As Chang Long stepped into the room filled with mirrors, she saw her reflection in almost every pane. The place resembled a labyrinth, but with no diverging paths—only a single, winding route that led onward. Eventually, she heard a soft jingling sound, like that of a glass chandelier swaying in the wind.
What she found was a circular room, its walls entirely made of mirrors. Inside each mirror, beautiful women were sealed, all lying still with closed eyes and sorrowful expressions. In the center of the room, a glass chandelier extended from the ceiling to the floor, and beside it stood a golden chair, which seemed to be occupied.
The figure on the chair wore an ancient Egyptian priest's robe, adorned with gold jewelry from head to toe, more opulent than that of a Pharaoh. However, his skin was pale and withered, stretched tightly over his bones. The priestly figure reached out to brush the chandelier, creating the jingling sound. He was staring intently at a woman in one of the mirrors, who looked different from the others. This woman had long, flowing silver hair, and though her eyes were closed, they flickered beneath her eyelids as if she were on the verge of waking.
'My lord, that's Murik,'
Cedric informed Chang Long through their telepathic link.
"Murik..."
Chang Long whispered softly, her gaze fixed on the silver-haired woman sealed within the mirror.
"Who are you!"
The figure's voice boomed threateningly as the skinny man with hollow eyes appeared before Chang Long.
"A secret quest has been triggered: Purge the Evil from the Great Temple of Amun-Ra,"
the system notification echoed, surprising Chang Long more than anything else. She wondered if anyone would ever discover this hidden quest without first battling through the hordes of monsters to reach this point.
"Who are you!"
The monstrous figure demanded again, his voice echoing as his skeletal hand reached out, clutching Chang Long's throat. His deep, black eyes stared at her with malevolent intent.
"The Evil High Priest Beast King, Level 99, is preparing to attack,"
the system announced. However, Chang Long was too focused on prying the bony hand from her neck to pay much attention to the warning.
"H Hisa-chan, Spirit Possession!"
Chang Long called out, struggling to speak. As Hisa-chan's spirit merged with her, a powerful and terrifying aura enveloped her, causing the Evil High Priest to instinctively recoil in fear. Chang Long rubbed her reddened neck, her eyes filled with vengeance as she glared at her opponent.
"You rotten ghoul... I'll tell you exactly who I am!"
Chang Long spoke in a cold, authoritative voice that made the Evil High Priest Beast King tremble slightly. The power in her voice and the menacing aura surrounding her made the creature instinctively want to flee. However, bound by its pride as a Beast King and unwilling to abandon its prized collection of beautiful women to the handsome young man standing before it (thankfully, it only thought this to itself)—it remained in place, bravely awaiting what Chang Long had to say.
"I am the Reaper King!"
The Evil High Priest Beast King stared at Chang Long in shock. The Reaper King was the ruler of the Land of the Dead, but according to ancient Egyptian belief, the ruler of the afterlife who judged the souls of the dead was the great god Osiris, was it not?
"D Don't lie to me! You could never be the great god Osiris!"
The creature shouted in anger, thinking she was just trying to scare him. Despite its defiance, it still did not dare to approach Chang Long, as she remained terrifying to a being like it, caught between life and death.
"I never said I was the great god Osiris. That's just your own assumption. I'm here to take the silver-haired woman in the mirror and give you a one-way trip to hell for the crime of daring to choke me!"
With that, Chang Long spun her sword and launched herself at the Evil High Priest Beast King. In response, it quickly summoned its dual blades, which resembled daggers about fifty centimeters long.
The monster crossed its daggers in an X to block Chang Long's attack, but that was a grave mistake. The force of her strike drove the creature to its knees, slamming them into the ground. Despite the durability of its weapons, cracks began to appear along the surface of its daggers.
"Kneel! Before the king who holds the power over your soul!"
