MMORPG: Rebirth of the Legendary TimeKeeper

Chapter 113: Travel: Night 2

Unlike the night near that boss, this time we didn't have any sort of protection against the monsters in the night. Adding to that, deep in this forest, it was almost impossible to deal with any monsters we were going to face.

Each monster was at least level 100, and if caught, we wouldn't be able to defeat them. The least we can do is use our skills to push them away, stun them, and then hopefully run away before they catch up to us.

So, camping without any sort of preparation here was just asking to get killed.

All right. It's about time, then. I mumbled before looking at the dusk time almost upon us.

The first thing that I set up was this.

[Illusion Scroll]

It was another scroll that I had asked Lloyd to bring for me. At least 12 of them.

A single [Illusion Scroll] lasted for about an hour, giving a space for the adventurers where the monsters won't intervene. Though monsters can enter this space randomly, they won't be able to see any players or their items whatsoever.

It was our first line of defense to avoid them, and hopefully, that's all we would need right now.

Other than that, I also had three [Bait Clone Scroll] that created a copy of any of the players with a high amount of aggro. It usually ran fast and took all the monsters away from the players, enough for them to run away.

Lastly, adding to all that, I also had a dozen [Blinding]. [Lose Focus] and [Sleep] scrolls that could be used based on the situation.

Using the first [Illusion Scroll], I then went into the camp to rest and restore. The least we could hope for now is that we survive the night without any mishaps.

"Boss. Can we talk for a moment?" A feminine voice came, as the most silent person in our group, Raven came into the same camp as mine. She looked at me for permission before I nodded, and then she sat opposite me.

"I wanted to ask. Can I hire you for something?" She asked, looking at me with utmost seriousness. To which I pondered before saying,

"Sure. I'll listen to it first, though."

"I… am being monitored. Is there any way I can prevent people from getting all the information they are gaining through me? I mean, they can't see it directly through a livestream like in Blaze's case, but all the things that are going on here are being recorded. Once I log out of here, everything that happened here will be sent to a few people that…" her voice trailed off as she saw the serious expression on my face.

Hmmm. I did not consider her situation to be that bad. Is she a pawn? Perhaps she was sacrificed in my last life. I thought before speaking,

"Elai moeia nojef alkm. Mail na lea na. Mila na elaj aw liea mpiae. (And all that is seen. Is seen only by the almighty. For the mortal remembers nothing more than she should.)"

[You have consumed 100% of your MP to force toggle a command!]

This should erase the entire recording of this session. I pondered before looking at her surprised expression. She just stared at me for a few seconds, blankly as her eyes widened.

"Boss-"

"It's all right. This should have solved your problem," I said with a slight smile, making her sigh before nodding. She thanked me before a slight, hesitant expression appeared on her face.

She fiddled with his fingers for a few seconds before adding,

"Boss. I… wanted to ask if you had a great background in your life. And… if you can help me out of my situation."

She was about to add a bit more, but I stopped her,

"If it's about your personal life, I don't think I can help you out. At least not now."

Her eyes, though slowly saddened, then darted back at me with a deep gaze. Trying to find the meaning behind my words, she gulped before waiting for my explanation.

"Right now, I am going through a lot of things in real life. I have to settle so many things, find so many people, and tie up a lot of loose ends. As much as I would love to help you, I won't be able to put that in my schedule immediately. Though if things get better in my life, and we are still friends at that time, perhaps I can hear you out then," I said with a serious expression before pondering about a few more things.

Taking on a bunch of assassins is easy, but the aftermath of dealing with it is not something I can handle. Plus, more often than not, each of the Assassin groups has its own connections and backing. In case I wipe out one of the group, it would be akin to going against at least a dozen families and even more. I knew this path very well. It was a path that I had walked once, and honestly, I would rather not do it again.

At least without a lot… and I mean, a LOT of preparations.

"How long…" Raven spoke as she trailed off again… to which I pondered before answering,

"A few months? A year or two? Something like that. The number of problems I have is a lot," I said with a slight exhaustion appearing on my face just by thinking about it.

"I'll wait," Raven then spoke with a firm expression as she looked at me, to which I nodded. She then added again,

"I'll survive, no matter what."

Looking at her determined expression as if she was betting her whole life on it, I sighed. I kind of felt bad for ignoring her problems, but it's not like I can do anything to solve them. Unless I eradicate it from the roots, it would be similar to placing a sniper on my back.

I guess I've got another reason to hurry things up and build my stronghold fast. I mumbled before I saw Raven thanking me once again before leaving the camp with a slightly better expression than when she entered.
