Chapter 221: Raid Tower at 15th Floor

***

The next day.

The Mavelard City Crystal Stone.

Ethan, along with Ashley and the others, arrived at the location of Mavelard City's crystal stone. Ashley, Jill, and Sherly had already joined Ethan's party.

The man didn't need to ask for any approval because Ashley, his partner, joined the party with him.

The news about Ethan and Ashley taking time off surprised many people, especially at the LionArk headquarters.

To keep the headquarters safe while the Guild Leader and Vice Leader were gone, Ethan trusted Hanss and Darcy to watch over security, while Ashley gave authority to Natasha, the Finance Officer, to handle financial matters.

They were only assigned to daily tasks. They were not allowed to make any decisions related to the city or cooperation with other guilds.

Still wearing their LionArk uniforms, they arrived at the teleport crystal at the north gate of Mavelard City. That morning, many guild members from the city had decided to go explore the Tower.

They were shocked and stunned to see Ethan and Ashley arriving at the teleport crystal. Many of them knew who those two were.

They were the leader and deputy leader of LionArk, the rulers of Mavelard.

Ethan and Ashley were respected by many people. They admired them for their skill and experience, especially after learning that EthanArk was a legend from the past with the username EthanAsh666.

"Look! They're going to raid the tower."

"Their levels are already high. What else are they aiming for?"

"I'm curious which floor they plan to start the raid from."

The man faintly heard their chatter, and Ashley and the others heard the same thing. But they didn't care at all.

As long as those people didn't endanger Ethan and his party, Ethan wouldn't bother them.

The line grew shorter, and now it was Ethan's turn to choose the tower floor they would go to. The party system panel appeared in front of him. He could only select up to floor 27.

[Party name: LionArk Main Team]

[Leader: EthanArk (Lv. 87)]

[Choose floor destination: Floor 15]

There was a specific reason why Ethan's party could only choose up to floor 27. It was because Sherly was with them.

The system would detect each party member's tower raid history. The floor destination limit was determined by the party member with the lowest tower log.

Ashley had explored up to floor 70, Ethan up to floor 50, Jill up to floor 34, and Sherly only up to floor 27. With that condition, the system detected the limit at floor 27.

But they weren't heading to floor 27. They were going to floor 15. Based on Ashley's information, there was a legendary monster living on a mountain at that floor.

Ashley knew about it because she had heard rumors about the legendary monster a long time ago. She only hoped the monster was still there and hadn't been defeated.

After selecting the floor, Ethan and the others slowly faded and turned into small magic particles drifting away. Within seconds, they were gone from the teleport crystal.

When Ethan opened his eyes, he clearly saw that he and his team had arrived on the teleport crystal cliff on floor 15. He looked ahead and saw many adventurers walking away from the cliff.

They crossed a stone bridge to reach the other side of this floor. There, many monsters were waiting to be hunted by the adventurers. Ethan, however, had no obligation to defeat them.

"Let's go," Ethan said, and Ashley and the others agreed.

Ethan and his team crossed the stone bridge and entered the forest. From where they stood, Ethan could clearly see the large volcano in the northeast of this floor.

Ashley raised her hand and pointed forward, telling Ethan that the volcano was where the legendary monster lived. To reach it, Ethan and the others needed to walk for about five to six hours.

The man nodded. Ashley walked beside him, already holding her magic staff. Jill and Sherly had also summoned their weapons—Jill with her magic staff and Sherly with her sword, matching their classes.

As the four of them walked along the dirt path in the forest, their steps were halted by red-skinned frog monsters.

They were native monsters of floor 15, with the boss monster of the floor being a giant fireback frog.

Ethan stopped and stared forward. There were five red frogs blocking them. These monsters could release fireball attacks toward their enemies.

"Sherly," Ethan called.

"I understand, Sir Ethan."

"You work with Jill and defeat those monsters. Ashley and I will guard you," Ethan said.

Sherly and Jill nodded. Jill began forming red magic runes and sent fireballs flying forward, attacking the frogs.

Jill attacked from ranged distance while Sherly charged ahead, gripping her sword tightly. The two of them began striking the monsters carefully while Ethan and Ashley watched over them.

"Her strikes are strong, but her agility is lacking," Ashley said, commenting on Sherly's fighting style.

"Agility doesn't matter too much for a warrior. Based on Sherly's abilities, she's more suited for a Paladin or Guardian Class Advancement," Ethan replied.

"Because of her physical endurance?"

"Yes."

"With her stamina and durability, she can endure and win long battles," Ethan said.

"Jill isn't bad either. Her Elemental Mage advancement lets her control the five basic magic elements," Ethan continued.

"I was the one who suggested she choose Elemental Mage, since it's versatile. She can attack, defend, heal, and even purify," Ashley replied.

"That makes sense. She can be a mix of a Mage and a Priest."

Ten minutes passed, and Sherly and Jill managed to defeat the frogs. Ethan and Ashley were impressed. They clearly received their share of EXP because they had contributed damage earlier.

Even though they earned EXP, it wasn't enough to level up. The higher their level, the more EXP they needed.

But the fight served as good warm-up before they faced the legendary monster on the volcano's slope. When that time came, Ethan and Ashley would take action and show their abilities.

"Good. You managed to kill them," Ethan praised.

"Let's keep going. We need to reach the mountain before nightfall so you won't have trouble later."

"Yes, Sir Ethan."
