Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 172: The Lamia Queen(2)

The lamia queen raised me towards her. Her serpentine tongue licked the air, and her face held a slight blush.

"You don't look all that special. Like a flimsy little human or maybe a vampire," she said as I was finally close enough for her to take a good look.

"I'm more than what I seem," I replied.

"Do tell, what are you?"

"I'm a werewolf."

She paused for a second as if trying to figure out if I was lying or not.

"A wolf with blessed blood? That's unlikely. Well, doesn't matter. As long as the product is good, I don't care what you are."

The queen spoke, and she was practically drooling. Her fangs glistened with saliva and venom. I wanted to get a feel for her personality, which is why I allowed her to lift me up. Her personality was exactly what I imagined it. I didn't need more than a few seconds to know exactly what it would take to break her.

As the lamia dangled me in the air like a tasty piece of meat, I turned my attention to the girls watching from down below with bated breaths.

"Kill whoever you have to but capture the ones who surrender." I commanded.

"Hmm?"

The queen raised an eyebrow to the order I gave to the girls, but she didn't react, and that cost her everything.

Sylvie sprung into action the moment I gave the order. She ripped out the male lamia's throat before he could even react. While Selthia only needed a single touch to rid their body of every drop of liquid, turning them into husks.

Kumo's webs shot out, incapacitating them lamias rushing to surround them and Khalissi boredly yawned as her staff appeared in her hand. She pointed her staff to the entrance of the vast room where more lamias were rushing in after hearing the commotion.

They were all met with a cruel fate as an explosion of dark magic rippled from the staff, consuming them whole. The entire labyrinth shook just from that single explosion.

"You insolent—"

The lamia queen made to react, but just then I sank my claws into her scales, shattering them like glass. She screamed in pain before hurling into the wall of the labyrinth.

The walls crumbled from the impact, and before I could even hit the ground, the queen struck again, sinking her fangs deep into my shoulder, pumping me full of her venom before slamming me into the ground.

"Lee?!"

"Liam!"

"Darling!"

The girls tried to rush to my aid as I lay in the crater created from me hitting the ground at full speed, but I stopped them immediately.

"I'm fine, do as I ordered," I said as I climbed to my feet.

The girls were hesitant to leave, but in the end, they followed my order and left to conquer the labyrinth filled with lamias.

"This is it!"

I looked up to see the lamia queen looming over me. She was panting heavily as she licked the remnants of my blood from her lips.

"This is the blood I've been searching for all these years! Finally, after all this time. I will never let you go. I will keep you forever until your veins run dry!"

She looked at me possessively as she continued to spout madness. My head was swimming. With my healing ability, her venom wasn't enough to kill, but it made me feel as if I had downed 50 bottles of alcohol.

At this moment, I was seeing two giant lamia queens isntead of one.

"Oh, you can still stand, impressive. I don't remember werewolves being this resilient."

Her strength was impressive; they say she managed to wound a high-ranked noble vampire, which is how she managed to get a taste of blessed rank blood, causing her to grow obsessed over it.

The lamia slithered from side to side, watching my every move like a hawk before she finally attacked. The speed at which she moved was akin to getting hit by a lightning bolt. I quickly dodged her attack as it impacted the ground with enough force to create a sizable crater.

She didn't skip a beat, and before the dust settled, she swung her serpentine tail towards me. I took the brute force of the attack while managing to latch on to her tail without losing balance. Using her momentum, I propelled her towards the wall.

She impacted with a loud crash, which caused the entire room to shake.

Just then, I heard the distant screams and shouts of her people. It sounded like the girls were causing quite the commotion.

Especially that demon Khalissi. I could hear her spells going off in the distance and the terror of whoever was foolish enough to get caught up in the attack. Hearing the distant screams of her people, the lamia queen looked panicked.

She scrambled to get up and rushed towards the exit in panic, but before she could, I stepped on her tail, stopping her in her tracks.

"We're not done, your majesty. Lets have a proper talk."

"You! Dog!"

Her eyes were dripping with hate as she once again came at me. Her sharp fangs snapped at my throat, but before she could get a bite in, I ducked below her attack and, like skinning a wild animal, I dug my claws into her scaled hide.

She released a loud, hideous scream, one that shook the very foundation of Eden. She thrashed around trying to shake me off, but I was relentless. My claws were like surgical tools, dismantling her scales and snapping at the flesh below.

I didn't aim to kill her. Her pain coupled with the sound of her own people's suffering would bring true despair. That despair would be a foothold for claiming her as part of my pack. Not only her, but her whole colony. Hearing their queen's screams would also cause despair among her people.

For that reason, I aimed to get the loudest scream as possible out of her.

Everyone has ways in which they could be broken or made to yield.

When I gazed into her predatorial eyes, I judged that this was the only way, so I acted accordingly.
