"Liam,"
Isabella called my name as tears rolled down her face. The first order of business was getting her strength back. For that, I offered her my blood. I offered her my wrist, but she didn't even react.
"Y-You really came for me? I thought you wouldn't have."
"Don't be silly, of course I did."
"But Allucard, he'll…"
"It's fine, you don't have to worry about that anymore," I assured her, then offered her my blood again.
"I can't. This is all my fault, I shouldn't have left. Because of that, I put you in danger to come after me. You should've just left me here…"
She was spiraling, blaming it all on herself, so I did the only thing I knew would snap her out of it. I brought her close and kissed her on the lips. The moment our lips touched, her face returned a bit of its color.
I then brought my lips closer to her ear, which was now bright red. I whispered something so that only the two of us knew.
"I love you, Isabella."
Her pale face somehow got even paler, and her dying heartbeat now sounded like a war drum was beating inside her chest.
"Are you serious, do you really mean that?" Tears welled up in the corner of her eyes, but I quickly wiped them away and offered her my wrist again.
"Dummy, I only drink from your neck."
A smile appeared on her face as she pulled me closer to her and sank her fangs into my neck.
"Tsk! That leech!"
"We shouldn't have helped get her back. Now she's gonna hog darling all for herself."
I could hear some disapproving grunts coming from behind me. It seemed the girls were a bit jealous. I could feel their eyes peering at the back of my head. While I felt happy. Strangely, I missed the feeling of her drinking my blood, but then she suddenly pulled away, and her eyes turned blood red.
"Someone else has been drinking here."
"What do you mean?"
Her face turned into a pout before she began sniffing my neck.
"I smell mother on you, and also… someone else."
"That's because your mother also came with me to rescue you."
The moment I spoke, Isabella finally noticed the others behind us. And among them, her mother stood looking a bit hesitant to approach her daughter, maybe out of shame.
"Mother."
Hearing her daughter call her name, Kaguya stepped forward while I stepped back to give the two some space.
"Isabella, I… I'm sorry for leaving you here. And for everything I have done. I haven't been a good mother in the past, but I was hoping that—"
Before Kaguya could finish speaking, Isabella jumped at her and wrapped her arms around her mother's neck.
"Whatever you're going to say, I forgive you. And I want the two of us to start over," Isabella cried.
Kaguya smiled and returned her daughter's embrace while stroking her hair tenderly.
"This all feels like a dream," Isabella whispered.
"I'll be with you always from now on. No matter what. You don't have to worry about me leaving," Kaguya said, and for the first time, I saw the cold-hearted maid break. Tears accumulated in the corner of her eyes, and her nose was bright pink. I could hardly tell that it was her.
After Isabella and her mother were done with their embrace, she turned to Sylvie, Selthia, and Kumo, looking at them with appreciation.
"Thank you for your help," she said and bowed her head to them. They all looked shell-shocked, but they wouldn't let her off that easily.
"Hmph! We only did this for darling's sake."
"Your disappearance was giving us all a headache."
"Lee was sad because of Leech."
Isabella smiled at their words as if she had somehow expected it.
"Well, I'm sorry, it won't happen again."
After that, we all went back up to the mansion. When we exited the cellar, Khalissi and Yuki were there waiting for us.
"Who are they?" Isabella asked, looking at me sharply. "More women?"
"Khalissi is a demon I met shortly after you were gone, and Yuki is a ghoul I met here in Purgatory. They also assisted in rescuing you."
"I assume everything went well," Khalissi asked.
"Yes, it did. Thank you both."
"We should hurry it up. That man will be here at any moment. He's moving here quickly, so that means he must've sensed something."
"Yes, you're right," I agreed. "There is just one more thing I need to take care of."
Inside the mansion, Allucard was on the ground in pure despair. His face was bloodied, but his pain seemed to have come from psychological torture. Likely from Aphrodite telling him that all his treasured memories were fake.
Aphrodite sat on the bed, her legs crossed, and looked at Allucard with an amused smile on her face. She seemed to be having the time of her life torturing him.
"Are you done?" I asked.
"He's a broken toy no longer worth playing with," she shrugged. "Such a pity, I thought he would give me more excitement."
Isabella looked at Aphrodite with wide eyes, wondering why Allucard's wife was acting so differently and why she had joined with us. All of that could be explained later, so she didn't bother asking.
I approached Allucard, who was lying on the floor, a bloodied mess.
I knelt down so he could see my face.
"For what you did to Isabella, I will make your death a tragedy."
"You'll suffer for it," he whispered weakly.
"That's what your brother said."
He gritted his teeth and stared at me with a nasty scowl. But that was all he could do. Right now, he was at his weakest. Worn down to the point where he could easily break.
"What do you plan to do with him anyway?" Aphrodite asked. "I fail to see anything you can do that would be worse than what we have already done."
I ignored her question and instead focused on Allucard. I then raised my claws and sank them into the back of his neck.
