The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 386: Paradise in the Underground World

Teluos pressed a device next to him, and a piercing alarm instantly shrieked throughout the City of Sin.

Like the alarms before, its sudden cry sent the entire city into an uproar. People poured out of their homes, either driving cars or running on foot, all converging on the central manor. At the same time, all the guards on alert had already surrounded the main gate.

Outside, having dealt with the guards, Chen Zheng and Ming Chong didn't rush in. Instead, they watched as a massive crowd gathered around them. More and more people swelled their ranks.

However, no one dared to step within a fifty-meter radius of the two men. They all watched them with extreme vigilance. The crowd knew Ming Chong had once fought Teluos to a standstill, and Chen Zheng was currently ranked third on the Heavenly List. These two were lethal weapons.

Chen Zheng stood with his sword slung over his back, his gaze fixed on a nearby rooftop where both Teluos and Mr. Mo were standing.

Holding a wine glass, Teluos took a small sip before speaking slowly. "Brother Ming, we had an agreement. I was willing to let you go, but you sent your men away instead. What's the meaning of this? Having regrets?"

He then turned to Chen Zheng with a sigh. "Chen Zheng, you and I have no quarrel. I thought of us as good brothers. We have no bad blood between us, so why must we draw our weapons?"

Chen Zheng raised an eyebrow and smiled at Teluos. "Indeed. I also thought that if you had stayed out of it, I wouldn't have bothered with you. But you stabbed us in the back. You're nothing but a despicable villain. You're responsible for the deaths of so many of my comrades, and you will pay the price."

He stared at Teluos and grinned. "You have three choices."

"One: Come with me to the base of Mount As and kowtow in apology to my fallen comrades," Chen Zheng said coolly. "After that, slit your own throat."

"Two: Be chopped into mincemeat by me and have your remains thrown to the bottom of the Mount As mountain range."

"And three," Chen Zheng added, as if just thinking of it, "kill that Mr. Mo beside you and disperse your men. In return, I'll grant you a more comfortable death."

"Chen Zheng!" Teluos smirked. "You seem awfully confident. You couldn't even handle the Golden Monster. I'll admit you're stronger than me, but do you really think you alone can defeat me? Why don't you look up?"

Chen Zheng tilted his head toward the sky. A streak of light was plummeting toward them.

His eyes flashed. "Red Ghost?"

A radiant smile spread across Teluos's face. "That's right. It's him." He then bellowed to the crowd, "All of you who are not pinnacle-level experts, get the hell out of here!"

This wasn't a narrow valley. Here, in this open area, they couldn't be overwhelmed by sheer numbers. At a full sprint, Chen Zheng and Ming Chong could easily outrun anyone chasing them. This was also why the previous attempts in the valley had been futile; they couldn't use sacrificial tactics to wear down the stamina of men like these.

Unless they were among the absolute strongest, there was no point in even trying to join this battle. Hearing the order, many began to retreat.

Chen Zheng and Ming Chong watched them go in silence, making no move to stop them. This was a playground for the criminal underworld, and there was no shortage of top-tier fighters. After the crowd thinned, just over three hundred people remained.

"Heh," Chen Zheng's gaze sharpened. "Quite a few formidable individuals left."

"And that's not all," Teluos said, taking another sip of wine. "The Red Lotus has been developing in secret for a hundred years. While their overall strength might not match ours, their top experts are every bit our equal. These people are just a fraction of them; many more have infiltrated the ordinary world. Everyone present is a top master, hidden in the shadows, myself and Mr. Mo included. With Red Ghost joining us, do you really think the two of you stand a chance? And that's not even counting the thousands of Martial Artists waiting just outside."

He sighed dramatically. "If you had tried a covert assassination, you might have had a sliver of hope. But here? You should know it's impossible. This was an unwinnable gambit from the start, yet you walked right into it with just two people. I'm curious to see if Zhuo Ming underestimated me, or if I underestimated you."

"So, you've decided not to choose?" Chen Zheng sighed. "In that case, I'll have to force your hand."

As he spoke, the twin swords on his back began to tremble. At the same moment, the top-tier fighters in the plaza formed an attack formation.

Chen Zheng scanned the group and frowned slightly. This combined attack formation… it looks a lot like the one the Night Watchmen use.

"Shut up," someone snapped.

"Mr. Mo, I'll leave him to you," Teluos commanded. "Go deal with that Ming Chong fellow. We'll kill them both before that redhead even hits the ground."

WHOOSH!

The words had barely left his mouth when Ming Chong launched himself forward. His outer clothes ripped away to reveal a brand-new black combat suit underneath.

"Hm?" Teluos stared, completely stunned. He could feel that Ming Chong was moving many times faster than when they had clashed earlier.

What's going on? A look of horror flashed across Teluos's face.

The latest combat suit could improve a Night Watchman's strength by about ten percent. For experts of Ming Chong and Chen Zheng's caliber, a ten percent boost was terrifyingly significant. Even in a one-on-one fight, Ming Chong was now confident he could defeat Teluos. This was precisely why they had shown up together.

With his True Qi surging, Ming Chong instantly appeared before Mr. Mo, his twin longswords slashing down.

Teluos scrambled back to create distance. Clutching a shield, Mr. Mo sprinted across the plaza, trying to join the other experts and besiege Ming Chong with them.

But Ming Chong's eyes were like lightning. His face was an emotionless mask, the very picture of a god of death as he gripped his swords and struck again.

Watching this, Chen Zheng grinned at Teluos. He drew his Sky-splitting Sword and charged toward the crowd of fighters below. As he moved, he also drew his second weapon, the nameless sword. Ming Chong frowned slightly at the reckless maneuver but said nothing.

Teluos glared at Chen Zheng. "You are too arrogant. You underestimate me."

Indeed, Chen Zheng's intention was clear. He planned to fight on two fronts at once, eliminating Teluos while simultaneously relieving the pressure on Ming Chong.

"To be slain by my nameless sword means you've earned some renown," Chen Zheng declared. "I'm eager to see if you, the second-ranked expert on the Heavenly List, truly have what it takes."

The moment he finished speaking, he pressed something on his combat suit. The next instant, he soared into the air, rocketing toward Teluos.

A glint appeared in Teluos's eyes. He tossed his cup aside, let out a furious roar, and leaped to meet the attack. "Let me see just how strong you've become!"
