SSS Class Mythic Beast Master

Chapter 302: Burning (2)

The tide of the battle had turned into a slaughter.

But Reinhard, through the Fenrir-enhanced perception of his blazing gold eyes. He saw not just individual movements, but the patterns of Honor movement. His three diamond pupils dilated and contracted, processing the data of their repeated failures.

Honor's power of burning his soul dramatically increased his power and strength, but it also left him in an almost berserker-like state. This made it easier to land hits on him before he fully processed it and follow his patterns.

Reinhard tapped into the golden words that Brunhilde placed on them, only connecting to the others fighting against Honor. He swiftly shouted what he plans to do, and then after a couple more seconds.

"Now!" His voice cut across the battlefield.

Blue ripples swept from beneath his feet, as time crawled to near-halt, everything slowing until only light-speed attacks could move normally. Reinhard rushed through the frozen world. His figure rushed past the root fragments as he closed the distance to Honor's massive form.

Both swords swept out in crossing patterns, striking Honor's sides and forcing his position to shift.

The massive warrior moved incrementally within the slowed time, his body responding to strikes that redirected momentum. Reinhard calculated each impact point precisely, using Honor's own mass and trajectory against him.

Before he began slashing, chopping, hacking, cutting, and tearing into Honor. Each of his strikes led to Honor bleeding slightly and being slashed apart before Reinhard then grabbed Honor and moved him.

While this was happening, he glanced to the side and faintly smiled as the others had finished preparing.

Marie had sunk to one knee, both hands gripping Longinus. The Purging Lance was not just charged, but it was overcharged. Golden-white light was compressed into a single, vibrating point at its tip, so dense it warped the air around it, humming with the promise of absolute light.

Joseph, his face pale with pain and effort, had gathered the very essence of the battlefield. A spiraling vortex of wind, earth, fire, water, and lightning whirled around the tip of Arondight, compressing into a lance of destructive fury.

Amiya and Janus stood side-by-side, their energies intertwining. Her flames and his crimson claws merged into a helix of red and orange, a combined assault focused into a single, piercing beam.

Veryn, on her knees and bleeding from the nose, had pushed her mind to its absolute limit. Not dozens, but hundreds of intricate, golden magic circles materialized in the air, all angled with geometric perfection to converge on a single, fist-sized point in space.

Then eight seconds passed, and time began returning to normal.

Reinhard delivered the final strike, Hjorleifa's World Divide wave that split Honor's form momentarily and created disorientation.

Then he leaped backward, clearing the kill zone.

Honor's position had been moved while blood splashed out from the countless slashes. His body quickly began to regenerate, but then Honor's massive frame faced directly toward the concentrated assault. Every Inquisitor's strongest attack aimed at the same point, with timing synchronized perfectly.

And then all five attacks launched simultaneously.

Marie's Purging Lance, Joseph's elemental spiral, Amiya and Janus's combined assault, and Veryn's light rain.

All converged on the exact same point, the weakened spot on Honor's chest where Marie's earlier thrust had drawn first blood. The resulting explosion was not merely loud but a thunderous one that shocked everything in the area and reduced the ground to the tide below. Before then, a blinding radiance, mixed with the chaotic fury of disintegrating elements, consumed the area, painting everything in white.

But then Reinhard felt someone tapping into Herald Mark.

Blue ripples swept from beneath Honor's feet as he pulled through the shared connection everyone had access to. Time crawled again, but now from his perspective.

He moved at normal speed while their attacks advanced in slow motion. His massive frame sidestepped with casual ease, walking out of the convergence point as if attacks weren't capable of obliterating him.

The combined assault would strike empty air. While Honor moved towards them, time returned to normal.

Explosions erupted where Honor had been standing, creating a crater that consumed three root sections completely.

Honor appeared behind them.

His speed defied perception, as he closed the distance before anyone could react.

His fist crashed into Marie's back. The impact drove her face-first into the ground with a sickening crunch, her body plowing a furrow through the stone.

His banner swept in a wide, contemptuous arc that caught Joseph and Veryn together. It was like being hit by a tidal wave, they were smashed off their feet and hurled sideways, their bodies crashing through the wall of collapsed roots in a cloud of dust and debris.

His other hand shot out, too fast to follow, grabbing Amiya and Janus by their throats simultaneously. He lifted them, their struggles useless, before hammering them down into the earth with parallel, sickening force. Twin craters erupted, the impact stunning them into immobility.

Reinhard was the only one to even begin to react. He spun, his instincts screaming, both swords already moving into a defensive stance.

But it was too late as Honor's palm struck his chest.

There was no technique or magic used, simply pure brutal physical might, and the impact folded Reinhard in half. The air exploded from his lungs in a choked gasp, and not even his spiritual armor could help him endure all of it. He was flung backward, a ragdoll in a storm, tumbling and bouncing across the root fragments before crashing to a halt, his vision swimming with darkness.

Before he could even draw a ragged breath, the world went dark as Honor's banner descended above. It did not physically pierce him, but its torn fabric settled over him like a shroud. A terrifying, immense magical pressure pinned him to the ground, pressing against his chest, shoulders, and arms.

It was the weight of a mountain.

He struggled, muscles bulging, but couldn't move a single inch, and he was trapped.

Honor loomed above him, a colossus of black iron and crimson blood. Those amber eyes blazed down, the berserker intensity within them barely constrained by his remaining sliver of consciousness.

"Did you forget I am still connected to the Mark?" His resonating voice carried notes of grim satisfaction. "Foolish."

His hand raised before a black orb formed in his palm, Cessation Orb swirling with dissolution that would break Reinhard down at the molecular level. The sphere grew, pulling magic from the eight thousand souls burning within him, fueling an attack meant for complete annihilation.

He thrust downward.

The orb descended toward Reinhard's trapped form, and in that final, desperate moment, Reinhard's body turned ethereal.

Threshold.

The skill Honor himself had placed in the Herald Mark now saved its owner. Reinhard's form became ghastly and translucent, solid matter dissolving into shadow. The black orb passed straight through, finding no resistance.

Honor's eyes widened behind his helm as shock registered even through the berserker state.

Reinhard solidified instantly after moving his body to the side. His hand shot up, not holding swords but pressing directly against Honor's exposed chest where armor had cracked.

Stunning!

Freezing!

A Stunning Rune, blazing with golden light, erupted from his palm upon contact. It was not an external attack, but an internal command, a rune that seized every muscle, every nerve, every fiber of Honor's being simultaneously.

The massive warrior's frame locked in place, frozen mid-motion, a statue of paralyzed fury. The Freezing effect followed instantly, a wave of ice that spread from the point of contact, encasing Honor's torso in a thick layer of ice that bound him further, layering physical immobilization atop the magical paralysis.

Then both of his swords reappeared in his hands before Zenuken and Hjorleifa shined together. Black-blue wisps are mixing with molten gold and hoarfrost blue in combination.

His teeth gritted as expressions twisted with emotion, such as determination and coldness, all flashing across his face.

Reinhard thrust upwards, and he plunged both blades straight through Honor's heart.
