Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 233: Comprehending Mystic Human Transformation Technique

"Mages." Grey grinned.

The starry sky was truly vast, wasn't it?

The evolutionary paths on Blue Star were just the tip of the iceberg.

The mages he had seen in novels back in his old world existed here. Wouldn't he be able to draw powerful magic circles capable of planetary destruction once he entered the starry sky and got his hands on them?

He was a simple man. If he found something extremely cool, he would take it for himself.

And what was cooler than standing in the void, waving your hands, and instantly having several hundred thousand magical runes light up all around a planet before it was destroyed?

It would be both a terrifying and powerful sight to behold.

Once Grey was done daydreaming, he focused on the transformation technique. To prepare for the future, he would take the traits of this transformation technique for himself.

Time passed swiftly, and after almost six hours, Grey was done comprehending the Mystic Human Transformation Technique.

"Now, it's time to comprehend the genetic markings of the Ascended Human and the Mystic Human."

Grey had already prepared the pills. Now he just needed to cancel Shapeless and then recreate the clone.

Buzz!

The Grey Clone flickered out of existence, and just as quickly, another formed in the exact same place. However, the new Grey Clone gave off far less aura than the previous one.

"Ascended Human first."

....

At the same time, while Grey was observing the genetic markings of the Ascended Human and the Mystic Human, near the ice walls of the southern region, inside a secret hideout.

Several grey-robed high-order members gathered together, with one red-robed member standing at the center.

"We received intel from the western branch." The red-robed individual spoke. "The western region will be destroyed within this month or the next."

"The western region was always the biggest resistance the High Order faced. But in a few days, it will be reduced to ruins, and if the plan goes right, another abyssal being can be successfully summoned."

"Brother Seven, is Brother Sixteen back from the Abyss?" a grey-robed individual asked the red-robed member.

"Not yet." The red-robed high member's expression tightened. "Gathering World Breaking Source Power is not easy."

"Sixteen was lucky to be present at a portal opening. That's the only reason he managed to return to the Abyss."

"But it's been several years since he left." He continued. "It's very possible that he'll come back soon."

The expressions of the grey-robed individuals changed.

"If he comes back, what are we going to say?" one of them asked quietly. "Young Master Zeryith is already..."

"We can't do anything." The red-hooded figure said gravely. "You all know how he is when he's angry."

The others shivered at the thought.

Sixteen, also known as Lord Zeran, was an abyssal being who had crossed over to this world hundreds of years ago. As a third-ranker, his lifespan was immense.

Recently, he had jumped into an abyssal portal, claiming he had matters to attend to back in the Abyssal World. He left his wife and son in their care before departing.

However, the young master had died at the hands of a mortal.

Not an ordinary mortal, but a terrifyingly powerful one.

The next piece of news they received about that same man was even more absurd. He had unified seven cities in rapid succession and declared them the Ascension Province.

Silence filled the chamber.

"We need to eliminate Grey Lockhart," one of the grey-robed individuals finally said, his voice cold. "Varyn fell at his hands, and he has repeatedly disrupted the High Order's plans."

"Even the cyborg evolutionary path has been interfered with," another added. "He is a direct threat to everything we are building."

"If we don't deal with him now, it will already be too late."

"Don't be hasty."

The red-robed figure slowly shook his head.

"If killing him were that simple, Varyn wouldn't have fallen. Nor would Young Master Zeryith." His gaze swept across the room.

"Grey Lockhart is no ordinary individual."

He leaned forward slightly.

"It's highly likely that he is a genius from the Starry Sky, possessing Starry Sky techniques."

"That would explain both his abnormal cultivation speed and his overwhelming combat strength."

"Acting blindly against someone like that is no different from seeking death," he continued calmly.

"What we need is information. We probe him, uncover his limits, identify every hidden method he possesses, and only then do we strike."

"I've dealt with this kind of existence before," the red-robed figure said. "They always have contingencies."

"Miss even one, and the price is annihilation."

"But if we wait," someone interrupted, frowning, "won't it already be too late?"

The concern was shared by many.

Grey Lockhart had already slain Varyn, who possessed peak second-rank combat power. And he had accomplished all this in less than two months.

Giving him more time meant allowing him to grow even stronger.

"That won't be a problem," the red-robed individual replied evenly. "When the time comes, I will act personally."

Then he waved his hand.

A projection appeared before them, displaying a map of the southern region. Seven cities were marked under Grey Lockhart's control.

"Look at it from another angle," he said. "He is accelerating unification for us."

"If we eliminate him now, we lose a perfect opportunity." His eyes gleamed faintly.

"With our technology, we can bypass Eterna's probing entirely."

"Once he finishes unifying the southern region, we remove him and seamlessly take control."

"The world will never know he died," the red-robed figure concluded.

"They'll simply believe Ascension Province continues as it always has, only this time, under us."

However, just as he finished speaking, a red blaring alarm rang out within the chamber of the secret hideout.

Soon after, a robotic alert followed.

"Warning! World Breaking Source Power has been detected!"

"Warning! World Breaking Source Power has been detected!"

"Someone has breached the reality barriers in the second layer of space."

"What?" The red-robed figure's expression turned ugly.
