Hidden Moth

Chapter 128: One Banner's Authority and Four Banners' Value (Part 2)

Li Weiping's sister, Li Chun, is now a Tier Two Scholar of the Micro Realm Sect. She hasn't been expelled, merely restricted and penalized for a year, but she remains a disciple of the Magic Sect.

There are ten such sorcerers from the Shi Family. What will happen to this group of disciples now that the original lineage has been abolished by the Magic Sect?

In principle, they will be transferred to the lineage of Kang Rulin, either directly managed by Kang Rulin or under someone he assigns. This includes Guests of Fate like Shi Haotu, not affected by restrictions.

Dealing with a massive entity like the Huiming Shi Family is far more complex than the lists and numbers mentioned above.

Take confiscation as an example, anything reclaimed by the Magic Sect must have a basis in karma. The Shi Family with its large sorcerer group has created immense wealth over many years, not all through illicit means.

The Shi Family also owns numerous industries and assets, each with different origins and conditions, some of which may be confiscated and overseen by the Magic Sect.

Yet, some will remain for relevant people of the Shi Family as these were rightfully theirs.

Even with the properties to be confiscated and managed, operations are very complex. Estimating it could take a year and a half to complete even after setting resolution principles.

The Ancestral Hall brought in lawyers like Yao Shaolan, along with finance, audit, and other professionals to investigate, distinguish, and integrate operations.

The Shi Family still retains many assets, after all, not everyone was involved in Shi Zhizhai's affairs, nor were all assets unlawfully obtained. Even when confiscation takes place, it must be karmically justified.

The Ancestral Hall took control of the two mining companies secretly controlled by Shi Zhizhai and a plantation group with multiple modern agricultural demonstration bases, all related to cultivation resources.

Kanglin Hotel was also taken over by the Ancestral Hall.

Does the Magic Sect's Hall of Sect Rules have assets? Certainly, it oversees the development of magical cultivation resources and coordinates distribution, specific industries are managed by corresponding sects.

The biggest gain this time is from the Shi Family's secret vault. The vault was accessed and entered by four elders, with each item identified and registered.

The most precious among them possibly isn't A Piece of Cloud, but the artifact refining legacy left by the ancestors of the Cangyun Lineage, recorded in a Purple Jade Bamboo Scroll, known as the Inheritance Bamboo Proverbs.

Major principled issues are of course decided by a few elders, and the final resolution needs approval from the Ancestral Hall elders, but not all related detailed work can be done by them personally.

Fifty or more sorcerers from various sects were brought in by the Ancestral Hall to handle these complex matters.

From this, it can be seen that He Kao, as a Hidden Moth, mainly provided clues. He fled after two shots, and the real aftermath work required so many people busying themselves.

If it was just He Kao alone trying to confront the Huiming Shi Family head-on, he would likely be utterly crushed. But in front of the Ancestral Hall representing rightful authority, the Shi Family really has no chance to resist, which is the strength of the order system.

The Ancestral Hall of course has sufficient power, but there was not a single instance of magical combat in the process of handling the matter.

Over fifty sorcerers not only possess superb skills but also comprehensive professional knowledge, working overtime these days. Four elders also managed a small meeting to discuss how to reply to the Hidden Moth.

This time, the evidence clues were provided by the Hidden Moth, and the person could also be considered the most direct victim. After dealing with the Shi Family, whether to compensate or thank, there has to be some gesture towards the Hidden Moth.

As mentioned earlier, each item confiscated must have a karmic basis, including the Spirit Lock Array. The Spirit Lock Array wasn't crafted by the Shi Family, but an ancient inheritance from the Cangyun Lineage.

This array artifact consists of four pieces: the black Main Banner also known as the Spirit Lock Banner, and the Array Hub Banners in blue, yellow, and red, known as the Celestial Spirit Banner, Earth Spirit Banner, and Human Spirit Banner.

Once the Spirit Lock Array operates, it can imprison the surrounding world. Beyond the artifacts, the array inheritance is crucial, as having the items doesn't guarantee their use.

However, all parts of the array artifact are indispensable and the Earth Spirit Banner was taken by the Hidden Moth, rendering the Spirit Lock Array ineffective. Its value can't even be quantified monetarily, the Magic Sect would love to reclaim the Earth Spirit Banner but it's awkward to just have the Hidden Moth hand it over.

More embarrassingly, the Spirit Lock Array can limit the invisibility ability of the Hidden Moth, who also wouldn't want anyone to use it against them again, leaving the Ancestral Hall in a bind to ask for it back.

"Mr. or Mrs. Hidden Moth, since you've taken the Earth Spirit Banner, the Spirit Lock Array against you is useless now, please return it." — Unless someone's out of their mind, they probably wouldn't say something like that.

Gu Chun even specifically brought the remaining three banners, laid them on the table, leaving the elders watching with a furrowed brow.

The seemingly simplistic Elder Zong asked Kang Rulin, "Old Kang, you're an artifact refining master of the Magic Sect. Based on your knowledge, can we reforge an Earth Spirit Banner to restore the Spirit Lock Array completely?"

Kang Rulin originally didn't want to bring this up, but since the Second Elder pressed him, he had to answer, "Based on the artifact refining legacy of the Cangyun Lineage, including the refining insights of past Tier Seven or higher ancestors, it's theoretically possible to reforge.

But the Spirit Lock Array is refined as a unit, not just in terms of materials, but the entire refining process is interlinked, or it wouldn't form such an exquisite array.

Independently refining an Earth Spirit Banner isn't impossible theoretically, but it might not be as effective as the original, potentially affecting the array's operation and diminishing its power and many mystical uses."

Wild Phoenix: "You don't have to be so technical, just tell us, what's the cost of refining a completely replacing Earth Spirit Banner?"

Kang Rulin: "Though it doesn't compare to reforging an entire Spirit Lock Array, it's not much different, that's just how array artifacts are. What's more, the materials used to refine the Spirit Lock Array haven't been stored by the Magic Sect, whether they can be found depends on karma."

Gu Chun: "Oh, so you mean we must reclaim the Earth Spirit Banner? Then you'll be the one to represent the Ancestral Hall in requesting its return from the Hidden Moth.

As for compensation, many good things have been confiscated from the Shi Family, Elder Kang can decide on that too."

Kang Rulin hurriedly waved his hand: "That's not what I meant!"

Wild Phoenix: "Old Kang, you should take the lead on this; don't wait for us to decide."

Kang Rulin pondered, "My thought is, why not just give the Spirit Lock Array to the Hidden Moth. They've only taken the Earth Spirit Banner, which is useless alone, so we might as well give them the remaining three banners."
