Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 202: Strange Girl

While Selthia went to handle the vampires, all 180 of them that were on the premises, I, on the other hand, went to deal with the one who would pose the most difficulty. I intended to give her the same treatment I gave her father.

After that, I planned to meet Selthia with the other vampires. I appeared in front of her door and without wasting another second, I broke down the door.

The room inside was dark, but even then I could still see the deplorable condition it was in. The walls were scorched. It was a mess of clothes and other pieces of scrap. Her bed, for whatever reason, was completely demolished.

The owner of this room was curled up in a corner of the room. Her long blonde hair fell behind her, covering her slender figure. I thought she would attack me the moment I entered, but she didn't even react.

"Are you here to kill me?" her voice was soft and low, barely above a whisper.

There was something about the aura she was giving off that let me drop my guard. I couldn't sense any killing intent from her. Neither could I sense any fear. Her heartbeat was slow and steady.

"Would you like me to kill you?"

"I… Yes. Will you?"

She was strange indeed. A vampire that wants to die and tries constantly to kill herself. There was a huge difference between someone who wasn't afraid to die and someone who wanted to die.

This was the first time I was meeting someone like this and it intrigued me.

"Why do you want to die?" I asked.

For a moment, only silence lingered between us before she suddenly turned her head back to look at me. Her eyes were glowing red with veins pulsing beneath the skin. Her face was as white as ashes.

"You don't smell as bad as the others. Why is that?" She asked.

Having no clue what she meant, I was momentarily lost for words. Suddenly, she turned around and began crawling on all fours towards me. As she crawled towards me, the first thing I noticed was a trail of blood behind her, then I realized something.

Her wrist was slit. She must've been trying to bleed herself to death, and the fact that she hadn't had any blood was slowing her healing.

The more I watched her, the more fascinated I got about how odd she was.

She raised her nose towards me and began sniffing.

"Your scent… It doesn't make me feel like puking. What kind of creature are you?" She asked, looking at me with curiosity.

"The kind your people hate… The kind whose very scent is enough to make you fold your nose in disgust."

"Oh," she nodded her head seemingly in understanding. "So you're a vampire."

For a moment, I was speechless.

"How did you come to that conclusion?"

"You said something that makes you fold your nose in disgust. That sounds like a vampire to me. Though most other creatures elicit the same reaction from me, but vampires make me want to gag."

"You do realize you are also a vampire," I said to the strange girl.

She looked me dead in the eyes and nodded.

"I do realize. But my question still remains. If you're not a vampire, then what are you?"

Before answering her question, I offered her a hand to help her off the ground, but she only sniffed my hand and looked at me more curiously.

"I'm a werewolf," I answered.

She looked at me with a look of wonder. Likely wondering how a werewolf had made it into the city or if I was really lying.

She rested her hand on her chin and began muttering to herself.

"Could that be why I don't find him repulsive? I should run some more tests to find out."

Suddenly, she looked up at me, then climbed to her feet. She then reached her hand out and poked me in the face before quickly retracting her hand.

"What are you doing?" I asked, staring at her with a blank expression.

She didn't answer; instead, she took a deep breath before staring at me with a look of conviction. She closed her eyes before reaching out and resting her palm on my cheek. The moment her hand made contact with my face, her eyes snapped open and she stared at me in disbelief.

"This is strange. I don't feel as if I wanted to amputate my hand or rip the skin from my palm just from touching you. What is this anomaly?"

She continued to talk to herself like a detective uncovering a mystery while completely ignoring my presence.

"Why is it that you're different from the others?"

"I have no clue," I answered her with a shrug of my shoulders. "I am curious. You know what I did to your father, don't you?"

"My father? I have no father. I don't have anyone. But anyway, your presence, could you be willing to let me try something?"

I raised an eyebrow at her question.

"What do you mean?"

"Your blood. I'm usually averse to drinking other people's blood, but the fact that you're here and I don't want to throw up means you're different. So I would like to try your blood."

"You expect me to give you my blood?"

I stared into her eyes, and she didn't even blink. She was dead serious.

She truly expected me to give an enemy vampire blood. I saw the destruction she caused before, and that was even though she was deprived of blood.

I would hate to see the destruction she would cause if I actually fed her.

This girl was either extremely cunning or just too naive.

Either way, I wouldn't be taking any unnecessary risk by feeding her.

She tilted her head and looked at me with curiosity.

"No, I won't allow you to feed on me."

Her eyes flashed with anger, and I could feel the heat radiating from her body.

But again, there was no bloodlust.

This girl…

She had no killing intent…

"Fine, I'll just take it by force."

Her eyes glowed bright red as she launched herself towards me. Her sharp fangs snapped at my neck, but I sidestepped her at the last second to escape her path.

It felt as if a wave of heat was emanating from her until her body suddenly combusted into flames.

High temperatures themselves rarely had an effect on me, so I wasn't affected by the heat of her flames.

Within an instant, the entire room was engulfed by flames. It looked as if she created a small tornado of flames around her, and using those flames, she created a small explosion at her feet, propelling her towards me.

The nails on her fingers were long and pointed, and they whistled like a knife as it slashed at my face.

Her eyes were blood red, and coupled with the flames covering her, it made her look like a demon.

Her ability was interesting to say the least. Covering herself in flames would work against most foes, and this was while she was lacking blood.

I couldn't help but wonder what she would be like at her strongest. With a little more nurturing, she could reach her true potential.

Looking at her, I felt as if I had found a diamond in the cesspool know as Purgatory. With a little cleaning, she could truly shine.

'It seems I won't only be taking Amon's house but also his daughter.'

She unleashed her true powers, engulfing the once luxurious mansion in flames. The walls melted like butter. The ceiling collapsed from the sheer force of her power, and through it all, her eyes remained empty.

She grabbed at my neck, the flames on her body still crackling loudly. In one fluid motion, I grabbed her hand while at the same time knocking her off her feet.

The flames from her body wrapped around my hand, and though it stung, that was all it did.

Khalissi's flames were much more corrosive; maybe it was because it was laced with her magic.

She tried to retaliate by upping the intensity of her flames, but it still didn't have much of an effect. Maybe it was because she was weakened from not consuming blood.

With her under my grasp, all it took was one precise blow to the knee to knock her unconscious.

Immediately, her flames disappeared. I then lifted up her unconscious body and placed her where she wouldn't get in the way of the battle that was unfolding.

I could hear the battle going on between Selthia and the vampires. She seemed to be holding her own even though she was outnumbered.

Since I instructed her not to kill them, she instead knocked them unconscious.

I went to join her, and soon the two of us were fighting side by side. Selthia used her beauty and her voice to draw all the vampires into one place.

They were all drawn under her spell before she struck. She used her voice to shatter their eardrums, relieving them of one of their senses.

She then used her water magic to knock them unconscious or cripple them.

Soon, all the vampires were laying at our feet, and it was time for me to go forward with the next part of my plan.
