But it was too weak.
Raito lifted his hand.
A thin vibration filled the air
then the blood inside the dragon's body began to shiver.
Raito smirked.
Now you're mine.
Raito stretched his hand toward the Undead Dragon, and a notification popped up:
[Blood Manipulation Activated]
With focused thoughts, Raito controlled the blood inside the Undead Dragon. Instantly, blood splashed violently out of its skin—BOOM! Blood poured in torrents, the dragon shrieking in pain.
Raito landed slowly, careful not to touch the molten lava beneath him. The dungeon around them was collapsing, rocks raining down from above.
"Hey! Sorry for this, but you were strong. I'll give you that. The strongest I would have faced today, and now I've defeated you. I've confirmed there is no hunter stronger than me right now," Raito said.
The Undead Dragon opened its mouth, then closed it with a pained grunt.
"Wow I truly appreciate this. I'm glad. Thank you not only for quenching my hunger," it rasped. "Some of us have been brought here for thousands of years, and never never in a single battle did I imagine being defeated. It's pathetic that I was defeated by a human. It pains me. It's unbearable. But still you are strong. You might be the strongest hunter there is. I've been here since this portal opened. This portal was meant only for you to conquer. Even if all S rank hunters came together, none could have defeated me. I can guarantee that. You you are truly strong."
Raito listened, nodding, his eyes focused.
"Wait what do you mean? Are you saying a demon could be stronger than you?" he asked.
"Yes. Not all demons, but some are stronger than me. Some high ranking demons can even tame dragons, creatures you might struggle to defeat. But you for a human, your potential is immense. You might truly be the one capable of challenging demons and all the dangerous beings in this world," the World Eater Dragon said.
Raito nodded, understanding the weight of the moment.
He focused, controlling every drop of the dragon's blood to his will. It surged toward the dragon's head, and with a final, crushing motion, the head was torn off. Blood poured endlessly—the dragon was dead.
[World Eater Dragon Consumed by Greed]
[LP & Skill Rewards Pending]
The massive body of the dragon disintegrated, absorbed into the system. Raito paused, considering what Greed might yield a weapon, or something even greater for him. The dungeon continued to crumble.
He stretched his hand toward the Undead Dragon, summoning it one last time before it vanished.
[Raito Level Up: 35 → 45]
[LP Gained: 100,000; Total LP: 250,000]
Raito teleported to the dungeon floor where Golem, Haruya, and Daichi lay unconscious. Rocks rained down, but his magic shield protected them as they recovered.
A voice echoed through the collapsing ruins:
"You human. You have finally defeated this dungeon. One title remains for you," the Dungeon Guardian said.
A notification immediately appeared:
[Title Gained: Dragon Slayer]
Raito smirked, grabbing Haruya and Daichi. He teleported out as the dungeon collapsed behind him. Mask on, cap pulled low, he carried Daichi on one shoulder, Haruya on his back, stepping through the portal into the outside world.
Cameras flashed, hunters gasped. A voice shouted:
"Hey! You what are you doing here? Did you enter that dungeon?! You shouldn't have! This dungeon its rank is beyond S. No one is supposed to go in! Follow me now!"
Raito looked at the hunter, calm and composed.
"Well I can't. I already cleared it," he said.
The hunter grabbed Raito's arm.
"What do you mean you cleared it? You're joking, right? I know you are follow me. If you're strong enough to go in and come out alive, then maybe you stayed on the first floor and somehow survived. You might be a strong hunter, so follow me. We'll evaluate you, and if you're strong, we'll assign you as backup for the main raid team."
Raito stared at him.
"I just told you," he said calmly, "I already cleared it. So get out of the way."
Everyone froze.
He said he cleared it.
Reporters blinked in disbelief. Cameras zoomed in on him. His mask and cap hid his face completely, so no one recognized him.
"Who are you?" one reporter shouted. "You claim to have cleared it already?! But no hunter is capable of—this is the only thing that's ever come out and survived! This dungeon its beyond S rank! No one has ever—"
"Speak! Speak! Speak!" more reporters yelled, microphones shoved toward him as cameras flashed wildly.
"What do you mean you cleared it?! What's your name? Where are you from? What rank are you?!"
Raito didn't answer.
The ground trembled.
Then the portal behind him closed.
A loud VWOOOM echoed in the air as the gate vanished completely.
Everyone went silent.
A reporter's voice cracked, "…Is… is that man telling the truth? Did you actually clear it?"
Another reporter pointed at Daichi and Haruya hanging unconscious in Raito's grip.
"These two! why are they unconscious? Did this man bring them out?!"
Reporters surged forward again.
"Speak!"
"Who are you?!"
"What rank are you?!"
"Where is the boss?!"
"Did you defeat it?!"
Cameras snapped nonstop—click, click, click, click!
Raito gritted his teeth.
I have to get out of here. They've already seen Daichi and Haruya's faces. I can't let them connect anything. I can't stay here.
Raito tightened his hold on Daichi and Haruya and then he flew straight upward.
Everyone gasped.
"What?!"
"He can fly?!"
"Is he a mage? No… that speed what kind of hunter is he?!"
"Keep filming! KEEP FILMING!"
Cameras pointed up, lights flashing at him as he ascended higher and higher.
For a moment, the world was staring at him.
Then
He turned invisible.
The crowd panicked.
"Where did he go?!"
"He vanished!"
"He disappeared into thin air someone check the sky!"
But Raito was already gone, moving through the air unnoticed until he landed quietly in front of his apartment.
He looked down at himself.
