Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 148: Reunion (2)

At the same time, the Immortal Lady was slightly serious. Another 2nd ranker had arrived and from his aura alone, she knew he was extremely powerful. She believed, it won't end well.

"Who is that?" Dorian exclaimed in shock. "What is that creature?!"

Dorian did not know a thing about the abyssal beings or the abyssal transformation. Information about them was still strictly restricted and only a select few knew about them, like Werner and Valeria who came from the Floating City.

Seeing him, Varyn snorted in disdain. "You still haven't eliminated him?"

"He's a very annoying chicken," Orin said in a maddened tone. "I have been trying to eliminate him for hours now and he keeps surviving!"

"Useless," Varyn spat. "Whatever, let's get this over. Let's eliminate him, we need to put our plan in motion!"

"YES!" Orin grinned evilly. "Yes! YES! OUR plan!"

Orin did not care about the plan of Varyn, in his eyes, the so-called plan was different.

He only cared about Dorian and Valeria. He wanted to see them get destroyed and the only reason he was following Varyn's plan was because of the High Order.

Even though he was on the brink of madness, he still feared the High Order and Varyn himself.

Varyn shot toward Dorian like a falling star. The two curved horns on his forehead blazed with crimson light. A heartbeat later, energy beams erupted out, tearing through the sky and scorching long scars across the battlefield.

Orin's eyes flickered with manic delight as he raised his mechanical arms. Compartments slid open along his metal body and dozens of charged barrels emerged. In the next moment, a barrage of concentrated blasts roared out, each one powerful enough to shred a late-stage expert.

The air trembled under the combined assault.

Dorian felt the world closing in on him. The beams from Varyn's horns chased his shadow, and Orin's mechanical firepower sealed off every retreat. His heart pounded, but instead of fear, there was only fury.

"So this is what you want?" Dorian muttered, his voice growing hoarse.

He felt burning heat rise from deep within his elixir field. His veins glowed a faint gold as he forcibly ignited his own vital essence. His lifespan began to slip away second by second, but his strength surged like a tide breaking through a dam.

Feathers of metal began bursting out across his arms and back. His spine bent and expanded as his half-eagle form intensified, wings unfurling with a metallic cry.

A blood-gold aura exploded from his body.

"I'll drag you both down with me!"

With a single flap, a storm of metal feathers shot out, tearing cracks through Varyn's beams and slamming into Orin like divine arrows.

Explosions filled the night as the three exchanged relentless blows, shockwaves flattening everything around them.

But despite Dorian's desperate power, Varyn was still Varyn. His aura suddenly surged. The beams from his horns thickened and twisted, forcing their way through Dorian's storm of feathers.

Inch by inch, they pushed him back.

And finally, with a deafening blast, Dorian was overwhelmed and sent crashing into the ground.

"Hmph, futile attempt," Varyn sneered at Dorian.

"H-how is this possible?" Dorian, now completely tattered and bleeding profusely, had a disbelieving look on his face.

His meridians had been destroyed from the attack. He could no longer use energy anymore.

Dorian's eyes grew distant. He had tried all methods, however in the end it was futile.

'How could this be possible?'

"I-is this the end for me?" Dorian took a painful breath.

All hope was lost.

The pillar of the Three Guards Province had been destroyed.

However, just then, Dorian heard it.

A voice that resonated throughout the entirety of the Three Guards Province, no perhaps even beyond that.

"Nexus Convergence." The voice boomed.

Buzz!

The sky distorted. The sun above the Three Guard Province flickered once and disappeared as a dense sphere of darkness formed in its place. Violet light circled around it, rotating fast enough to blur.

The moment it appeared, everything started getting dragged in.

Weapons floating in the sky shook violently before shooting straight toward the sphere. Broken pieces of tech twisted in midair as they were pulled in one after another.

Orin's mecha body jerked forward uncontrollably. The stabilizing thrusters flared, failed, and the entire frame tilted as if someone had hooked it from the front. small metal plates snapped off and spiraled directly toward the vortex.

Varyn's foot slid half a step before he forced his weight down. The pull kept growing stronger, tugging at his entire body.

The sphere kept growing, spinning faster, its violet glow spreading across the sky as everything within range was dragged toward it without resistance.

In the next moment, the black hole stopped spinning and exploded.

Boom!

Light tore apart as the black globe with violet light exploded. The sky and the ground shook from the sheer power.

Both Varyn and Orin were blown away, shooting off to two sides of the Three Guard Province.

Everyone, whether normal civilians, evolvers, or the people in the mansion, stared at the sky with stunned expressions.

Replacing that black hole was a man standing there with an indifferent look on his face.

Lia's eyes widened when she saw the figure.

Alissa trembled slightly when she saw him.

"It's him!" Evan exclaimed in disbelief.

It was none other than Grey Lockhart who stood alongside Little Hong, who was looking around with a blank look on her face. Behind him was a middle-aged man with a long black beard, jet black hair, and a face full of vitality.

Anyone in the mansion could tell from one glance that this middle-aged man was a late-stage 2nd ranker.

This middle-aged man was Werner.

He had undergone transformation, which did not even take ten full minutes, and he instantly arrived in the Three Guards Province along with Grey. Valeria on the other hand, was still undergoing transition to late stage.

Unlike her, Werner had already been on the brink of reaching late stage, and after converting his evolutionary path, he directly reached late stage.

Just then, the air shifted and the next moment Orin and Varyn, who had been blown away, were right back in their places.

"This... isn't this Grey Lockhart?" Orin exclaimed. "How is this possible?"

His eyes widened in disbelief.

"VARYN WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?" Orin turned to Varyn and shouted with an enraged look on his face.

However, Varyn did not answer him. He was staring sharply at Grey. "How did you reach here so quickly."

"Your escape technique is just garbage, what can I say," Grey said with a laugh. "Even someone like me could catch up in a few minutes."

"YOU!" Varyn was enraged.

He was actually insulting his capabilities!

Even in the High Order, he was one of the top elites of the 2nd rank and this person was looking down on him.

"You will pay for this! No one disrespects me! Especially a weak human like you!" Varyn said as he turned to Orin. "There is no time to explain. We need to eliminate this brat and that little kid over there."

"He is a threat to our plan. We can only move forward after we eliminate him!"

"Fine!" Orin shouted. "Let's get this bastard!"

Both of them then swiftly rushed forward with breakneck speed.
