Ethan and Sherly left Ethan's office to reach Ashley's workspace that night. The door opened, and Ethan saw Ashley finishing her last tasks, while Jill was already relaxing on the office sofa.
Jill turned and saw Ethan walk in with Sherly. If the two of them had arrived together, then it meant Ethan had already finished his work.
Ashley lifted her head and smiled. This was the second time Ethan had visited her today. Ethan stepped closer to Ashley while Sherly sat next to Jill. Jill and Sherly had already become good friends.
"Do you need help?" Ethan asked.
"It's alright, Ethan. I can finish the rest of my work."
"Good."
Ethan pulled a chair over and sat directly in front of Ashley, checking some documents related to Mavelard's economy.
Ashley handled her job well. The city's economic condition had become very stable because Ashley was skilled in that field.
Not only that, Ethan also saw that Ashley enjoyed her work. When someone's heart and mind were truly connected with their passion, the results would always be excellent.
That was what happened to Mavelard. The economy was handled by Ashley, while security and military matters were fully handled by Ethan.
The officers were also chosen based on their competence. Ashley and Ethan refused to choose officers who couldn't do their jobs properly, because that would only bring destruction to the city.
Not long after, Ashley finally finished all her work. Ethan took out a bottle of wine and poured some into a glass. Ashley smiled and reached out her hand to accept it.
"So, what brings you here, Ethan?" Ashley asked.
"Our work has been troubling us quite a lot. How about we take some time off?" Ethan said.
Jill and Sherly were surprised to hear Ethan's words, and Ashley also looked shocked, not knowing why Ethan was suddenly making that suggestion.
But the condition of Mavelard really was more stable now compared to the early days after they took it back from Silver Star.
Ashley and Ethan's workload had also become lighter, and they always finished their tasks before sunset.
Ashley nodded. Ethan's suggestion wasn't completely wrong. She did need a break from her administrative work.
"As far as I remember, there aren't any recreation areas inside the game. Do you have a suggestion?"
"Yes."
"It's the Tower," Ethan explained.
Ashley froze for a second, then let out a small laugh after hearing Ethan's explanation. She really wanted to hear how Ethan planned to take time off by going to the Tower.
"It's been months since we last leveled. I just realized Sherly isn't even level 60 yet."
"I'm planning to form a party, where I can help Sherly level up until she gets her Class Advancement."
Ashley turned to look at Sherly. Sherly quickly stood and bowed her head, showing respect to Ashley. Compared to Jill, Sherly's level was still low.
To become the aide of a Vice Guild Leader, Sherly needed to raise her level. Doing office work didn't give her any EXP. Whether she liked it or not, Sherly had to go to the Tower and kill monsters to gain EXP.
"So how do you plan to raise Sherly's level?" Ashley asked.
"Hmm, defeating monsters and floor bosses, maybe."
"I'm thinking about fighting a legendary monster," Ethan added.
"A legendary monster?!" Ashley, Jill, and Sherly all reacted in shock.
Ethan looked at Ashley, then glanced around, clearly seeing the surprised expressions on their faces as if legendary monsters were extremely hard to defeat.
"Yeah. Why?" Ethan asked.
"You could die fighting a legendary monster."
The man cleared his throat. He had to admit that the last time he fought a legendary monster, he almost died.
But that happened when his abilities were still weak. Now, his abilities had increased drastically compared to when he fought the Eternal Banyan. He was sure he could defeat another legendary monster now.
"I almost died fighting the Eternal Banyan back then. But with my current ability, I can handle another legendary monster," Ethan explained.
"The Eternal Banyan? What's that?" Jill asked.
"A giant banyan tree monster, earth element, and it has the ability to absorb energy and HP. If you don't defeat it quickly, you can die from losing HP even before you get a chance to fight back."
"I've heard of it before, but I've never fought one," Ashley said.
"By defeating a legendary monster, the EXP we get will be huge. Looking at Sherly's level now, I'm sure she can jump to level 65–67," Ethan answered.
Ashley looked at Ethan, then also looked at Sherly. She knew Ethan might be able to defeat a legendary monster, but was it really worth risking Ethan's life just to help Sherly level up?
She couldn't let Ethan fight alone. She needed to be there to see how Ethan fought while also protecting Sherly.
"She just needs to record her damage on the legendary monster. We can defeat the monster together, Ethan," Ashley said.
"Yes. Wait… we?" Ethan asked, surprised.
"Yes, we."
"It seems I also want to help Jill raise her level to 73," Ashley added.
Jill smiled, stepping beside Sherly and bowing her head toward Ashley and Ethan. Both Jill and Sherly were grateful for this opportunity. They promised they wouldn't burden Ethan and Ashley during the fight later.
It was decided. Ethan and Ashley would take time off tomorrow to go hunt a legendary monster. Ashley explained that she knew the exact location of a legendary monster she had heard about.
It was on floor 15. The higher the floor, the harder the legendary monster would be. The best choice, according to Ashley, was to pick one from the lower floors.
She was sure no adventurers had defeated that monster yet because of their level limitations. Ethan agreed, and Jill and Sherly accepted Ashley's arrangement. They believed Ashley could pick the right monster for them to fight.
"Alright, it's settled. I'll form the party tomorrow morning, and we'll head out early," Ethan said.
He turned to Jill and Sherly, telling them to come to Ashley's office the next morning to get ready. Ethan told them to prepare their best weapons and gear for exploring the Tower.
They both nodded, understanding what they needed to do. After everything was decided, Jill and Sherly said goodbye and left to prepare themselves.
Now the only ones left in Ashley's office were Ethan and Ashley. For the two of them, no special preparation was needed. They were already far stronger than the legendary monster they would be fighting.
"This will be our first time doing a Tower Raid together, Ethan," Ashley said.
"Right," Ethan replied.
"Are you scared?" Ashley asked.
Ethan smiled and shook his head. He didn't feel scared. Instead, he felt excited this time.
"No. I'm actually… excited."
