Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 64: Reinforcements

Clang.

Su Ziyu casually twirled his sword, sheathing his Meteor with a cool and suave movement.

Anyone who has practiced swordsmanship knows a few flashy moves, the key is to determine whether it's used in combat or to teach others how to fight; if it's the latter, it's just misleading students.

Su Ziyu was now a typical pragmatic Demon Hunter, with no fondness for those flashy swordsmanship moves.

Swordsmanship is meant for killing people and monsters.

The swordsmanship that Mei Gao mastered was inherently good; strip away the flashy moves, and it becomes a truly powerful Swift Swordsmanship, but unfortunately, it's in the wrong hands.

Clap, clap, clap.

Soft applause echoed beside him, and Su Ziyu turned to see the Tree Spirit Queen - Avena, her peculiar silver eyes gleaming slightly, praised, "You are indeed a true Demon Hunter!"

Su Ziyu smiled without responding.

If it were Van Helsing, he would easily defeat Mei Gao after undergoing Vampire mutation; once an old Demon Hunter got within fifteen meters, that Elf Ranger was as good as dead.

A hint of respect appeared in others' eyes—a respect earned after showing strength—and Su Ziyu needed the speech power that this respect brought.

In the daytime.

The Tree Spirits began setting up defenses, making traps; though they might not necessarily be useful, as the enemy's strength was unclear, preparing more was beneficial.

Su Ziyu temporarily had nothing to do.

Next, they had to wait proactively for those Ghost Hunters to show themselves; he idly asked Adson if he could take a look at the Druid library, and after consulting the three elders, Adson said the Druids welcomed him to peruse those books.

It seemed they wanted to recruit Su Ziyu into the Path of Nature; having a Druid talent would be even better.

Finally.

Su Ziyu gritted his teeth and illuminated the 'Master of Language' ability with 4 Source Power Points.

The Druid library was on the third floor of the Tree Tower, a small library filled with a vast array of books, many of which were about herbal knowledge. Only a small portion were books regarding Druid cultivation, and it surprisingly contained some Warlock magic knowledge.

The entry of casters begins with meditation.

However, unlike Warlocks, Druids meditate to perceive the external natural world, whereas Warlocks meditate to sense their inner bloodline potential.

"Charm Enhancement insufficient."

"Unable to unlock Warlock-related skill tree!... Recording magic database!..."

"Intelligence Enhancement insufficient."

"Unable to unlock Mage-related skill tree!... Recording magic database!..."

As the Space-Time Monitor System constantly improved and Su Ziyu's Authority Level increased, more annotations were added.

"Perception Enhancement achieved."

"Unlocking Druid-related skill tree!... Recording magic database!..."

A branch extended from the Perception Enhancement skill tree, expanding directly into a complete skill tree, reaching up to the seventh-circle climate-changing magic documented in the files.

"Animal Companion: Transform an animal or Animal Spirit into your natural companion. Consumes 2 Source Power Points."

"Natural Knowledge: Gain more natural knowledge through the natural enlightenment ritual, able to accurately identify a vast majority of animals and plants. Consumes 2 Source Power Points."

"Divine Skill Awakening: Sense the great power of nature, awaken Druid's natural Divine Art. Consumes 2 Source Power Points."

Huh?

Su Ziyu curiously examined the newly unlocked Druid Enhanced Skill Tree; its three initial abilities were Animal Companion, Natural Knowledge, and Divine Skill Awakening, just like his initial Spiritual Energy route, Spiritual Awakening was sensing his inner potential, similarly a casting ability extended based on perception.

But Druid spells differ from Spiritual Energy; one senses the inner Spiritual Energy, and the other perceives the great power of nature.

The Druid extension route boasts a plethora of spells.

Yet their power seems unmatched against Spiritual Energy, more often being buff abilities; Druids possess various buffs, applicable to themselves or teammates.

Meanwhile, Druids can also shapeshift and possess numerous healing spells.

"It's a pity."

"My Source Power Points are simply insufficient." Su Ziyu shook his head, temporarily setting it aside.

Having illuminated the Master of Language ability, naturally, he aimed to record these books into the Space-Time Monitor System's database, as they might come in handy someday.

Too much to chew if greedy.

Normally, for a Druid to enter through meditation, it requires about three to five years; Su Ziyu didn't know when he'd complete natural enlightenment through self-training.

If Source Power Points were enough, Su Ziyu wouldn't mind enhancing a bit.

Currently, for the Druid Enhanced route to possess battle power, it requires at least twenty or thirty points of Source Power; such points could suffice to reinforce all the way to Telekinesis Flight.

"These healing spells are quite good." Su Ziyu mused as he glanced at the expanded skill tree.

The first day was very peaceful.

When Su Ziyu returned to the inn, the Tree Spirit Ranger Vera appeared seeking earnest guidance in combat.

Su Ziyu agreed gladly.

Given the Druids' generosity, he couldn't be stingy either; he also taught Vera the White Crow Swordsmanship, as the Tree Spirits' movements were quite agile and swift.

While having dinner, he didn't see that aloof Elf Ranger.

Upon casually inquiring, Su Ziyu learned he had quietly left during the daytime, possibly from face-saving or other reasons; the Druids didn't forcefully retain him.

The old Dwarf continued to engage Su Ziyu in card games.

Since there were no stakes, Su Ziyu graciously let the other win twice.

On that day, Tree Spirit Queen - Avena didn't personally invite him; instead, she had some sweet fruits delivered, tasting somewhat like mango, unknown what they were called.

Time passed day by day.

The Ring of Nature didn't spot those Ghost Hunters again; Su Ziyu was spending his days at the Tree Tower library, casually browsing materials and learning meditation.

The Unicorn's injuries were gradually healing.

If those Ghost Hunters hadn't appeared within the week, this Unicorn could open the Gate of Space and leave this world.

On the morning of the fifth day, the Ring of Nature received some unexpected visitors.

Upon hearing the news, Su Ziyu walked out from the Tree Tower; he approached smilingly at Van Helsing, who had a Dwarf Pipe in his mouth, and gave him a hug, asking, "Why are you here?"

"How could we let you fight alone!" Van Helsing laughed heartily, "Fancy a game of Gwent Cards?"

Behind Van Helsing was Lady Inid, who smiled as she approached, saying, "We are a team. Shared glory, shared loss."

Judith, Elena, Alice, Daisy, Lev, and others had come.

Except for Melissa needing recovery, some stayed at the City of Freedom; most of the high-tier combat strength was present.

Honestly, Su Ziyu felt quite moved.

For some reason, he suddenly recalled the days when he met Lina and Ken, remembering how desolate he felt lying at the cliff's bottom; now, his heart was filled with warmth.
