To his words, the instructor only displayed an amused grin, and in the next moment, he dipped his hand into the drawer and brought out a couple of objects.
"Actually, it's not just your device."
"You also have a few other items now that you're a second year. Another device, more advanced, as expected," he said, bringing out a new device in a box.
"And your purple dorm room card for your new place in the second year dorm area, and of course, your file," he added, bringing out a bag that contained the device as well as the files.
"Nice," Everlearn said, picking up the items and putting them all into his bag before he continued to the exit.
But when he did, he couldn't help but notice there was no knob on the door.
It was a wall door, completely smooth in design, probably only activated by the one who had closed it.
He turned his head to Sir Lycanthrope, who he found reclining in his seat with a mocking, evil grin on his face.
"I forgot to mention that the door only opens with my permission, and I still have a pending question yet to be answered," he said, but in the next moment,
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The entire room shook as Everlearn smashed a punch into the wall.
Cracks raced through the surface, and a two-meter-wide door was blasted out of the wall, tumbling into the distance a couple of times before coming to a stop.
"Oops, I broke the door," Everlearn mused, dripping with fake innocence as he turned to Sir Lycanthrope, whose eyes quivered in disbelief.
"Thankfully, that isn't against the rules. Though I might probably get fined for the damage."
"That's sad."
"Oh, right, I remember. I got ten thousand points from the expedition, didn't I? And the door fix probably costs, what, twenty points at most?"
"Huuuuu, lucky me."
Everlearn said with obvious mockery in his voice before he resumed his walk toward the elevator in the distance.
"See you around, Sir Lycan," he said with a wave, but his hand had yet to reach for the elevator door when,
CRAAACK
CRAAACK
CRAAACK
The sounds of cracking echoed out, and he paused, looking at his feet.
Cracks spread through the floor, racing past him and straight down to the elevator.
He turned behind him.
The entire corridor was covered in fractures, all leading back to the humongous figure in the office.
Sir Lycanthrope.
He had risen to his feet, the desk before him turning to ashes from the horrifying wave of power oozing from him.
His hands reached for his sleeves, folding them up, revealing bulging veins, while his other hand shifted to his neck as he adjusted his tie.
"Everlearn Snowfall."
"Arguably the strongest and most brilliant newcomer among the newcomers."
"Achievements like this are good things for one initially deemed ordinary in every aspect."
"Up until they forget that all of this was only due to them getting lucky, and allow it to get into their head."
BAAAAAAAAANG!
The ground shook heavily as he took a single step forward.
"It blinds them to the reality of the difference that exists between true power and being lucky."
"In your case, you seem to have forgotten there's a difference between a naive Newcomer and an X Guard Academy Instructor."
"I will do you a favor and remind you of it."
He said this as Everlearn watched him step forward, his deadpan expression shifting into a smirk, which soon broke apart into a wild, evil grin.
He clicked the button on the elevator, throwing his bag inside before stepping back toward Sir Lycanthrope.
"If you wanted to see what I'm capable of, you could have simply begged for it. Would have saved us both the unnecessary talks."
He said this with disdain and mockery, and in that moment, Sir Lycanthrope paused in his steps before he completely faded away.
A towering shadow loomed over Everlearn, who watched as the instructor blinked into existence right before him, his massive hand only inches away from his face.
"You're just an ignorant idiot oblivious to true power," Sir Lycanthrope said without much change in his expression, yet Everlearn's eyes did not look at the incoming attack but straight into his.
"And you simply don't know what it means to be a lucky one…"
VROOOOOOOOOOOM!
The palm blasted through Everlearn's face, but Sir Lycanthrope's expression twisted when he felt no weight in his grip.
'He dodged it!?'
His eyes widened when he found Everlearn crouched on his own outstretched fist as if he weighed less than a feather.
"You call that speed?"
VROOOOOM!
The air to his side blasted apart as Sir Lycanthrope slapped out with his other hand, but it waved past the kid, who leapt off his arm, the palm wheezing just beneath his head, as he hung upside down in the air.
BOOOOOOOOM!
The entire ground beneath Sir Lycanthrope collapsed as a kick smashed atop his head, blowing him clean through the floor.
Revolving mid-air, Everlearn silently landed on both feet, looking down into the hole in the ground, where the instructor, though still on his feet, remained frozen like one who had seen a ghost.
He was able to step down to continue but paused himself at the last moment, taking back his feet.
"X Guard Academy Instructor..." He mused with an eyeroll before turning his back and resuming towards the elevator.
Just a couple of centimeters away, the entire corridor exploded outward as a figure burst from the ground.
"YOU WILL DIEEEE!"
Sir Lycanthrope's voice thundered, fiery golden veins covering his face as he locked his gaze forward, finding Everlearn, who silently pressed the elevator button.
BOOOOOOOM!
The air shook as Sir Lycanthrope launched forward with terrifying speed, but before he could reach him, the elevator door shot closed, a gigantic dent smashing into its surface, but not stopping it at all.
____
DIIIIIIIING!
A second ding rang out as Everlearn stepped out of the elevator, the bag in his hand.
Unhurriedly, he made his way to the exit, though the staff around couldn't help but turn their heads when a figure stormed out from the ceiling above.
"Sir Lycanthrope?!"
They looked on in shock at the devilish instructor, whose shining eyes scanned the room.
He looked at the exit just in time to see Everlearn stepping out.
SHATTTTER!
The entire entrance glass blew to fragments as Sir Lycanthrope's golden claw smashed through it.
Upon stepping outside, he paused as he noticed students passing by, some regarding him with raised eyebrows.
His eyes searched everywhere for Everlearn, but the boy was nowhere to be found.
He had long gone.
"I'll find you, you ignorant bastard!"
