Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 214: Returning back

"The Second Layer of Space, huh?" He remembered Wang Lin's words.

From what he said, there was a terrifying being within the second layer of space, and Eterna was actually holding it off.

"She's more busy than I thought." Grey shook his head.

Maybe she might not be that useless after all. It was clear that without Eterna's help, this planet might already have been doomed from the start. But Eterna was constantly stopping a true Abyssal being from coming to the third dimensional world.

As for the second layer of space, this was the first time he was hearing about it, and quite honestly, he had no idea what it was.

But it was enlightening nonetheless, and he needed to comprehend spatial law to access it. The existence of that plane only gave him more motivation to do so.

"How am I going to explain this to Alissa?" Grey sighed. She would probably become depressed after knowing Richard was gone, as she cared about Richard more than Grey ever did.

Alissa cared about only a few people, and among them, Richard was the main person.

"Now what's left?" Grey took some time to think it through. Now that he was here in Nova City, he had to make sure that he did not miss anything.

Just then, Eterna appeared in his vision.

"What did he say?" She asked.

"Nothing much. Only some things about how this planet was extremely dangerous beyond words, and you are the reason that it's still intact. Something about a True Abyssal being." Grey replied with a smile.

"The Abyssal being in the second layer." Eterna nodded. "Someone of his caliber must have already noticed it."

"How long has it been since you started suppressing the thing?"

"As long as I can remember." Eterna replied. "I've been suppressing it since the day I woke up because of its presence."

"You woke up because of its presence?" Grey exclaimed in surprise.

"That's right." Eterna nodded.

She did not even bother with clearance anymore. She had long realized the fact that he knew things that only someone with fourth rank clearance could know about.

"The cosmic energy storm was caused by its sudden appearance." Eterna replied shortly. "The barrier around the Starcrest Continent was damaged the instant it entered the second layer of Blue Star's space. That, in turn, caused me to awaken as well."

"Why are you suddenly saying all this?" Grey was speechless. "Didn't you say that I needed higher clearance to know about these things?"

He never expected her to directly talk about the barrier. It looked like she already knew about him knowing it.

"You already know everything. The secret realm was already identified by me to be something related to Brandon Everhart." Eterna replied shortly. "It didn't take me long to compute the possibility of you knowing."

"And knowing you, it would be more bizarre if you had not found out about it by yourself." Eterna replied. "There is only a restriction when talking about it without the other party's knowledge. As long as the other party knows, I can speak freely about it. This was a rule set up by the federation master."

"Oh." Grey nodded.

From the looks of it, this federation master had quite a bit of control over her.

"But I was here to talk about something else." Eterna replied. "The ban has been approved. The Cyborg evolutionary path is now officially banned."

"Finally." Grey shook his head. It had been quite a while since she said she would ban it, but one or two things happened and it kept being delayed.

With that, Eterna soon made an announcement about it.

The entirety of Blue Star was stunned by the news. Soon, it became the number one trending topic.

However, that matter barely concerned Grey.

...

"Everyone's here. Let's head out." Grey looked at Werner and Lia.

Werner stayed put and placed formation flags around the three cities, while Lia went to visit some of her old friends from school.

"Hey Grey, my friends want to meet you." Lia suddenly said.

"Meet me?" Grey's eyelids twitched. "Not now, maybe later."

"Okay..." Lia replied. Almost immediately, she took her phone out and messaged her friends.

"We should deploy the barrier now." Grey glanced at Werner, who nodded at him. "I've already set the flags."

"Good." Grey immediately began and set up the formation by connecting it to the computers in the city lord mansion. It was not exactly in the right position, but it would do for now. Within seconds, the outer rings around the three cities were cleared, and the cities were now fully protected.

"Let's go back then." Grey spoke as he boarded the AV.

With that, the AV shot off back to Ashspire City.

By the time they arrived, the law enforcers of the Ascension Province had already come down to the Tri City Province. Starting now, they would take care of the three cities in Grey's absence.

Then, under Grey's guidance, Lia and Little Hong shifted to the city lord mansion located in the middle of Dawnwatch, Ironveil, Silverguard, and Ashspire City.

By the time they reached, it was already night. He arranged some things for Werner to do and called in Valeria for some other matters. He also made a few phone calls to the law enforcers about the taxes the businesses in the four cities still had not paid, and with that, he went to sleep.

Starting tomorrow, he was going to cope himself up inside his room. He was finally going to begin creating his transformation technique and officially step into the second rank.

....

At the same time, in a place far away from the Ascension Province in the north, there stood a tall building within an eerily quiet and unsettling region.

The surrounding area was sealed by what appeared to be a barrier. No light existed within it, yet outside the barrier, the world was clearly illuminated.

The barrier slowly opened, and two black robed figures entered. Behind them, a man with a clueless look on his face followed slowly.

'Are you sure joining the High Order is the right decision, system?' Lin Fang asked with a slightly troubled look.

He knew they were a bunch of bad guys, and joining might quite literally make living a normal life impossible. However, his system seemed to have a plan.

[Yes, host. Joining the High Order is the best decision you can take right now. Or else, you will not be able to complete the missions given to you. According to my calculations, this is the only way. You can easily get into their ranks, and you can give them some intel while you go to the Sun and Moon Academy for study.]

'If you say so.' Lin Fang nodded.

Now, whenever he was alone, Alissa's beautiful face appeared in his mind. Her perfect body, her stunning face, and her indifferent look made it so that Lin Fang simply could not control himself.

He had to get her no matter what.
