Reinhard blinked before saying. "When I was summoning Dune… I recall golden lines appearing from the jewel and connecting to those around me."
Marie's eyes lit up before saying. "See! It felt our beliefs and connected to us!"
Brunhilde nodded, her faint smile growing. "Not only are the wishes centered around united beliefs, but they're also powered by the number of believers."
Marie, Joseph, Janus, and Reinhard all perked up at those words, attention focusing entirely on Brunhilde.
She continued as she said. "Recall when Marie obtained the Star Jewel while gathering the magic and beliefs of others to help purge the crimson-black flames. When she wished for the summoning of the Forerunners, the Star Jewel also felt all of the people who were sending Marie their magic when she made that wish."
Joseph's eyes widened. "It also felt the Seekers, Precursors, and Luminous Knights' beliefs as well?"
Brunhilde nodded. "And that's why I think the Star Jewel could fully summon all of them. Because it was being powered by thousands of people's united belief in wishing to end the crimson-black tide and seeking help. When Marie wished for the Forerunners, the Star Jewel simply used the others' United Belief of wanting help to help power that wish."
Reinhard held his chin, fingers pressed against his jaw as his mind worked through the implications."Then what if it had the United Belief of an entire continent? Millions of people all focused on a single wish?"
Everyone fell silent. Expressions ranged from contemplative to horrified as they each imagined what that kind of power could accomplish.
Klaus broke the silence, his voice grave. "As you can see, the Star Jewels' powers are absurd. They bend reality itself when properly fueled." He paused, letting that sink in before continuing. "Now imagine if they were used by a criminal organization like the Sinners."
Everyone grimaced simultaneously, and the thought was nauseating.
Brunhilde sighed, her usual composure showing cracks of concern. "That would be an absolute nightmare."
Joseph shivered despite the warm office. "That's something that must never happen. Ever."
Rosaria nodded, her expression hardening with determination. "At the moment, we have two out of the six Star Jewels needed to open the door."
Marie crossed her arms, and despite everything they'd just discussed, a grin spread across her face. "So we just need to go on four more expeditions!"
A pause happened, as everyone processed what Marie had just said, and then they reacted.
Then Joseph covered his mouth, shoulders shaking with suppressed laughter. Reinhard covered his face with one hand, a light laugh escaping despite himself. Brunhilde's smile grew into something approaching genuine amusement.
Klaus laughed out loud while Janus shook his head. Rosaria sighed deeply, though even she couldn't completely suppress the slight upturn at the corner of her mouth.
Klaus's laughter faded into something more serious. "I would rather you three not encounter any more terrifying danger for the time being." His voice carried absolute authority now, leaving no room for argument. "For now, I am officially banning you from any major expeditions. You need time to rest, recover, and just be students again."
Reinhard furrowed his brows. "What about if we need to find Beasts for our Beast Sigils?"
Rosaria's expression didn't waver. "You can still take trips to Colin Forest, but just like before, you'll have to take Brunhilde with you."
Marie perked up immediately, her exhaustion seeming to evaporate entirely. She sat forward in her chair, hands clasping together with enthusiasm. "That's fine! Besides, we did plan on taking a break before another major mission anyway."
Rosaria blinked, genuine surprise flickering across her features. Her crimson eyes narrowed slightly, as if suspecting she'd misheard. "You were?"
Joseph smiled, amusement dancing in his bright green eyes as he turned to look at Marie. "We were?" His tone carried playful skepticism, clearly not remembering any such discussion.
Marie nodded vigorously, her platinum hair bouncing with the movement. "I was thinking we could go to the beach! And there are festivals coming up!" Her voice rose with excitement, hands gesturing animatedly as she painted the picture. "We can't have most of our lives as Beast Masters filled with danger, life-and-death battles, and terror now, can we? At least half of it needs to be fun! Normal fun that regular people have!"
Her light-gold eyes swept across the room, daring anyone to disagree. "Swimming, eating festival food, playing games, watching fireworks, and wearing nice clothes that aren't covered in blood or corruption! You know, normal student things!"
Klaus grinned broadly, his entire face lighting up with approval. "I agree! Completely and absolutely!" His voice carried genuine warmth and affection. "Especially since you're all students and should be living your best lives right now. These are supposed to be your golden years, the time you look back on fondly when you're old like me."
He gestured with his free hand, encompassing all of them. "Adventures are important, and growing stronger matters. But so do laughter, friendship, and memories that have nothing to do with survival. You should be making mistakes at festivals, eating too much street food, staying up too late talking about nothing important."
Rosaria chuckled before she nodded slowly, approval evident despite her next words. "Then you can have your trips and have fun after catching up on those classes you've missed."
The reminder made all of them tremble.
Reinhard, Marie, Joseph, and Janus all groaned in unison, a collective sound of suffering that filled the office.
Marie slumped in her chair, Joseph covered his face with both hands, Janus tilted his head back toward the ceiling, and Reinhard's shoulders sagged noticeably.
But despite the groaning, smiles spread across all their faces.
The promise of beaches and festivals, of normalcy and joy, made even the prospect of catching up on weeks of missed coursework seem bearable.
Brunhilde's eyes soften as she glances at all of them with delight while Rosaria hums.
Klaus laughed warmly, the sound filling the office with warmth. "That's settled then. You all should go rest now, you have a lot of stuff to do, and then you can go have fun."
