The story of the Roosvelt siblings, that is Joshua Roosvelt and Angelica Roosevelt, is an interesting one.
If you look back about 2 years ago, the siblings did fairly well and belonged to a well-to-do family. Not exactly the high-end rich type, but still quite wealthy in their own regard. Enough to hold a couple of mansions and a major clothing industry business, plus or minus a few more smaller ones.
But despite all the love the family had for each other, things changed severely after the car accident that took their parents' as well as the aunt's lives of the Roosevelt siblings.
It was the same aunt who held the majority of the business, succeeded in enrolling into the Regalia University with her connections, and used her recommendation letter to help Angelica get admission in the same. She was also the main face of the Roosevelt family and helped the business bloom over the last decade.
Turns out that the entire family hated that aunt, and also Angelica behind their backs. And once the parents and the doting aunt were no more, they didn't bother hiding their fangs from the young siblings. It included their grandparents, uncles, and aunts. Both from the maternal side as well as the paternal side.
The siblings were cut off from the family and were thrown to survive on their own. Everything they owned was stolen from them through fraud, while the siblings could just watch in agony, losing their family as well as their means of livelihood.
Left with bare savings and the stream account money Joshua had collected from his hobby, the siblings chose an affordable apartment and the entire financial burden fell upon the young Joshua, who somehow took the role of the earning member of the family.
It was obvious that once Angelica got out of Regalia, she could earn enough to support both of them, but that term was still 3 years long back then, or at least a year away if counted from the events when Ezekiel entered their lives. Until then, the semester money, the food, the rent, and everything needed to be paid were upon Joshua.
Though as life would have it…
"Josh! Can you help me move this?!" Angelica shouted as she pushed the Sofa in the living room of her new apartment.
With their life getting better than before, they could now afford to live closer to Regalia University in a safer society than the previous one. It was one of the most lavish societies of the area where only the richest of the rich lived, and for now, Joshau and Angelica were going to rent the cheapest apartment in this locality for 6 months.
The plan was to buy it out after earning enough money from the stream.
"Let me rest!!!!!" Joshua shouted back in irritation. He had been conscious for more than 72 hours in-game and had to work right after coming offline. Even though most of the work was done, some fine adjustments were still left with the furniture.
"It's the last one!" Angelica shouted again. She had done with everything else in the living room by herself, but this sofa was heavier than she could handle.
"I swear if it's not the last one, I am gonna kill you!" Joshua shouted before humping into the living room with heavy steps. Pushing that sofa with all his might into its proper place, he then glared at her, asking if there was something else.
"All right. Go to sleep now, I am going to take a bath," Angelica spoke with slight excitement on her face, as this place had a rather luxurious bathtub as well. It was something that her friends always boasted about, and she could only listen and curse in silence.
Now that she had one of her own, she was going to utilise it every day.
-Ring! Ring!
Joshua's phone rang. He took it out of his pants, checked the number, and cut the call before blocking it.
"Who was it?" Angelica asked, a bit concerned.
"Uncle John. He has been trying to reach me ever since the stream," he added.
Angelica's face turned ashen as she almost cursed out loud. But then, knowing that it won't be worth it, she calmed herself before asking,
"Do you think they would come back to trouble us?"
They were cheap bastards who would throw two children to die just because they were jealous. It was totally possible that they could use underhanded methods to harm them now that the same kids had started to do better than the entire family combined.
"Why do you think I chose a place with a monthly rent of $10,000? It is the only place in the entire city where they would think twice before entering. That is, if they can afford to enter," Joshua said nonchalantly before adding,
"Just in case, I have also asked the guards and the landlord not to let anyone enter our apartment. Especially if they say that they are our family."
Angelica nodded with a relieved expression before asking,
"Will you be returning to the game?"
Joshua shook his head before saying,
"Boss said to take a full day's break. We will probably continue the raid tomorrow morning around 8 AM. Also, if Gregory wakes up before me, ask him to wake me up before 6 tomorrow. Based on how tired I am, I think I am going to have a long sleep."
Unlike Joshua, who was busy helping Angelica with the new apartment set up, Gregory just set up his own bed within their apartment's separate room and went in for a comfy sleep. Somehow, he was far more tired than Joshua, despite both of them being awake for the same time.
Perhaps the exhaustion of creating the videos and managing them for the past week compounded, resulting in him falling into a deep sleep immediately after logging off.
"Sure. I will be going now," Angelica said before moving towards the bathroom, while Joshua yawned as he nodded and went towards his own room.
-Ring! Ring!
The phone rang once more with another unknown number, the 17th one today, showing on the display screen.
-Click! Hello, Joshua? Click!
Joshua picked it up, heard the voice, and cut the call. With a slight yawn, he blocked the number before switching off his phone and entering his room, where he just lay on the bed and drifted into deep sleep.
