I Become the Strongest with Infinite Skills Level

Chapter 224: Life or Money?

Ethan narrowed his eyes, clearly seeing that the five people from Scavenger were challenging him to a fight.

Luckily for Ethan, killing members of another guild inside the Tower did not count as a crime. In short, if Ethan killed them, he would not receive a PK status from it.

That was why the Raid Tower was dangerous for players who were not confident in their own abilities.

"You want to kill us? That's hilarious! There's no guild ownership over these monsters. Whoever finds them first becomes their challenger," Ethan said.

"You… your clothes, aren't you from LionArk?!" one of the men shouted.

"I'm EthanArk, Vice Leader of LionArk," Ethan answered firmly.

All five of them instantly turned pale. They looked at each other with growing panic, realizing their fate.

They had been stupid enough to provoke someone without even knowing that person was EthanArk. Of course they knew exactly how deep the hostility between LionArk and Scavenger ran.

"This is bad. Let's get out of here," the man said.

"You think you can just walk away from me? Of course not!" Ethan said sharply.

The Scavenger members ran south to get away from Ethan. Ethan summoned his sword again, the Bloodblade Ashura.

He gripped the sword, and his appearance slowly changed. His hair turned red, his eyes glowed red, and red tattoos appeared across his hands and around his face.

A surge of power spread out with a strong gust of wind. Ashura Mode had been activated.

"You stay here and help Sherly and Jill. I'll go after them," Ethan ordered.

Ashley agreed, even though she didn't really like seeing Ethan kill people. But Ethan's hatred for the Big Three Guilds was greater than Ashley's concern.

She could try to advise Ethan not to kill them. Ethan might listen, but getting him to obey would be difficult.

There was an ego he needed to satisfy, and according to Ashley, the only way to settle that ego inside Ethan was to let him do what his heart wanted.

Ethan landed hard in front of the five Scavenger members. The force of his landing shocked all of them.

The impact pushed all five of them back. Three of them were injured—the ones with the lowest durability, the Mage, the Archer, and the Priest. The warrior and the assassin were still able to hold on.

"Ethan! Are you insane?! We're not involved in your feud!" the warrior shouted, who was also their party leader.

"No, you're not. But you threatened to kill my friend. Why don't you do it?" Ethan asked.

"W-We were careless. We're sorry. We'll do anything as long as you spare our lives," the man said desperately.

Ethan narrowed his eyes and looked straight at them. He realized that killing them would give him nothing. He began thinking of another way to deal with them.

"Hand over all your money, HP Potions, and MP Potions," Ethan said.

"What?! Are you trying to extort us?" the man asked.

"You can choose between your lives or your money."

The warrior immediately refused. He would never hand over a single coin to Ethan, because their money was tied to their survival on this floor.

Without money, they wouldn't be able to get food or shelter. But he also thought about the safety of his party.

If he refused, Ethan could kill them brutally. Death was worse than having no money. Obviously none of them wanted to die.

While the warrior was still thinking, the assassin reacted the quickest. He stepped toward Ethan and took out all of his money, stored inside a black pouch.

Not only money, he also summoned seven Level 2 HP Potions and five Level 2 MP Potions. The potions hovered above his palm before he tossed them toward Ethan.

"I've handed over my money and items. Can you let me go now?" the assassin asked, enough to make their party leader furious.

"What are you—"

"Money can be earned again, items can be bought again. But not life. I won't risk my life for money and items," the assassin cut in.

His words were heard not only by the warrior but also the other party members. One by one, they realized that what he said made sense—life mattered more than money.

They stepped closer to Ethan and handed over their money and items. Ethan received four black pouches full of gold from them. Only the warrior had not handed his over.

"You?" Ethan asked.

His party members pressured the warrior to hand over his share. With no other choice, he stepped forward and handed all his money to Ethan. Ethan accepted it without hesitation.

"Go. I won't kill you," Ethan said firmly.

The assassin nodded. They all ran away from Ethan, heading toward the crystal teleportation cliff, leaving Ethan alone on the dirt path in the forest.

In total, Ethan received 3,750,000 gold from them, along with twenty-one Level 2 HP Potions and thirty Level 2 MP Potions.

Ethan considered the extortion worthwhile. He really liked people who were scared of dying like they were.

"Ethan? Are you okay?" Ashley asked.

The man turned and faced her, saying that he was fine, and that the Scavenger members had managed to escape just before he could kill them.

That was the excuse he made for Ashley. In Ethan's mind, Ashley didn't need to know that he had extorted them in exchange for sparing their lives.

Beside Ashley, Ethan saw Sherly and Jill walking closer. They had successfully killed five red-skinned frog monsters, much faster than before.

"You two did well," Ethan said.

"Leveling up really made your attacks stronger and more efficient," Ethan added.

"You're right. My body feels much stronger than before. I think Jill and I can kill a lot of frog monsters easily tonight," Sherly said confidently.

Jill agreed. There would be many monsters blocking their way to the crystal teleportation cliff in the south. Sherly and Jill suggested that the remaining monsters along the path should be left for them to handle.

Ethan looked at Ashley. The woman smiled and nodded, not bothered at all if Sherly and Jill wanted the EXP. Since Ashley approved, Ethan had no reason to refuse.

"Sure. The remaining monsters along the southern path are your responsibility," Ethan said.

"Thank you, Sir Ethan."

"You two just focus on killing those monsters. Ashley and I will protect you."
