"So you're him… the wolf."
Allucard's eyes had a strange shimmer as he spoke.
"And you're Allucard. The little tyrant to be."
His posture was very lax as if he didn't have any care in the world. Every move he made was deliberate.
"I knew you would come. Something told me that you and that girl were close. Not to toot my own horn, but I just knew you would come for her," he chuckled.
While he spoke, I realized something. There were more heartbeats upstairs than there were down here. Instead of being with him, most of the vampires seemed to have been given a different mission.
The moment I realized that, I deployed one of my shadow hounds, making it pass from shadow to shadow undetected. Allucard's attention was so focused on me that he didn't even notice.
"You've given us a lot of trouble, you know that? First with that stunt you pulled when you first arrived. And then that thing with the ratfolk. You're basically a terrorist."
"Who said I have anything to do with any of those?"
He chuckled softly and shook his head.
"A few of my servants witnessed the destruction you caused on the day you arrived. And that thing with the ratfolk is happening here all over again. Except with the vampires I have on my estate. And the fact that you're here while it's all happening couldn't be a coincidence."
This vampire was looking at me with fascination. One similarity between werewolves and vampires was that they both obsess over their prey once they've set their sights on them. There are even times when they kidnap their prey and spend time with them so that they develop an emotional connection to them.
This makes the moment they kill them more special. But the scary thing about this is that it was done subconsciously. In your mind, you really love that person, but in truth, what you really want to do is tear their throat out.
Allucard was subconsciously trying to build a relationship with me so that the moment he kills me will feel more special to him. Of course, I wouldn't allow that to happen.
"That's not the only thing I've done. Don't you want to hear about Victor?" I asked, and immediately as I did, Allucard's eyes glowed red.
"My brother."
"Yes, your brother… Strangely, right before he died, Victor said something. Something that stuck with me."
Allucard's eyes narrowed sharply.
"What did he say?"
I flashed him a smile before continuing.
"He said that if I killed him, I would be hunted down. That the Veylmont clan would slaughter my entire bloodline."
"He really said that?"
"I bet he must be rolling over in his grave right about now. If you ask me, he thought too highly of your clan. Maybe you aren't as powerful as he thought—"
Before I could even finish the sentence, Allucard appeared in front of me. At that moment, it felt as if time itself slowed. His hands were raised with a sword wove from blood. The weapon glinted as it traced a deadly arc towards my neck.
Allucard was in the perfect position to carry out the kill, but this also placed him in the perfect position for Selthia to use her magic. I was bait, and he fell for it. And I knew that if anyone would understand my intentions, it would be Selthia, which is why I was so confident.
As the weapon was mere inches away from my neck, Selthia struck. Her water magic sliced through the air towards Allucard, forcing the vampire to parry at the last second. Sparks flew as he deflected the attack, but he didn't even have time to breathe before Sylvie was after his neck.
Sylvie moved on all fours, dodging Allucard's strikes, but the vampire's speed and efficiency was so great that she couldn't get close enough. Realizing this, Kumo acted instantly and used her webs to try and slow the vampire's movements.
"You pest!" Allucard shouted as he looked behind him for support, but all his vampires were already dead.
Kaguya dispatched them with brutal efficiency. Her face portrayed no emotion even as Allucard glared her. She only stared at him blankly with her bloodied stakes in hand.
"You traitor!"
Allucard gritted his teeth, and soon orbs of blood began to form around him. The orbs then attached themselves to him, creating a form of armor made of blood. This armor looked familiar to the ones samurais used.
Allucard dropped his guard for just a second as he fashioned the armor, and at that moment, Selthia struck. She used her water magic once again. The liquid blade made a loud swish sound as it traced a path through the air and impacted on Allucard, sounding a loud clang.
But in the aftermath of the attack, Allucard stood unscathed.
Without wasting another second, I moved into his blindside and struck from the shadows as he was focused on the girls. Sparks flew as my claws traced across his blood armor.
I managed to create a gash, but still, I couldn't break through. Allucard reacted at that very moment and swung his sword. The blade cleaved through the mansion as I barely escaped its path.
That single strike showed just how destructive Allucard was, but for some reason, he was holding back. He was being careful so he didn't destroy the mansion. He was protecting someone by holding back. The perfect weakness for me to exploit.
"Darling!" Selthia shouted.
"I'm fine, don't worry."
"Y-Your… Your shoulder!"
Hmm?
Seeing the look on Selthia's face, I finally took a look at myself.
I thought I dodged!
Engrossed in the battle, I didn't even realize that Allucard's attack had sliced through my shoulder. My shoulder was left dangling off like a half sawed off branch. Blood and flesh weaved together as my wound slowly healed.
"GRR!"
I glanced up to see Sylvie growling while glaring at Allucard. She looked as if she was going crazy.
"Sylvie, calm down, I'm fine, See? Look I'm healing."
I spoke, but it was as if the words weren't getting through to her.
"He's fine, Sylvie, see he's healing," Selthia tried to get through to her, but her words didn't have any effect either.
"You hurt Lee!"
She was dead set on Allucard. In her mind she was protecting me. It was hard to get through to her in his state.
Allucard grinned mockingly at her and raised his sword high. Sylvie's eyes glowed bright orange as she glared at Allucard. Her tail was extended high in the air, and her claws seemed to grow longer the more her rage heightened.
Her back legs exploded as she launched herself at the vampire.
