MMORPG: Rebirth of the Legendary TimeKeeper

Chapter 115: Reaching the Temple

Walking through the wasteland was more of a puzzle-based adventure than a fighting one.

We had to solve puzzles written in the Arcadian Language, search objects on our path, and use them in the correct sequence.

An example would be finding the immortal eyes of a gorgon in an ancient grave and then using them to unlock the mechanical array of the next area. Or finding the lost key behind a small ruin we happened to come across and using it to open a small box we found later in the desert, which had the missing part of an array we would require later.

It was fun at first, but after doing it more than 4 times, it honestly became a chore.

Even after knowing all the lore, the Arcadian Language that played a major part in the puzzles and the secret hidden ways to stay away from encountered monsters based on the descriptive lore that I had known, we were somehow able to cross a huge amount of the wasteland without needing to use any of the items we had.

The lore fanatics of our group, that is Link, Blaze, and Trisha, went all in asking about every little thing that we encountered. While I did not allow streaming until we reached the temple, I did allow them to record everything so that they could edit and post it after we were done with the temple.

Because I also did a huge amount of research in my last life to gain even a little bit of advantage over the others, I do happen to know way too much about this whole thing in-game.

I knew everything about the trinkets, the backstory about the graves, the monsters, the references, the legends.

Though rather than telling them everything, I just briefed a few more lines and stories, rather than going into complete details. Honestly, it would be odd if I knew so much in detail about so many things when the game was barely 2 weeks out.

"Is that the temple?" Blaze asked, excited as he saw the temple slowly revealing itself after we solved the last array puzzle on our way.

The first thing that came into our view was the giant towering gate, surrounded by hills on both sides. The gate was at least 50 meters tall, and the walls above it were 50 meters more.

The gray-coloured gate had hundreds of golden and silver patterns etched on it from all sides, branching into the center where a greenish-blue gem was embedded. At the edge of the gate, two giant gargoyle statues stood there, seemingly alive as if they would attack anyone who would approach them.

"This is… kind of scary," Trisha, who was the most excited up until now, looked at the gargoyles in horror.

"What kind of temple is it? Something demonic, perhaps?" Link asked out loud.

"Maybe. I mean, we did deal with the devil, and it was his diary that pointed to here," Blaze gave his own thought into it.

"Gargoyls," Raven, who was silent, then added," are symbols of guardians. They ward off evil entities and keep the demons at bay. Even if they look like that, they are not demonic creatures. Churches and many religious buildings have been using them as protectors for centuries."

The others, hearing Raven's words, calmed down a bit. Looking at the Gargoyles, who were still seemingly scary, they didn't feel as alarmed as before.

I guess that's not wrong, considering this was a safe zone in my past life where monsters didn't come. Still surprising that Raven would know about that. I thought as I looked at Raven and nodded.

"In the modern temples and churches in Arcadia, you won't find them. But if you go into secluded areas that have big churches, you will always find a Gorgoyl present there," I said before recalling something more about these creatures and adding,

"Other than the Fire Temple, which uses symbols more often than creatures, Gargoyles are often considered a type of Guardian that many of the high-level high-class players can even summon. Honestly, I think you can even get a cool class if you research this whole thing."

There was one Unique-Class related to Gargoyles. I think it was called [Kin of Gargoyles] or something.

Blaze and Link were seemingly interested in it, but the one who was most fascinated by this piece of information was Raven, who seemed to want to know more about it. I chuckled at her reaction before saying,

"If you want to know more about it, we can discuss it later after we are done with the temple. Also, Blaze, you can start streaming now."

Since we were in the safe zone, I set up a safe camp in the corner and set up a [Save Point] where I would return to in case I died. Following my direction, the others also repeated the same.

"All right. Now that we are about to enter the temple, I would like to remind you of a few things.

First, nobody is going to disobey even a single order I give. And I won't be giving orders just by the words, but also through our party communications channels, so pay attention to that at times.

Second, do not wander off too far from me. I don't want to trigger any monsters that would wipe us out in a single go.

Third, all the items we collect will be kept in TristanBear's storage. They will be distributed accordingly after the entire raid is done.

And lastly, fourth, if I ask you to die, you die. I would definitely compensate you for that later with something, but if you disobey, we would part ways, and you will always have me on your tail for the rest of the Arcadia you would be playing.

Are we clear on that?" I said out loud in the most serious tone I could muster, making them all nod at it without any hesitation on their faces.

"Okay then. Let's start the raid," I then nodded before turning to the temple in front of us.
