, the battle wasn't as "one sided" as the soldiers thought.

Instead of easy victory, the soldiers ended up being met with a army of deadly monsters.

The soldier golems were able to stand their ground, while the hound golems were leaping and surrounding anybody who was alone, resulting in their quick death.

And the knight golems? Once again they had shown how current best golems that were designed by Thauma were nothing more than masterpieces as they slaughtered soldiers left and right.

"PISS OFF YOU BASTARD!"

"{Axe Art: Heavy Strike}!" – the beastman general swung down his axe, landing a devastating hit on one of the knight golems and destroying it…. Only for two more knight golems to arrive and attack the beastman at once, forcing him to defense.

(Dammit! These ones are far stronger than other golems!) – thought general as he tried counter attacking, only to quickly dodge to the side, barely avoiding a crossbow bolt fired by the knight golem, which ended up piercing and breaking part of a tree.

(Speed, durability and strength are way too high!)

(I can deal with them!)

(But regular soldiers?!) – thought the general as he looked to his side, noticing the knight golems going on the rampage and claiming some of the soldiers lifes.

(Dammit!)

"WEAKLINGS PISS OFF FROM THE ENEMY KNIGHTS!" – shouted general as he fought two knight golems at the same time.

"ELITES! FOCUS ON DEALING WITH THEM!"

It was all out war in the forest.

The soldier knew that they would be dealing with the monsters that already proven themselves to be called "dangerous", since they had already killed a group of armed soldiers before…. But still, they lacked a specific informations about the monsters, and so when it came down to fighting these monsters the soldier were completely caught off guard.

Especially against the knight golem who had been designed as the highest level threat.

However, neither was the kingdom army a bunch of weaklings.

Unlike before, they were not caught in the middle of a trap where the soldiers were surrounded from all directions, nor they army was completely made out weaklings.

It was a solid battle where both sides gave their all.

However, it is still unclear yet who will truly win this "war".

The results are still uncertain.