Chang Long shouted. She pulled her sword back and turned as if to walk away, giving the monster an opportunity. It lunged at her from behind, moving with incredible speed. But Chang Long was faster. She whirled around to face the monster again, lifting her left leg high before slamming it down on the monster's right shoulder with tremendous force.
Thud!
"Aaaargh!"
The creature's body collapsed, its knees crashing against the stone floor with a loud thud, causing small pieces of the stone to break off. Both of its swords flew from its hands, and its right shoulder, struck by Chang Long's heel, slumped unnaturally. It let out a piercing scream of agony, its pain evident.
"Not bad, at least you have manner,"
Chang Long said coldly to the Evil High Priest Beast King. It spat blood from its mouth in fury, retreating its now crippled body further away.
"You will pay for what you've done to me!"
The monster roared. Black smoke began to form into balls in its hands, and it grinned wickedly before hurling the smoke balls to the ground. The black smoke, thrown to the ground, slowly took the shape of Egyptian priests wielding horsehair whips, looking identical to the heretical priest beasts outside the room, with levels that were formidable.
"Heretical Priest Beasts, Level 42, have appeared."
The four summoned priests immediately rushed toward Chang Long without any command, forcing her to fall back and defend herself. However, she did not seem concerned about the monster's ability to call for reinforcements.
"You think you're the only one with minions? Dark Wraiths!"
Chang Long sneered at the Evil High Priest Beast King before revoking the skill from the Eye of Darkness. In the empty space before her, three whirlwinds the size of a person—or perhaps slightly larger—formed, eventually taking the shape of beings cloaked in tattered, old black robes. They had no legs or faces, only dry, bony black hands. They stood silently, awaiting Chang Long's command.
"What are those? How can you summon Dark Wraiths? That's the purest, most evil form of dark magic!"
The Evil High Priest Beast King cried out, its face turning even paler.
"Why would I tell you that? My lovely wraiths, show this fool what real terror looks like,"
Chang Long ordered, pointing at the Evil High Priest Beast King. The wraiths turned their attention to the monster their master pointed at before launching their attack.
The heretical priests tried to block the wraiths, but they were as slow as snails and could not intercept the wraiths in time. Seeing the impending danger, the Evil High Priest Beast King did something Chang Long had not expected—it leapt into a mirror, vanishing from sight.
With their target gone, the Dark Wraiths returned to Chang Long, who was now dealing with the four heretical priests. She fought them off with ease, but as soon as her wraiths noticed their master being attacked, they quickly launched their own assault without needing any further orders. Their terrifying presence was enough to make even higher-level monsters wish they could flee. The wraiths did not need to do much; their mere appearance was enough to strike fear into their enemies.
The Dark Wraiths attacked by simply touching the skin of their enemies. Chang Long was momentarily taken aback by how eerie and unsettling her wraiths' method of combat was. But then, she rubbed her eyes in disbelief as she saw the heretical priests' flesh, where the wraiths had gently touched, began to rot and crumble into black ash, falling to the ground like dust.

Karen struggled to reach up and insert the golden key into the keyhole, which was positioned almost two feet above her head. Meanwhile, her friends were desperately trying to fend off the attacks from the swarm of Level 37 Harp Ghost monsters. More than thirty of them swooped down, their sharp claws slashing and grabbing at Karen's group, eager to turn them into their next meal.
"Hurry, Karen!"
Duncan shouted urgently. They were all covered in long, bloody scratches from the Harpies' massive talons. The group's sole mage was relentlessly hurling fireballs at the creatures, managing to incinerate some of them as they fell to their death, though most managed to dodge the attacks.
"I'm trying... Aaaah!"
Karen screamed as she was suddenly lifted into the air. She had been so focused on aligning the key that she had not noticed a Harp Ghost swooping down from the doorway. The creature easily snatched her up.
"Karen!"
The men shouted in panic. The mage attempted to throw another fireball at the Harp Ghost holding her, but it was already too high up, out of range.
"You idiots, go on. Open the door. The key's already in the lock!"
