The witch of sloth. My senses were locked onto her, but even in the state I was in, I wasn't foolish enough to go after her.
"Darling, would you like to go on a hunt?" Selthia asked, looking at me with concern evident on her face.
I took several more deep breaths. It was getting harder and harder to control my bloodlust.
When did I get so emotional?
Giving in to the temptation of killing something is probably not a good idea.
I need to be more careful from here on.
"I'm fine, we should go back home."
My vision was doubled, and my ears were ringing. It felt as if my body was punishing me for not giving in to my urges.
This wasn't the first time I was experiencing a strong urge to kill. It happened a lot for werewolves. I remember my family and I experienced it a lot when we first went to live in the city, but over time we managed to suppress our urges without hurting anyone.
While back then the other werewolves of the Lycann pack took out their bloodlust on the skinwalkers.
The only difference is that what I was feeling now was 10 times stronger. And it was only increasing.
It was as if my body was telling me the only way I could get stronger was by killing.
Soon, we arrived back at Grey Waste. Most of the others were already sleeping, so I went back to my room with Selthia. I collapsed onto my bed, closing my eyes as I tried to clear my mind. But my senses were too heightened for me to think straight.
"Your bloodlust is too high, darling. Your body feels as if it is burning up. This happens to one of my sisters a lot. But I've only experienced it once."
I heard Selthia's voice, but I could hardly understand what she was saying. My mind was too foggy. Everything smelled like blood. Every sound sounded like a heartbeat.
My claws were out, and my fangs were bursting through my gums. I faintly opened my eyes to see Selthia's silhouette undressing while I lay on the bed.
"What are you doing?" I faintly muttered out.
"We need to cool you down. This is the best way."
She was only wearing her underwear; her face was bright red, and her voice was high-pitched.
"Cuddling is the best way to calm your bloodlust right now. When one of my sisters was experiencing this, we would all cuddle together. Our body heat would help the other relax."
Saying that, Selthia unhooked her bra and watched it fall to the ground. After that, she removed the last piece of clothing covering her.
For a split second, I forgot my bloodlust. She was gorgeous. Every inch of her was perfect.
"Don't stare too closely."
She mumbled something under her breath, unzipping my pants. She proceeded to remove my clothes until both of us were naked.
"We're only going to cuddle," she repeated again. It looked as if she was trying to convince herself rather than me.
She fell beside me on the bed. Her soft skin pressed against me as her hands wrapped around my abdomen.
"You're warm," she whispered.
"You're cold," I whispered. "You're always cold."
She giggled softly. She seemed a bit giddy.
"You realized? My body normally runs at a low temperature. While your temperature is usually high. We're the opposite."
I slowly wrapped my hands around her waist, bringing her closer to me.
"Opposites attract."
"You seem to be feeling better."
"Yes. What we're doing is working. We should do it more often."
She giggled and rested her head against my chest.
"Yes, we should."
My senses slowly returned to normal, so much so that I could now think clearly.
I was happy I didn't do anything stupid, like going after one of the four queen witches. I was also glad that Selthia was here to help lower my bloodlust.
I glanced down to see that she had already fallen asleep. She smelled of salt, and her ocean-blue hair glowed in the dark room.
The heat of her body radiated against my cold skin, warming her up while her body cooled me down.
Slowly, my eyes began to close, and I drifted off.
…
The next morning, I awakened to a sharp pain in my neck. Selthia was still wrapped up in my arms, and for a moment I thought it was Isabella, but something felt different.
My eyes shot open, and the first thing I saw were golden locks.
In our state, we had completely forgotten about the daughter of the Sun clan.
She was on top of me, drinking my blood.
"Mmm!"
She moaned softly, then lifted up her head to take a breather, and that's when our eyes met.
Her once pale skin was now glowing with life. She wasn't as skinny as before. Now she was well-proportioned.
Her eyes were the same color as blood as she licked the blood from her lips.
"This is so good!" She shouted as she threw her head back in excitement.
At the same time, Selthia woke up from the commotion. Her eyes flashed with anger the moment she saw the vampire.
She sprang from the sheets, ready to attack. Sensing the threat, the vampire's body burst into flames. This time, her flames were much more vigorous.
Just the heat from it was enough to melt the walls and ceiling like butter.
Seeing the conflict which was going to unfold between the two, I immediately stepped between them.
"Darling, step aside, let me kill that bitch."
The moisture from the air around us had already begun to form orbs.
"She could've attacked us while we slept, but she didn't. It is for that reason it is best to talk to her. Maybe we can get her on our side," I explained.
"But she was…"
Seeing where I was coming from, Selthia took a few deep breaths to calm herself, then the orbs of water surrounding her disappeared.
I then turned my attention to the vampire that was still covered in flames.
She looked like a feral animal being ambushed. She bared her fangs and stared at us with clear intention to kill.
