The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 392 A Huge Pit

Lyu Yang leaned in close to Chen Zheng with a secretive air. "Chen Zheng, do you know if there are any monks in Crime City?"

Chen Zheng looked at Lyu Yang in surprise. "Monks? I did encounter one while I was slaying the Red-haired Demon. He mumbled something at me. What of it?"

Lyu Yang asked uncertainly, "I was just coming over with Li Yuqin and saw a monk at the city gate. I had a feeling he wanted me dead!"

"Killing intent?" Chen Zheng was taken aback. "What do you mean?"

Lyu Yang nodded. "He seemed ordinary, but I sensed a dangerous aura from him. I'd bet he's a being who has surpassed the super grade."

Chen Zheng raised an eyebrow.

The situation Lyu Yang described did sound similar to the monk Chen Zheng had previously encountered. On the surface, the man appeared to be an ordinary human.

However, he was certain there was more to it than that.

It was just that the monk had asked him not to deal a killing blow. From his words, the man might even be a Saint.

Chen Zheng wondered aloud, "It couldn't be him, could it?"

As for those hiding in the shadows, perhaps Yin Rou and the old swindler were more familiar with them, but they weren't here, and it wasn't the time for Chen Zheng to ask.

"Why would he want to kill you?" Chen Zheng asked.

"He saw my spear and must have recognized it. That's why he had such killing intent," Lyu Yang said.

Chen Zheng paused for a moment, then turned to the others. "I'll lead the way. We'll see if it's really him."

With that, he led the two of them up the mountain, only to find that the monk had long since vanished.

"I'll mention this to Ming Chong later," Chen Zheng said, stroking his chin. "Let's go to the docks!"

"I was actually planning to pierce Teluos's kidney here, but you beat me to it," Lyu Yang sighed.

Chen Zheng gave him a dark look. "Did you find a suitable bone?"

"I did," Lyu Yang said proudly. "I got them from that old man. There were five in total, and I absorbed them all. I'm very powerful now!"

Chen Zheng was speechless.

So Lyu Yang is like me, able to completely absorb bones. Still, he isn't that impressive, probably on par with Yin Rou. I estimate that once I've absorbed about twenty bones, I'll probably reach Teluos's level.

"You have a long way to go," Chen Zheng scoffed. "You should hurry and find a suitable bone for yourself. By the way, what's your bone called?"

"It's much stronger than that little bone of yours. Mine is called the Qilin Bone," Lyu Yang declared with pride.

"Tch, shameless!" Li Yuqin interjected from the side. "I heard the bone he absorbed was from some kind of rodent, like a mouse. That's why he looks like one!"

Lyu Yang looked embarrassed and coughed twice before retorting, "Don't be ridiculous. This is a Qilin's bone. you must be mistaken."

As they spoke, they slowly approached the docks.

Li Yuqin tugged at Chen Zheng's sleeve, drew close, and whispered, "Chen Zheng, now that you're back, let's get married. I heard you were married once before, but I don't mind. Besides, you even killed the Golden Monster! My parents are sure to agree. Once we get home, we can make the arrangements!"

Lyu Yang's eyes lit up. "That's right, Chen Zheng! A real man stands by his word! Hurry up and marry Li Yuqin. I'll look after Doctor Zhe."

Chen Zheng looked at her and cleared his throat. "Um, well... Yu Qin, you said that when you were at death's door. It's been so many years..."

"No matter what, we're engaged," Li Yuqin insisted.

With a slight nod, Chen Zheng's figure flashed, and he arrived at the docks. It wasn't long before he saw people there.

Ming Chong stood at the edge of a huge pit, and lying inside it was Mister Mo. Ming Chong's expression was unreadable. On the docks around them were hundreds of people, but they were all trembling, not daring to move. It was obvious why: Teluos was dead and Mister Mo had been defeated. No one else was going to make a move.

Chen Zheng stepped closer and saw that Mister Mo's face was contorted in pain. He was still alive, captured as Chen Zheng had ordered.

"Where are the bones collected by the Red Lotus over these years?" Chen Zheng's gaze sharpened as he spoke.

"I can tell you, but I have a condition."

"You think you're in any position to bargain with me?" Chen Zheng retorted.

"In this world, only He Lantian, Teluos, and I knew the location of those bones. Now that they are dead, I'm the only one who knows."

"Speak. What's your demand?" Chen Zheng said calmly. "I'm not letting you go."

"Even if I'm locked in a Night's Watch prison, I want to live," Mister Mo said, his eyes burning with intensity as he stared at Chen Zheng.

Chen Zheng glanced at Ming Chong. "Keep him here. Have Zhuo Ming and Wang Hong negotiate with him. The intelligence we get should prove useful."

Chen Zheng thought about He Tianlan. He had killed him back then, knowing full well the man held information about the bones. If he killed this man now, all the clues would be lost.

"Understood," Ming Chong nodded.

"What about Teluos?" Chen Zheng asked. "How do you plan to handle his body? After tonight, I fear all of Crime City will be in an uproar."

"Zhuo Ming and I have an agreement," Ming Chong said with a sigh. "Once Denps is dead, we'll send a transport craft here with a group of Night's Watch. We'll have Granny Luan return to Crime City to settle the people from the Red Lotus realm. If we can recruit them, we can gather more forces and leave this place together. We'll also establish a spaceport here."

Chen Zheng nodded. With Zhuo Ming and Wang Hong on the case, he had nothing to worry about.

"As for Teluos…" Ming Chong sighed again. "He was a fairly upright man in life. I will give him a proper burial, but before that, I'll announce what happened to everyone."

Chen Zheng sighed. "Alright, you go and prepare." Then, his thoughts returned to the mysterious monk. "Or perhaps even stronger?"

Ming Chong was taken aback by Chen Zheng's abrupt question. He frowned for a moment before shaking his head, indicating he didn't know.

Chen Zheng frowned. "I need to find Yin Rou and that old soothsayer first."

"Let's go," Ming Chong said. "We'll head to Teluos's place now. It's the only spot where we can communicate with the outside."

Chen Zheng agreed.
