"Quest?" Blaze was the first one to ask. His eyes were sparkling with interest as he looked at me, waiting for me to continue. The others also bore the same expression, despite not saying anything.
"Do you remember the time when I searched the Devil's house? At that time, I had chanced upon his diary. While most of it was gibberish, I did happen to find a bunch of interesting articles regarding a certain location mentioned in it. Earlier, I kind of wanted to go alone, but now that most of you are level 15 and above, I think having you will make things a lot easier for me," I said with a serious look on my face, while I analyzed their expressions.
It was true that I first decided to go alone. Getting all the rewards to myself and obtaining the Legendary Class, along with everything that the temple had to offer, was pretty much tempting. But recalling how I barely stumbled upon the whole quest, and could somewhat finish it by luck, I understood that whatever I had obtained in that temple was not all that place had to offer.
Limited by my vocabulary in the Ancient Language, I was barely able to solve half the puzzles while fighting my way into the temple. Plus, a high number of monsters were often guarding some of the gates than the others, making me go around them through another path.
Even if I did somehow defeat them this time, I am not sure I would be able to do it alone. Especially the part that required me to fight the Guardian.
Last time, I lost badly against him. But because I had an ancient Relic of the God of Time with me, he decided to let me pass. Hmmmm… now that I think about it, where did I get that relic again? That was something that I didn't remember before. I thought as I tried to get back to the roots of that relic, but I always happen to fail to.
Thinking of the old times, indeed, there were too many luck factors involved.
Looking at the 5 players in front of me, I guessed that with them, defeating the guardian and even getting to the other floors and the secret rooms would be possible. Perhaps I can chance upon even more items than before.
As for the fact that one of them was to get the Legendary Class while we were there… it was impossible.
Most, if not all, puzzles were written in the Ancient Language. Without me, or perhaps an NPC adept in Arcadian Language, it would be impossible to even get through the first part of the gates, let alone the whole temple.
As for the Last Puzzle, it was, even though written in simple Ancient Language, something that no one right now could break into.
What will you do with this power?
I recalled the words that were written at the end of the stage, whose answer was, for the most part, your true desire to use the power. Any lie would simply break you out of the temple, rendering you unfit for the class. The same pattern was also followed for the other Legendary Classes when they reached the end stage.
Lucky me, the answer must also be given in the Arcadian Language.
Though, despite all of this, I would still not allow anyone else to get into the last room, in case things go from bad to worse. At worst, I would just kill them all and take that class once again. That is the sole thing I cannot compromise on, in the whole of the quest.
But still. Let's leave future troubles to the future. I thought before turning to the people in front of me.
"This quest might be trickier and more complex than the one we just did. According to the diary, even the devil was unable to comprehend the horrors that place was hiding. So, as I mentioned that the rewards would be good, I will also say that the stakes would be raised even higher. And yeah, I am talking about the terms of account suspension for a week or even a month in real time," I spoke, adding a slight pause, observing the 5 of them before finishing with advice,
"So, think carefully before you decide to join in on it. Especially if you are considering making a future in Arcadia Online."
I believed that 5 of them would ask for an hour or at least a few days before deciding something so important. But much to my surprise…
"I am in!" Blaze responded without any hesitation on his face.
"Me too," Link added.
"I don't mind an adventure," Trisha said, while Raven simply nodded in agreement.
Since G was going to follow Trisha, his response was pretty much the same as hers.
That was surprising. I thought, a bit amazed, before reconsidering the whole thing. I didn't know if it was the rewards or the trust in me, but I kind of liked the enthusiasm they were showing.
"All right. Then, I have a few conditions regarding this. First, nobody should know our method to get to the place. You can stream once we reach the mentioned area, but I would rather not know about the method to get there. Also, once we get there, I need you all to follow my commands at all costs. Even if I were to ask you all to die, I need you to die."
All of them looked at me with a puzzled expression, though rather than rejecting my idea, they waited for me to continue.
I nodded before adding," Well, hopefully it won't come to that. But if I am going to command something like this, trust me that dying would be much better than continuing the game."
For example, getting killed by the Guardian, who can put a curse on you, can make your in-game character inactive for months. At that point, if you were to commit suicide within the game, you would at most lose only a few levels rather than lose an entire month of time that you could have used for something beneficial.
As for the response that I received…
"Well. We had already made 3 times more money than we ever did in our entire streaming lives. It is our only chance to get to the top and break through our ordinary lives. Even if we lose everything from this point onwards, the worst would still be better than what we are doing right now. So… we are in," Blaze spoke for himself and Link. His eyes were seemingly thanking me once again for all that I had done for him.
"Sounds fun," Raven answered briefly.
"Well. If Raven doesn't have any problem, I am not going to back down either. Plus, Boss! We have you, so at least there is some reassurance," Trisha winked at me playfully, to which I chuckled and nodded.
Well. I guess, since everyone is ready, I should start preparations as well. I thought as I then began explaining them the few things that they would be needing on this journey.
