I swiftly began to shiver from fear as I slowly looked up at the woman who quickly changed the subject and began to stroke my hair lightly.

I had slept through the entire day, and when I woke up the next morning, it was really early, way to early, but I didn't realize it until I exited the underground facility.

"You're stupid for coming out here," A cold voice greeted me, and I couldn't help but let out a ghastly long sigh that came all the way from my diaphragm.

"You can take me back now… that's what I came here for, right? If you wanted to kill me, you could've just done it in my sleep when I was defenseless,"

"Excellent decision… now, let's get going. Your mother is already expecting you," The woman's cold voice wrapped around me before taking me into a pit of shadows where only a few seconds later, I came out into the throne room of my mother's japanese castle.

The smell was familiar and soothed my aching and nervous mind, but when I saw my mother, the words that my aunt had said to me continuously echoed through my mind.

But my mother didn't care as she walked up to me with a soft smile and hugged me so gently that I couldn't help but collapse into her arms, crying tears of joy and exhaustion.

"It's alright, baby… I got you," She whispered into my ear, and as I cried harder and harder, the words just slipped out of my mouth.

"Please forgive me… please… I'm begging you," I sobbed into my mother's collarbone, unable to even look her in the face as I begged for forgiveness as I know what I did was wrong, but there is no altering the past.

"I forgive you," She whispered, hugging me tighter than before, and the relief that washed through my body was so great that I couldn't help but sob once more.

After a few minutes of this, I finally retreated but stayed in my mother's embrace as I looked at Auntie Charna, who looked a bit more innocent than before.

She didn't look anywhere near as scary as before and was unable to even look my mother in the eyes as she waited for us to finish.

"I understand where you're coming from, but if I can forgive her, so can you," My mother announced, her voice echoing through the bare room.

"That is impossible," The woman let out a long sigh and sternly glared at my mother, who didn't budge one bit.

"I see…"

"Let me oversee her training here. I'll make sure she learns everything she needs to know while keeping her under constant surveillance. If she ever tries anything fishy, I'll be there to stop it and teach her a lesson… how does that sound?" Auntie asked with a determined look.

"How about your work? Your husband is gonna be dead from exhaustion by the time you get back,"

"I am currently on break and hired a few new capable people. They shouldn't be a problem,"

"Alright, fine, but if I catch you harassing my daughter or even trying to kill her next time…." My mother's voice suddenly darkened, and as I looked up, I just saw the silhouette of a demonic being with feathers looking straight at her target. "... I'll kill you. Got that?"

"Yes, ma'am~," The woman groaned before my mother's expression returned to normal, and she looked at me with warm eyes.

"Oh man… you're the most adorable daughter I could have ever asked for," She chuckled lightly before leaving the other woman behind and sitting down on her rightful throne, placing me in her lap.

"H-Hey… I-I'm not a kid anymore," I stuttered, but my mother didn't care as she just gently brought me closer into her embrace and let me nap once more, feeling the warmth of her body spread through me.

I've never been so happy in my life.
