The sound of soft bells chimed within the white walls of the classroom as the lecture came to an end.

Kathrine clapped once and gave everyone a wide smile as she spoke, "Alright everyone, that will be enough for today. You will now attend combat class at the training centre."

She turned to the door and began to leave, but just as she reached the door she halted in her steps and turned toward to look at Jaden.

"Student Jaden," she spoke.

Jaden looked at her with a surprised expression, he had assumed that Kathrine didn't know her name, but now she was calling him by it. His eyes widened slightly as he remembered, 'Arden had shouted my name...'

"Yes, miss Kathrine," he responded.

Seeing that she had his attention, Kathrine continued with her lips pressed into a thin line, "It would do you no good if you continue to be disrespectful to the teachers or instructors."

His expression turned sombre as he nodded before apologising, "I am sorry for the disrespect, miss Kathrine."

Kathrine gave him a short nod before leaving the classroom, her departing words stilled in the air, "Get going everyone."

Jaden continued to stare at the doorway with a solemn look. Just then someone hit his back with an open palm.

"Haha Jaden, how are you?" Navin asked with a wide grin as he patted Jaden's back with a slightly more force.

Jaden rolled his eyes, turned towards him with a slight smile and spoke, "I am fine... for now at least," he said the last words while staring at Navin's right hand.

Navin gave him a sheepish smile and opened his lips to speak but before he could do so a cheerful voice cut him off, "JAAADDDEEENNN!"

Jaden's lips curved up in a wide smile, but he didn't turn towards the voice. Just then a pair of hands hugged from behind and Arden peeked at him from the side as he asked, "Aye! Are you ignoring me?"

The corners of Jaden's lips trembled slightly as they rose up in a smirk. Seeing that Arden shook his head and added while pointing at Jamie, "You were living what that thing, weren't you? Looks like it's affecting you."

Hearing Arden mention him as a thing instead of a living being, a furious expression appeared of Jamie's face as she spat, "You bitch! Do you want to die?"

Arden looked at him and displayed a scared act before giving him a mocking look.

"Why don't you try it? You madman! Hehe!" He said as he hid behind Jaden.

Jamie's expression worsened as he raised his hand to summon his grimoire but he stopped as Jaden began to chuck.

A few moments later, Jaden added with a half serious look, "Calm down both of you."

"I am calm," Jamie replied, turned his head to Arden with a wide mad grin, and continued, "Don't worry Ardy... I'll take care of it in training centre."

Colours vanished from Arden's face as he chased after Jamie who had already left for the training centre.

Navin chuckled slightly before patting Jaden's shoulder, "You should talk with her," he said while looking at Selina who stood at the door with her hands clasped at her back.

Jaden responded with a silent nod. Navin walked towards the door and gave a nod to Selina before stepping out.

However, Jaden didn't move till all of the class empty. Once it was empty, he walked towards her as he forced out his practised smile and called out, "Lady—"

Selina cut him off, "Selina. You can call me by name."

He looked into her eyes that screamed: I won't take no for an answer.

A sigh escaped his lips as he shook his head and spoke, "Selina... I know you love me but I don't have—"

She cut him off again, "I can wait."

He stared into her amethyst-like and questioned, "Can you?"

Selina answered, "I can—"

But, Jaden cut her off this time.

"No you can not, do not act as if all of this does not bother you. I can see jealousy, hunger of love and attention in your eyes and... It scares me..."

Selina's expression suddenly turned grave as she softly held his head with her trembling hands, tears welled up at the corners of her eyes as she asked, "W-what do you mean it s-scares you? Don't tell me you are scared of me... you are not, right? Right?!"

Jaden let out a shaky breath as he replied, "I am not scared of you... I am scared that I would never be able to give you the love you seek from me."

Her grip tightened on his head as she moved closer, now they barely had any free space between them.

She stared into his eyes with an obsessive look—A look Jaden had only seen when he was trapped within the hex of Elara peace.

"Why does it matter?" She spoke, "Why does it matter if you lost some of your memories? We can just make new ones... together. You are MINE no matter if you have your memories or not... I'll always love you the same. Then why do you care so much about those memories? Why? Why?" She spoke, her voice got kouder with each passing moment.

He took a few steps back and looked at her with a grave look as he muttered, "I don't want it to be like this... I want to remember everything, I want to know everything... that's simply what I desire."

The room fell into silence after his words, a few moments passed in that stifling environment Selina spoke with a shaking voice, "W-we are g-getting late. L-let's go."

Jaden nodded and she walked out of the room right after. He followed behind her as both of them moved towards the training centre.

Many things were said, many were not. But, there was a single truth that couldn't be denied and that was they had come closer.