Karen's voice echoed from the darkness above. The group felt a deep sense of guilt for failing to protect the only woman in their party, but there was no time for self-recrimination. They had to get through the door and escape the ravenous Harpies.
Creeeeaaak!
The giant door creaked open with a thunderous noise as Crown gently touched it. The group quickly dashed through the doorway, not knowing what dangers might await them on the other side.
Even though the door was now wide open, the Harpies could not follow them through. It was as if an invisible barrier was preventing the monsters from entering. Exhausted, Crown and his friends collapsed onto the floor, quickly consuming rejuvenating crystals and blood crystals. As they looked around the room, they were stunned by the sight of a massive treasure hoard.
"My heir!"
A powerful voice echoed through the chamber, causing everyone to jump and turn toward its source. At the center of the treasure-filled cavern—surrounded by piles of silver coins, gemstones, weapons, and armor—stood a massive black stone throne perched atop a high stone platform. The throne was intricately carved with the image of a large wolf, seated and gazing forward with majestic air.
On the throne sat a man with honey-colored skin, dressed in the attire of a desert warrior, his body covered almost entirely, revealing only his striking eyes, which were heavily lined with dark kohl. Despite the darkness around his eyes, they were captivating and did nothing to diminish his imposing presence. He stared intently at Crown, as if recognizing the true heir among them.
Crown slowly approached the man on the throne, while his friends watched cautiously. The man regarded Crown with an evaluating gaze before removing the cloth covering most of his face, revealing his true visage to Crown and his companions.
"I am Azlam, one of the seven greatest Pirate Kings. My heir, kneel before me and receive the final power I bestow upon you, so that you may pursue the path to becoming the Great King—a goal I could never achieve..."
Azlam declared. Crown obediently knelt before Azlam, who then bestowed upon him a set of equipment—the Pirate King Azlam's Set. This included a black leather armor adorned with silver and gleaming white diamonds, along the edges and across the chest. A long cloak covered him from head to ankle. The class he received was Saracen Warrior, and the title bestowed upon him was Wolf of the Seas.
After Azlam transferred all his power and knowledge to his heir, his body gradually dissipated into particles of light and vanished. The system then announced that Crown had successfully completed the Path to the King quest. Crown and his friends began gathering the treasure, carefully storing it in bags they had prepared for this purpose to avoid any disputes later on.
It took them over two hours to collect all the treasure. Afterward, they had to search for another exit, as the way they had entered was blocked by hordes of Harpies, a potentially treacherous Sphinx that might ask more riddles on the way out, deadly traps, and lastly, the entrance that was blocked by the bolder from one of the traps.
Eventually, Crown and his friends found a narrow, dark, long passage beneath the stone platform that supported the wolf-shaped throne. They walked for what felt like an eternity until they finally found the exit as they emerged from a cave behind a small waterfall in an oasis, deep in the desert.
Relieved to see the sky, they all held hands, cheered, hugged, and celebrated their return to the surface. Despite it being nighttime, with only the light of a crescent moon, they did not feel the least bit tired. Instead, they stripped down to their underwear and jumped into the waterfall to refresh themselves after the grueling ordeal they had endured.
.....
Meanwhile, Kimhant took Felon to hunt monsters around level ten, not far from the city. However, Felon, being as lazy as ever, refused to fight, leaving Kimhant to chase and battle the monsters on his own. The young man, who had only recently received his citizen's ID, was at his wit's end, unsure of what to do with his gluttonous, stubborn and wayward pet. Finally, he decided to trick it. Kimhant had already stocked up on snacks in his bag, so it was not hard to come up with a plan.
"Oh! A snack just dropped from that monster!"
Kimhant exclaimed, pretending to be surprised to get Felon's attention, even though he had dropped the snack on the ground himself. Felon's eyes lit up, and it made a move to fly over and grab the snack, but Kimhant quickly snatched it up first.
