Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 221: Secret Meeting(2)

Days passed, and the Kitsune continued to accumulate followers. She had created a sizable faction against the vampires and the witches while the city was practically lawless.

The lich and the wights couldn't handle the influx of crime. A civil war had ensued.

At this point, the vampires and the witches could no longer keep quiet. They had elected to hold a meeting to discuss the current state of things.

But only four queen witches and the leader of the Veylmont clan would be in attendance.

The person who elected to hold this meeting was, of course, the witch of greed and her sister Aphrodite.

The two organized a room for their guests and sat and waited patiently.

Aphrodite sat with her arms crossed, filing her nails. There was a servant wearing a dog collar bowing before her.

She also had ears and a tail like that of a golden retriever. Her green hair was now cut short, and her maid uniform was tailored to look more seductive.

She stuck out her tongue just like a puppy and stared up at Aphrodite with round green eyes.

The witch of greed occasionally glanced over at them, but her attention was mostly focused on the book she was reading.

After a while, she took another glance at them and couldn't help but say:

"You've trained her well. I can hardly tell that thing is Ember. You mind telling me how you did it?"

Aphrodite's lips curved up into a smile.

"That's one secret I'll never tell. See what sharing secrets gets me?"

"I won't betray you. No matter what happens, I'll always see you as the founder," the witch of greed said.

Aphrodite put on a happy smile.

"I know you will, dear sister."

Long ago, when Aphrodite first came to this world, she was the one who taught the inhabitants how to use mana crystals.

After being betrayed by Lucifer, she developed a sort of disdain for men, and seeing how women were treated back in those days, she decided to create a form of sisterhood. That sisterhood is now known as witches.

At first, she was the queen of all witches, since she was the most experienced in using mana crystals, but soon geniuses emerged and she was soon overthrown.

Eventually, they developed more ways to use mana crystals—ways she herself had never thought of.

Aphrodite was never a genius at using mana crystals; she just knew more than the people of this world since she had lived so long in the human realm.

Aphrodite was originally from a world the demon king conquered long ago. She was originally a commoner, but she used her beauty and her wit to marry a lord.

A king eventually got jealous that a mere lord had such a beautiful wife. So the king killed her husband and took her as his wife.

When Lucifer's demon army eventually came to her world, he laid waste to everything and killed all the heroes.

Aphrodite was among those who would be sold as slaves, but then Lucifer took a liking to her. He had traversed different worlds and saw many women, but of them all, Aphrodite was the most beautiful human woman he had ever seen, and so he took her as his fifth wife.

Knock knock.

Just then, a knock came on the door, and a servant came in. Behind him, a short and slender pink-haired girl stood.

"The witch of sloth," Aphrodite chirped happily. "You're the first to arrive. Please come in and have a seat."

The witch of sloth rolled her eyes before turning her back and saying:

"Come on, Yun-Yun."

As she spoke, a tall middle-aged man stepped through the door. This man was her treasured younger brother.

Even though she looked no older than 16 and the young man looked old enough to be her father, they were actually brother and sister, with her being the oldest.

When the man entered the room, he nodded to the witches inside, and at the same time, his older sister hugged his arm happily.

"Let's go have a seat, Yun-Yun," the witch of sloth said with a cheerful smile.

The two took a seat beside each other, still arm in arm. The witch of sloth had no interest in anyone else, only her brother, so she didn't bother paying any attention to the other witches. So the room stayed mostly in silence until the other guests arrived.

The next to arrive was the witch of calamity, a tall woman with blue hair and glasses, dressed in a lab coat. Her expression was a bit irritated.

Not for the witches in the room particularly, but for having the mana crystals she was in charge of safekeeping stolen.

She entered the room and took a seat around the table.

"Now it's just the vampires that are left," the witch of greed sighed.

Not long after she spoke, the next visitor arrived. The next to arrive was the head of the Veylmont clan.

He had a gentlemanly air around him as he strolled into the room and wished everyone a good day.

"Where is Damien Dracule?" he asked as he took a seat.

"He has yet to arrive. Let's wait a few more minutes to see if he'll show," Aphrodite said, and so they waited.

Ten minutes passed. Then twenty, and just when half an hour was about to pass, the door finally creaked open.

A man wearing a black trench coat stepped in. His hair and his appearance made him look like a bird that was drenched by the rain.

"Welcome, Damien," Aphrodite said happily, but he did not answer.

He didn't even spare her a glance. Instead, he walked over to the window. Everyone watched him, feeling confused as to what this odd man was doing, but he didn't pay their disgruntled looks any mind.

Stopping at the window, he glanced down and saw a bird sitting on the window ledge. This bird was a pitch-black raven.

He stared at the creature with his pale yellow eyes without uttering a word.

"Is something the matter?" Aphrodite asked.

Damien ignored her once again and this time went to take his seat with the others. With everyone now present, it was time to begin the discussion.

"So, what are we going to do about this wolf?"
