SSS Class Mythic Beast Master

Chapter 358: Relation

Reinhard sighed, the sound carrying a mixture of fascination and mild overwhelm. "So there are a lot of relations..." His mind was creating a mental map now, drawing connections between people he knew based on the Beast Spirits.

Then another thought struck him, and his eyes widened. "Wait… What about Brunhilde?"

He knew her Beast Spirit was called Valkyrie.

She'd talked about some of her dreams with him before, sharing glimpses into what her Beast Spirit had experienced.

He remembered her describing a golden hall, vast and magnificent. She'd spoken about walking through many battlefields of all types, some ancient, some filled with disasters, and some soaked in crimson.

One battlefield she'd described was filled with hundreds of thousands of people. In the dream, she'd been cutting and slashing through them with her spear.

Another dream had shown her taking away warriors to that golden hall. All of them looked at her with awe, reverence, and happiness, chosen for something greater after they died in battle.

Mimir furrowed his brows. The expression looked strange on a bird's face, but the gesture was unmistakably confused. He fell silent for a long moment, and Reinhard could almost feel the crow's consciousness reaching inward, searching through knowledge that should be there.

"It's suspicious." Mimir said finally, and there was genuine puzzlement in his voice. "I can't recall the Valkyrie Beast Spirit. My mind goes blank whenever I try to connect the information, which isn't entirely odd because I can't access the all-knowing knowledge at the moment due to Odin's seal."

He paused, frustration creeping into his tone. "But it's still a surprise. I should be able to know about high-level Beast Spirits even with the seal in place. That information should be accessible."

Reinhard raised an eyebrow, and despite the seriousness of the topic, a chuckle escaped him. "You think Odin has something to do with it?"

Mimir huffed, an indignant sound that was somehow both bird-like and deeply human. "I wouldn't be surprised. It would be just like him to block specific information." Then his tone shifted, becoming more uncertain. "But he has no reason to hide that knowledge. Why would he prevent me from accessing that information specifically?"

Reinhard nodded slowly. "That's true..."

Then another question surfaced in Reinhard's mind. Pulling from an even earlier conversation and one that had happened in Eastern Hesod itself. "Wait, since we're talking about relations and you know about Odin's past..." He leaned forward slightly. "How do Ymir, Adumala, and the Towering Black Being relate to each other?"

Mimir tilted his head sharply, confusion flickering across his expression. "Towering Black Being?" The crow fell silent for a moment, processing. Then understanding seemed to dawn. "Wait... I know who you mean. You can call that being Surtr."

Reinhard's eyes widened in surprise. The being finally had a name and felt more real than just describing it as 'the Towering Black Being.' although it did sound more awesome. "So it got a name after it was reborn?"

Mimir nodded, his golden horns glinting. "Yes. It took on a name when it got reborn, and that led to other beings born alongside it. Anyway, as you know, they are on the same level of importance to the Universe itself, but they don't intersect with each other."

Reinhard sighed, but he had a feeling that was the case. Surtr himself embodied change, wishing to spark the ability for all things to transform and evolve. While Ymir was stillness and preservation, not wishing for things to grow or die but remain the same. And Adumula seemed to represent life itself, nurturing and stabilizing it all.

Then he was brought out of his thoughts by Mimir's form, which shimmered, golden light flickering around his edges. Then Mimir dispersed completely, faded away just as the door to the medical room opened.

Rosaria entered first, her silvery-lavender hair flowing behind her as she stepped inside. Her crimson eyes swept the room before Celestia walked in beside her with a faint smile and new stuff in her hand.

But it was the person behind them who drew Reinhard's attention.

A man entered the room with quiet confidence. His white hair was pulled back in a neat braid that fell down his back, and he had light golden eyes that surveyed the room before settling on Reinhard with extreme interest.

The man wore black pants that were pristine and well-fitted, a white button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled to his forearms, and over it all a black and white coat that bore the Academy's subtle insignia. A matching hat sat at a slight angle on his head, and wire-rimmed glasses perched on his nose.

Rosaria's hand lifted, gesturing toward the man with white hair as he stepped further into the medical room. "This is Midas, the Head of the History Institution."

Before Reinhard could even process that introduction, Midas closed the distance between them in three quick strides. His hand shot out, grabbing Reinhard's and pumping it up and down with enthusiastic vigor.

The handshake was almost aggressive in its energy, making Reinhard's arm move like a lever being worked at maximum speed.

"Hello, my name is Midas!" The words tumbled out rapidly, matching the pace of the handshake. His light golden eyes sparkled with barely contained excitement behind his wire-rimmed glasses. "I'm a huge fan of the Three of Swords group!"

Reinhard raised an eyebrow, his light blue eyes showing surprise as his hand continued to be shaken vigorously. He managed to extract his hand from Midas's grip with some effort. "Is this because of my journey entries?"

Midas chuckled warmly before his whole face lit up with the expression. "Not only that, but because you three seem to always find yourselves in the most interesting events!" He threw his hands up in a gesture of amazement. "Just hearing about Mehko Research Group's desire to travel to the other dimensions, the descent of a Beast Spirit, the Golden Pillar, and the Imaginary Sea had all of us in the History Institution rolling on the ground in joy, shock, and absolute awe!"

Reinhard blinked, caught off guard by the sheer enthusiasm radiating from this man. "You're... Welcome?" The response came out uncertain, almost like a question itself.

Midas laughed with his body shaking while Celestia giggled behind her hand, clearly amused by the interaction. Rosaria simply sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose with two fingers as if dealing with a familiar headache.

"Don't mind him." Rosaria said, her voice carrying that long-suffering tone of someone who'd dealt with this behavior many times before. "He's just excited to finally have finally found a new creation entry and more information about our world."
