The wave of heat emanating from the vampire crashed down like a furnace. Selthia backed down, but she was still on guard in case anything happened. The vampire looked like a wild animal caught between two hunters.
Her eyes darted to Selthia, then back to me, but her gaze lingered on my neck, which she was just snacking on.
'Vampires were all the same.' I thought.
She was too delirious to talk to, so I needed to calm her down. Without wasting another second, I slit my wrist.
"Darling?"
Blood immediately poured out the wound and dripped onto the bed. She watched my blood greedily.
"I don't have any intention of hurting you." I said as I offered her my wrist.
She hesitated and looked up at me warily, but she appeared in front of me in an instant and sank her teeth into my wrist, drinking greedily. I slowly began stroking her hair as she drank, and the flames covering her body began to fade.
Her racing heartbeat also subsided.
"Great. Another leech," Selthia grumbled. "Are you sure it's a good idea to feed her? She'll only get stronger and she can turn against us at any moment."
"It's fine. If anything happens, I can handle it," I assured her.
If I couldn't handle her, I wouldn't have fed her in the first place. I continued to stroke her hair as she fed, and soon, even her heartbeat slowed down. While she drank, Selthia used the chance to get dressed and in turn handed me my own clothes.
"Thank you for your help last night," I said.
She smiled and nodded.
"Of course, I'm just happy I can help," she replied. She then approached me and gave me a kiss on the lips before leaving the room.
I thought I sensed something off about her but it must've been my imagination.
It looked as if she wanted to give me a chance to speak with the vampire. It was a few minutes before the vampire was satisfied enough to pull herself away.
"Why doesn't your blood taste as disgusting as the others? It's blessed quality blood, but I've tasted blessed quality blood before and I still didn't like it, so why?"
"I don't know myself," I said as I wiped the blood from her lips with my finger.
"You attacked me before," she pouted.
"Actually, you were the one that attacked me," I corrected her. Looking at her, I couldn't help but feel curious about something. "Are you really not angry that I killed your father?"
She blinked and stared at me blankly.
"Why would I? I've been locked up for so long that I barely remember what he looks like. It's all a blur," she rested her hand on her chin as if she was trying to recall. "The only thing I can remember is that hellish room and feeling as if I wanted to end it all."
"If that's the case, then I want to form a deal with you."
"A deal? What kind of deal?"
"You like drinking my blood, don't you?" I asked already knowing the answer.
"Yes," she nodded and looked at me curiously.
"In exchange for you lending me your power, I'll allow you to drink my blood. Plus, I'll offer you a place in my pack."
"Your blood does taste really good," she mumbled to herself. "And my mind is no longer foggy thanks to it. I no longer want to hurt myself. Okay, you have a deal."
Saying that, she quickly extended her hand for a handshake. I didn't hesitate and shook her hand. The moment I grabbed her hand, I pulled her in close and bit into her neck. She didn't resist as I pumped my venom into her system.

+-----+
Léa? So that's her name. She hadn't done much to level up. She probably got that high from killing the vampires who tried to keep her in her room. Still, with the power she possessed, she was a gem. I will make her shine in due time.
While I read her status, Léa proceeded to sink her fangs into my neck and began sucking my blood. I allowed her to drink my blood until she was tired and couldn't drink anymore. It was then that I finally left the room.
I needed to speak to Khalissi about something. These last couple of weeks, I asked her to find out something for me.
I arrived at her room and knocked on her door. I immediately heard a loud 'I'm coming' before the door mechanics began clicking open. Khalissi opened the door wearing only an oversized T-shirt, a toothbrush in her mouth and a mug in her hand.
"Don't you know it's unsightly to visit a girl this early in the morning?" she asked with a teasing smile on her face.
"You're a demon, it doesn't matter," I answered as I walked past her and entered the room.
I glanced around her room as I stepped in. It was clean and it smelled fresh, but it wasn't exactly tidy. Her clothes were thrown about, and I spotted a few empty wine bottles. I learned this recently, but Khalissi was actually a heavy drinker.
I walked over to her bed and lifted up what looked to be a worn underwear where I was about to sit. I waved it in front of her as if I was waving a toy in front of a cat. She said nothing and only stared at me blankly with her hands on her hips.
"A more modest girl would've blushed."
"You said it yourself, I'm a demon. You can keep it if you want, I have plenty more."
"No thank you. As to the reason why I'm here…"
"You want to talk to me about that thing you asked me to look into." She finished my sentence.
I nodded.
"Yes, it's that exactly. What have you found out?"
Khalissi stopped brushing her teeth and spat into the mug she was holding in her hand.
"You were right. They do have a reservoir of mana crystals here."
"Thought so."
This city practically runs on the power given from mana crystals. It made sense that they would have a place where they kept all these crystals.
Since their society practically runs on mana crystals, if I took them away, I practically cripple them. It would be like taking away the power supply of an entire city. This was just the first step into pushing them into despair.
"So, do you know where the mana crystals are being kept?" I asked but just then...
KNOCK!
KNOCK!
Just then, a loud knocking came from the door. Khalissi went to answer it, but before she did, the door was shoved in resounding in a loud bang! It was Kumo. She was practically out of breath, and her eyes darted around the room until it landed on me.
"Darling, come quick, something happened to Selthia."
