Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 178: Allucard Battle

Allucard raised his sword high in anticipation of Sylvie's attack. She moved with agility as she pounced at Allucard. The flame color of her eyes showcased her intensity. I tried to move. To stop her, but my body wasn't healed enough yet. My movements were too slow, and in the end, I could do nothing but watch.

Allucard let out a mad laugh when he saw Sylvie charging at him. His sword cleaved through the air, perfectly aimed to cut her in half. The force from his swing caused the air to crackle, and his fast movements made everything look like a blur for those who couldn't keep up.

My breath stopped for a moment as I imagined the worst, but to my surprise, Sylvie dodged the attack. She ducked below the blade, her eyes never leaving Allucard even when under the threat of being cut in half.

"How did you?"

Allucard's face portrayed utter shock, but he didn't waste a second. He pivoted on his heel, using the momentum of his first swing to follow through with his second swing. This time, the blade carried even more force, and his speed was faster than what most people in the room could perceive.

A gale of wind danced around the tip of the blade as it traced an arc towards Sylvie. Sylvie, lost in her rage, didn't even spare the blade a glance. It was as if she was acting purely on instincts as she once again moved out of the path of the blade, pressing closer to Allucard.

Allucard's annoyance was on full display; he looked as if he was trying to swat a persistent bee. Sylvie closed the distance between her and Allucard as he prepared to take another swing. The moment she got in close, she thrust her claws forward.

The moment it impacted on Allucard's armor plate, it sounded as if a sharp explosion went off.

CRACK!

Everyone's faces contorted in shock the moment Sylvie made impact.

The same plate which I had struggled to scratch shattered like glass underneath Sylvie's claws.

"You hurt Lee!"

Her claws ripped through his armor and buried themselves deep into Allucard's flesh. Blood spilled out from the crack as his eyes widened at her. He wasn't the only one surprised by this turn of events.

'When did she become so powerful?'

"Sylvie will protect Lee!"

Allucard gritted his teeth and swung his sword once again, but just as before, Sylvie dodged the attack and slashed at the blood armor covering his chest plate. Sylvie sliced through the armor like a hot knife cutting through butter. The chest plate fell to the ground like a 300-pound weight being dropped.

Still, every time Allucard attacked, he was getting closer and closer to actually hitting her. Sylvie danced through all of his attacks, dismantling his armor piece by piece. Her movements were a mixture of gracefulness and ferocity as her claws danced along the edge of Allucard's armor.

Allucard tried desperately to fend her off, but he couldn't land a hit because of her quick and unpredictable movements. The way werewolves moved whenever they fought was a pain to deal with, and Sylvie was a master of this.

Her movements were unpredictable. She continued to move around Allucard, clawing at any weakness she found. Piece by piece, she dismantled his armor until Allucard let out a guttural roar.

The sword in his hand increased in size, and so did his speed. In a blink of an eye, he appeared in front of Sylvie and sent her flying into the wall. The wall cracked, and Sylvie collapsed. The moment she fell, Allucard stood over her with his sword raised.

The air whistled as he attempted a vertical swing aimed at cutting Sylvie, but I stopped him at the last second. My claws ripped through the air and parried the blade before it could make contact with Sylvie.

Sparks flew as the blade was deflected, and immediately I was aided by support from Kumo and Selthia. Kumo covered the sword in her web, practically dulling the blade. While Selthia used water magic to knock him back.

Sylvie sprang to her feet, ready to attack once again, but I grabbed her and hugged her tightly. Only by stroking her hair did she finally begin to calm down. Though she was able to weaken his armor, giving us a better chance, her actions were still reckless. Allucard wasn't the type of foe you should charge at wildly.

"Calm down, Sylvie. I'm fine."

"Sylvie can't. Bad man hurt Lee," she whispered adamantly. "Sylvie has to protect Lee so Lee won't get hurt."

"I'm fine. Look, see, I'm healed."

"But…"

"I promise I won't get hurt as long as you don't get hurt."

She looked up at me, her eyes reverting back to their former state.

"Promise?"

"Yes, I promise."

"Darling?!"

Just then, Selthia and Kumo called out to me. They couldn't hold back Allucard any longer. Having worked everything out, I turned my attention back to Allucard. Sylvie had destroyed most of his armor, so most of him was left exposed.

Selthia and Kumo were using their water magic and web in unison to try to block him off, but the monstrous vampire just powered through their attacks. Before appearing in front of them with his sword poised to kill.

He swung his sword aimed at killing them, but I intervened just in time to stop him. I planted my claws into his unguarded back. With his armor mostly destroyed, I could use my hellfire to burn away at his lifeforce.

Allucard retaliated and swung his sword horizontally towards me. The blade cleaved through the air, almost nipping at my face at the same time. This one strike left him open enough so that Sylvie could make her move.

Sylvie pounced on the vampire and sank her fangs down into his neck. Allucard let out a pained scream as Sylvie's fangs penetrated his neck. And before he could retaliate, his entire body was wrapped up in Kumo's webs while Selthia prepared a powerful magical blast.

It sounded like a small explosion when Selthia let rip her magic. Allucard was blasted away, destroying the walls in his mansion just from the sheer force at which he was catapulted.

Once he was down, I didn't give him the chance to get back up. I clawed at his eyes, relieving him of one of his senses at least temporarily. He growled in pain as he tried to figure out where I was, but I suppressed my presence, and so did Kaguya who teleported behind him and sank her stake into his back.

Allucard reeled in pain as he swung at Kaguya, but the lethal assassin was already gone; this time she appeared to the left of him and dug the other stake into his throat.

Allucard gurgled blood as he pulled the stake from his throat, but the moment he did, he was met with another blow as this time I struck between the gap of his shoulder, immobilizing his dominant arm.

Though he would heal easily from these wounds, healing took time. Every second he spent healing was time for us to create more damage to his already beaten state, and that's the strategy we used.

We moved in unison as we picked the vampire piece by piece. As long as he was forced to hold back, then we had the advantage in the long run. But no matter the extent of the damage we did to him, he still refused to use the full extent of his ability.

On the other side of the mansion, Khalissi and Yuki were both battling the vampires who weren't turned to ghouls. Around them was a sea of bodies.

"Yes, yes, yes," Yuki squealed with every vampire she killed. And with everyone, her tail grew stronger.

She was now far faster than she could've ever imagined she would be. She danced through the mob of vampires coming after her. She was just too slippery for them to catch. Her scorpion-like tail was dripping with the blood of her foes.

With a single strike, she could relieve a vampire of its head, and with every one she killed, her body shuddered with pleasure.

"Are you sure you're not a demon?" Khalissi asked when she saw the ghoul in action.

She too was enjoying the thrill of the kill. But her joy seemed like nothing compared to the ghoul beside her.

"This is so much fun," Yuki giggled as she killed yet another vampire.

Khalissi hovered in the sky, her beautiful translucent wings flapping gracefully with every beat.

She looked at the pitiful creatures below her and it brought a warm smile to her face. She then summoned her staff in the palm of her hand. Soon dark magic began to hover around the tip of her staff.

"This is a spell I haven't used in a while," she chuckled before muttering: "Totem!"

Immediately, a brilliant purple light erupted, spreading through the sky. The vampires watched in awe, blissfully unaware of the danger that was about to unfold.
