Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 147: Reunion (1)

Clank! Clash!

Orin's robotic body and Dorian's long feathers collided, detonating a powerful impact wave in the process. The following instant, they were both pushed back from the impact.

Dorian, now visibly injured with blood gushing from his shoulder area and near his legs, rushed forward without a moment of hesitation.

Endless amounts of energy flashed within Orin's frame. While Dorian was running out of energy, Orin was not. He seemed to be using the stored electricity within the city itself to power his war armor and the light saber.

It had reached the point where, even with Dorian's energy nearly depleted, Orin was completely fine. If not for the energy potions for 2nd rank evolvers, Dorian would have already run out of energy by now.

"You piece of junk! Die!" Dorian closed in with a grunt. His long pointy wings flapped, and instantly even more feathers shot out as beastly energy surged around them.

"Hmph." Orin snorted, and the feathers immediately stopped in their tracks. He had caught them using telekinesis. However, the next moment, the feathers exploded one by one.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Each detonation forced Orin back slightly before he regained mobility in the air and shot toward Dorian with an enraged expression.

"You sneaky bird!" Orin's war armor shifted, mechanical parts sliding and rotating as several missile units emerged from both his hands.

Whoosh!

The missiles shot out one by one, each breaking the barrier of sound as they rushed at Dorian with breakneck speed.

Orin had been powering himself using the electrical energy of the Three Guard Province. With his Law of Machinery, he could connect himself to multiple machines and use them to form a network, channeling electrical currents one by one.

It might seem far-fetched, but with the Law of Machinery, it was definitely possible. Someone who had comprehended the Law of Machinery was essentially the king of technology.

There was no competition. One glance from someone with the Law of Machinery could completely disassemble a piece of technology and even reassemble it from scratch.

Dorian gritted his teeth as he took the attacks one by one. He deflected some with his bare hands, others with defensive techniques, and by the end, he was completely out of energy.

Down below in the mansion, several High Order members had descended. They were all at the 2nd rank. They saw the commotion in the mansion and immediately rushed inside to check.

To their surprise, the 2nd rankers of their organization, alongside the experts of other cities, were all unconscious. Well, except a few.

Three girls and one boy remained. Two were at the 1st rank, the other lady's stage could not be discerned.

The real expert, however, was the girl with black hair and golden highlights.

Seeing her, however, the High Order members remained calm. They saw that she had only reached the 2nd rank, and they believed it would not even take a minute to deal with her. They then immediately charged forward.

"How annoying," Immortal Lady mumbled. "Looks like I will not be able to have a chat with these two ladies right here. If I use my energy here, I might have to go back to sleeping for a while."

However, hearing this, Lia interjected and stepped forward. "We can talk after we are done, Miss. Please, let me handle this."

As she said that, she flashed the Immortal Lady a smile and waved her hands. Immediately, golden energy surged, and her forehead shone with a special symbol.

Immediately after, two portals appeared behind her.

"What?" The Immortal Lady's expression changed, and so did everyone else's in the vicinity.

Even the High Order members were stunned.

"Lia...?" Evan called out with a dumbfounded look on his face.

Following that, amidst everyone's gaze, a terrifying power erupted from the portal.

Tap!

A flaming leg emerged from the portal. The moment it descended, the temperature around the mansion surged violently. It was currently winter in the northern lands of the Southern Region, yet in an instant, the frigid air melted away. The surroundings heated so rapidly that it now felt hotter than a scorching midsummer day.

"Grrrraaahh… Rrrrhuuummm…"

A hellish roar echoed throughout the mansion as beings made of pure flames emerged from the portal.

There were five of them, all at the middle stage of the 2nd rank.

As soon as they emerged, they bowed in respect toward Lia, kneeling to the ground with one leg as their voices echoed.

"Grrrraaahh… Rrrrhuuummm…"

"Eliminate them," Lia ordered as she pointed at the High Order members, who now looked utterly terrified.

They let out ferocious roars at Lia's order and immediately turned to the High Order members.

Without missing a beat, they shot forward, directly attacking them.

Clash! Boom!

The High Order members clashed with the creatures head-on, sending waves of flames and sparks across the mansion. The mansion itself was taking damage from the attacks.

"What the hell..." Evan was tongue-tied seeing this.

"Ugh." Lia grunted abruptly in pain as the symbol on her forehead flickered out.

This was one of her realized abilities, Hell Portal, the ability to summon beings through a portal from hell.

And with it's help, she had summoned Infernals, the hellfire spirits of hell.

Knowledge about her summoned beings naturally came to her.

At the same time, she realized that whenever she utilized her newly found energy, it quickly went out of control. Because of that, she could only summon five of them.

This also caused bloating inside her meridians.

She believed if she continued using it, her meridians might burst.

"Why is this happening?" Lia frowned. "How come I do not have control over my own energy?"

However, just as she thought that, her expression changed. She looked into the distance and saw a stream of light shooting toward the Three Guards Province.

"Orin!" Varyn's shout echoed throughout the entirety of the Three Guards Province as he arrived near Orin. "I need your help."

"An abyssal being." Lia's expression immediately turned frosty.

"Evan, be careful," the Immortal Lady cautioned. "You, little miss over there, come near me."

She turned to Alissa, who had been observing from the side, and spoke.

Hearing her, Alissa swiftly walked up to the Immortal Lady with a blank stare.

Seeing this, the Immortal Lady laughed. She knew that Alissa was shocked on the inside, but she did not show it outwardly.
