The brief respite that was brought about as a result of the direction the kids battles were going was short-lived, ended suddenly as one of the daughters was flung from elsewhere and collided with the sister that Leanna was talking to, before an absolutely delighted Aegis appeared.
Coming to an immediate halt before Leanna and bowing politely. "Apologies, Lady Leanna I didn't mean to interrupt your revelry."
"Hush, Aegis. I would hardly call this "revelry" and my grandchildren had beaten you to it." Leanna gestured to the kids and made Aegis' day with the sight of droves of daughters surrendering to the three children.
"I suppose we should bring this to an end. We should have brought Majesty to overwhelm them with numbers." Aegis raved at the lack of foresight and missed the opportunity to make the suggestion to Carl, then quickly got stuck back into the fight.
In stark contrast to the way the kids had handled them, Aegis and Leanna were acutely aware of what each sister could survive without permanent injury and had no qualms with acting decisively and shedding blood.
Leanna was actually finding it quite therapeutic, as the black sheep of the family, there was considerable bad blood between herself and some of her siblings. Since she never had a good reason to hash it out in such a way, she had not held out any hope that the bridges could be rebuilt.
In the name of earning their allegiance for the faction however, she was able to justify her participation and handle the issue in the only way her siblings could understand.
The pair of them cut, pummeled and found catharsis as they worked their way through the horde of demons and Leanna finally achieved her siblings' respect by the time they came out the other side.
---Lillim And Equinox---
Lillim wasn't ignorant of what was happening outside of the bounds of Equinox's ability, in fact it was what she was using to push through the arduous task of dealing with the nightmarish staircase she was dealing with.
"Hahaha! Leave it to my great-granddaughter to pull a trick like that on her Aunt Juliana! It may have been cheap, but she knew her limits and took a pretty major player off the board immediately..."
Lillim trailed off as the turn of phrase bore unexpected fruit in the form of realising exactly how the ability worked.
"I had hoped you would not have realised, I knew using the old game as inspiration would prove a weakness against the likes of you."
"A weakness yes, but not necessarily a bad one. This game of yours is constructed perfectly and the one weakness that should leave it a mere nuisance, is covered by your sense of balance, nice lie by the way but you should tell Carl soon."
"I intend to, the young master will need tuition before long. It was simply easier for everyone to see me as a creature of Balance rather than both Order and Chaos independently, their understanding was so rudimentary before, the confusion may have stunted their growth."
"Agreed, I admire your dedication to my grandson, you are a boon he can't be grateful enough for. You acted the part of Balance this whole time just to be what he needed, thank you for that, but why did you do so when you weren't bound to him?"
"Simple really, I am deeply tied to the laws, I assume that is why I am part Aspect now. Regardless, I could sense my creator's true origins, just as the others can and I imagine that would include Margo if he wasn't being warped by his system."
"So that's why every aspect he met by coincidence let him move unaccosted. Unfortunately, we don't have time to chat, the child I share with the others is growing a tad blood-drunk and I'd like to avoid any fatalities..."
---The Fox---
"This is a bit unfair, maybe I should have let the others enjoy themselves. I'm not even able to properly stretch my legs because Equinox charged for Lillim, I'm not well suited to enter that realm either."
Kyubi wasn't shy about her lack of interest and with simple flicks of her tails to create waves of flames that lapped at the daughters' souls, minds and bodies, it was rather boring for her and she was more concerned with keeping an eye on the kids anyway.
"Lady Kyubi, apologies we are not our mother. Please don't shame us by treating us like mere inconveniences though."
"No need to call me "Lady" I am your niece-in-law by some twist of fate. I guess that means I'm insulting family, apologies for that, let me show you all the side I had hidden."
She returned to human-form and then rough patches of fur began to grow out all over, gnarled and scraggly in the same way she had in The Carrion hive.
"What? Are you a variant?"
"Yes, I am the fallen fox. I still don't understand it, my memories aren't all at my disposal, but I assume it's because I failed my lord and my people. What I don't understand is how I managed to retain Ishtar's blessing, but it doesn't matter really, you're about to suffer immeasurably."
An instant later, there were simply thousands upon thousands of demons rolling in agony on the floor slapping at their bodies as though putting out invisible fire. After a few seconds she snapped her fingers and they stopped howling and surrendered.
---Gillian And Blanc---
"So did you?..."
"Yeah, she gave them to me despite all the drama, you get your wish."
"So cool!"
"Shut up and buy me some time, I'll need to get used to multiple independent bodies quickly for it to be what you two are hoping."
As Gillian started hammering away at the daughters, he soon realised that he wasn't hammering away at them at all and that they were dodging and backing off the moment he got between them and Blanc.
"Err, Sorry everyone, but what's happening? Aren't we supposed to be fighting?..." He didn't receive a response as such, but rather they all suddenly turned and went off to find a new target. "...Huh? Blanc, any idea what's going on?"
"Hahaha! Yeah, you aren't getting your wish because they don't want to fight their love interest." As Blanc rolled back, laughing at Gillian who was totally crest-fallen by the sudden change, all Gillian could do was make a joke about him playing dating sims which he couldn't have cared less about.
"...Who am I kidding, you probably play them next to your girlfriend."
"Damn right, we play them together so she can tell me what's okay and what stays in the game! Dude! You're so disappointed you forgot who you're talking to!"
----Klaire's Feast----
Klaire's "battle" was progressing more like a buffet of souls, at the offset she had walled in a few thousand and howled and been taking a repairable slither of every soul, which aside from having to rush off to save Kitsunoko had occupied her the entire time.
"Sorry everyone, I'm not taking anymore than can be healed, but it will still be uncomfortable for a while.
Unfortunately, my idiot husband still acts recklessly, so I'd be stupid if I didn't use this opportunity to boost my power before things get messy."
She had been keeping a careful eye on her system the whole time, and the results of her snacking were undeniable. She had been levelling so quickly thanks to the high-quality souls that demons possessed as well as the fact that they were infused with ambient divinity that she was racking up power through her own maturation as well.

"At this rate, we should be able to take care of a baby easily before long. Maybe we should use the trip to go to a realm where we can reach our prime before anyone knows it? It would be great if Kyubi and I could carry together and drive Carl insane dealing with two pregnancies at the same time. The system is giving me a headache with all the notifications though, so maybe I should have Carl burn it away like he did his."
"Hey, Mum! Why are you eating Grandma's sisters and talking to yourself? Mama Kyubi! Mama Klaire might be going crazy!"
When Kyubi appeared a split second later, still in her fallen fox form, she was looking a little sheepish by the sight.
"Klaire? You okay? Don't take this the wrong way, but you haven't gotten addicted again, have you?"
Klaire gasped and realised how it looked and ran over to apologise to them all and explain.
"...Oh, I see, well eat up then. I think we've all had our fill, so the others can deal with the rest. How are your stats looking?"
"Good, I've nibbled on about four thousand and the results have been insane. Do you mind repairing the ones that I nibble on and cleaning up after me? Sorry to ask, but if I can eat about three times as much as I already have, we could have a baby tomorrow and take care of it between us."
Kyubi giggled and told her not to eat herself sick, then shook her head and made a counter offer.
"Ki-ko, you go heal your aunts' souls, I'll go help Mum eat as much as she can from each one. Raziel and Tiamutael, you go make sure she doesn't play any jokes that go too far."
