Traveler of the River of Time and Space

Chapter 26: Mechanical Atomist Pantheon 1

In front of him lay a field of corpses.

Almost all the enemies had been killed with a single strike, their wounds inflicted entirely by cold weapons.

Leon was extremely shocked. He found that he had underestimated Su Ziyu's ability; just the power Su Ziyu had displayed was enough for the Brotherhood to win him over at all costs.

He must report everything he saw today to the higher-ups.

When dealing with the creations of the Old Gods, Leon had directly fainted. He hadn't seen the subsequent battle and just assumed that Su Ziyu had used the power of a nuclear weapon to take out the Old God's creation. Previously, although Su Ziyu had shown some ability to control lightning, the Brotherhood had recently discovered some supernatural entities. After deep interactions with the Academy, they even learned about some superpower research projects.

The focus on Su Ziyu naturally waned a bit, and the Brotherhood was more curious about the superpower research within the Academy, as it represented a way to gain supernatural power.

Because this world possesses an Energy Level of 1, supernatural entities have always existed.

The earliest supernatural ability research projects could be traced back to the Cold War era. However, since the progress of this research was quite slow, it was once abandoned in the Old World era. After the great catastrophe erupted, the Academy also restarted the research, but so far there have been no significant results.

An Energy Level of 1 is still too low.

The currently discovered superpower users all have non-replicable abilities. Unless the energy level of the Wasteland World rises, the existence of supernatural power is difficult to significantly increase.

Leon also saw some scrapped exoskeleton power armors.

They hardly resisted at all, losing their ability to move immediately, and the people inside seemed to have been electrocuted, which made Leon realize how strong Su Ziyu's power was in restraining these exoskeleton power armors.

Pasha wasn't particularly surprised by what she saw in front of her.

Because she had watched everything unfold during the lightning storm, which was genuinely a fearsome power comparable to a divine miracle, she had never thought anyone could control a thunderstorm before.

This person was her man.

It felt like a dream.

The upcoming battles would be much easier, as Su Ziyu had taken out more than half of the elite members of the Wolf Gang by himself. The others either fled after seeing the dire situation or were shredded to pieces by the Brotherhood's gunmen. The so-called laser weapons were also found, but Su Ziyu appeared slightly disappointed upon seeing them. The design of those laser rifles was utterly uninspiring, roughly resembling half-finished products from a lab.

The front end of the laser rifle was a metal round head, and the rest was a silvery-white iron pipe, resembling a battery stripped of its casing. The front half looked like a...chicken, and the stock seemed to have been taken off some other weapon and reassembled. The end was composed of some kind of unknown yellow plastic, and it appeared as though the stock was something someone in the wasteland had modified and attached themselves.

The power was indeed okay.

Different from other weapons, it could directly fire laser beams, much more potent than conventional firearms, but still fell short of what Su Ziyu imagined. The gap between it and his Gauss sniper rifle was even more significant.

No need to change bullets, it used a special battery.

Apart from the laser rifles, they even captured gamma rifles and plasma rifles. The former could fire a radiation beam, while the latter could fire a ball of green plasma. They indeed looked like some black-tech stuff, but their power was much less than anticipated, and the craftsmanship was quite crude, mostly appearing to be semi-finished products.

"These are all things leaked from the Academy's internal conflict." Leon picked up a radiation rifle, weighed it, and then aimed it at the wall not far away to shoot a laser.

The research on these kinds of weapons was mostly incomplete.

There's a long way to go to reach the kind of laser weapons imagined by Su Ziyu in the interstellar era; their power is only about 50% stronger than conventional firearms, and the energy intensity of the laser is somewhat weak, probably not even capable of penetrating through exoskeleton power armors.

Currently, the practical value of these things isn't great.

The chaos in Polaris ended before dawn.

The Brotherhood's casualties were minimal, although Old Bill's militia suffered a little bit of losses. After regaining the military base, Pasha quickly re-established control over Polaris. She had been managing here for twelve whole years, and most people still leaned towards her. The Wolf Gang had gained this place by taking advantage, and they were not genuinely accepted by the residents of Polaris.

"Alice! Open the underground passage."

After the battle ended, Pasha led Su Ziyu straight to a secret passage at the military base, which seemed to not have been discovered by the enemy. When Pasha used her fingerprint to open a hidden door, the ceiling in front of them directly split open, revealing six automatically aimed heavy machine guns.

Combat robots.

The application of robots in the Wasteland World had long been spread, but they weren't humanoid combat robots, just some defense robots capable of automatic firing.

Humanoid robots require strong balance, computation, analysis capabilities, etc. There might be some in the labs of the Academy, while the conventional forces mostly controlled these defensive turret robots. Some settlements would install turret robots outside, which would open fire automatically upon enemy approach. Generally speaking, robots capable of moving autonomously were considered relatively advanced.
