The flames coming off the dragon crackled violently, bending the air.

Raito gritted his teeth.

"What should I even do to overcome this feat? I have to win this. I must win this."

His eyes sharpened, fear and determination mixing into something unbreakable.

The World Eater Dragon opened its jaws wide toward Raito, waiting, almost curious, to see what final trick he could possibly use before being devoured.

But Raito already knew the truth.

No attack I have will defeat him not like this.

He raised his hand.

"I summon Familiar.

I summon Undead Dragon."

A massive notification flashed:

[Undead Dragon has been summoned from the Hunter Domain.]

[LP cost: 1000]

The World Eater Dragon stopped, jaws closing as its eyes focused on the corpse dragon materializing beside Raito, its size equal to his own.

"Oh" the monster growled. "A dragon this large yet dead. Do you think this will defeat me?"

Before Raito responded, the Undead Dragon slammed its massive head forward with a roar that shook the dungeon.

Raito lifted his hand again.

"I don't expect it to defeat you," he said. "But this isn't all."

He raised his arm high.

"Summon: 1000 Undead."

A thousand Undead Knights appeared, floating in mid air, Raito refusing to let them touch the ground since it had become molten lava. They rotated around the Undead Dragon, forming armor like layers.

The World Eater Dragon chuckled.

"Is this truly the best you can do? I've taken my true form, I want to see if you can provide a fight worthy of it. Even though we both know the moment I hit you, you die."

Raito smiled slightly.

"This fight has given me a lot of LP so I'll sacrifice it."

He tapped the Undead Dragon's status window:

[Increase Undead Dragon's Strength LP Sacrifice Required]

[Strength determined by LP sacrificed.]

[Will inherit user's aura.]

"I don't have a choice," Raito said. "I'll sacrifice 45000 LP."

[Consume 45000 LP to enhance Undead Dragon and fuse Undead Knights?]

The moment he accepted, the Undead Dragon ignited with a violent purple glow. Flames poured from its eyes, its fangs blackened, and its wings were wrapped in dense purple death aura.

Another notification hit Raito:

"What already?" Raito hissed.

"Well I did summon an Undead Dragon AND one thousand Undead Knights. This is it. With no mana no healing no skills the Undead Dragon is my final hope."

Raito raised his hand.

Below, the empowered Undead Dragon flapped its wings once, its mouth glowing with swirling purple aura.

Then

Both dragons collided.

Jaw against jaw.

Bone against scale.

The dungeon trembled.

Raito clenched his fist.

"Sacrifice: 10000 LP!"

[Undead Dragon's Aura GREATLY Enhanced]

Purple flames erupted violently, covering the Undead Dragon like armor. It pushed forward, forcing the mighty World Eater Dragon back.

For the first time, the colossal monster looked shocked.

It was being pushed.

It was being overpowered.

The dragons separated, locked eyes, then both inhaled.

Red black flame gathered in the World Eater Dragon's mouth.

Purple destructive aura gathered in the Undead Dragon's.

Both fired.

BOOOOOOM!!!

The dungeon cracked apart.

Stone collapsed.

Lava splashed upward.

The air shattered with heat.

The World Eater Dragon's flame slowly overpowered the purple blast, pushing it back.

The Undead Dragon was losing.

Raito's expression hardened.

I'm going to lose unless I do something now.

He activated Shadow Phase.

His body vanished, invincible, untouchable, undetectable. His mana suppressed to zero. Even the dragon couldn't sense him.

He slipped through the air…

Through the flames…

And silently landed on top of the World Eater Dragon's skull.

And then Raito looked down.

As he stretched out his hand, his coarse blade appeared in his grip.

Good… he still hasn't noticed me. He's too focused on the battle.

If I don't do this now, I won't be able to defeat him. The moment he kills the Undead Dragon, I'm dead. I only have a split second, a moment where he's not focused. The World Eater Dragon roared, blinded, its massive body jerking in pain.

But he wasn't done.

Raito immediately choked the coarse blade deeper, forcing more damage into the dragon's ruined eye.

Both eyes were now blinded.

The Undead Dragon reacted instantly, realizing its opponent had lost focus. It let out a furious undead roar.

Raito jumped away from the skull, away from the heat, away from the eruption that was coming.

The moment the World Eater Dragon lost concentration

The Undead Dragon fired.

A colossal blast of purple burning energy exploded from its mouth, the beam growing larger, hotter, more violent

and then it slammed directly into the World Eater Dragon's face, consuming everything.

The World Eater Dragon crashed to the ground.

The Undead Dragon collapsed right after, its energy gone.

Silence.

Then

[Mana Fully Recovered]

[LP Gained: +150000]

[SP Gained: +100000]

[HP Gained: +100000]

[New Skill Unlocked: Fire Magic]

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

[User has reached Level 35]

Then another notification flickered in front of Raito's eyes:

[Target's Mana Level Critically Low]

[Condition Met: Blood Manipulation Can Now Be Used]

Raito's eyes widened.

Finally it worked. His mana is low enough. I can use it.

He tightened his grip, staring at the half destroyed, blinded dragon struggling on the ground. Its blood was boiling, spilling, leaking through wounds it could no longer heal. Its body twitched, massive claws digging into the ground as it tried to rise.
