Strongest Gangster System

Chapter 62: Magical Oath

Harold knew that Bellegrini hated the Lucas, and there was no way they would ever agree to take their money! Even if the Bellagrini were suffering from debt or they were about to lose their company, they would still not agree to take help from the Lucas! So how in the world was Dante going to make this work!?

Dante just waved his gun again when Harold asked him this question, and he told Harold not to worry about it. Harold's job was just to smile and look pretty for the Bellagrini, and he should leave the more precise details of the deal for Dante to handle. Harold looked down when he heard this, and he began to think. If Dante was really serious about this, then this could be a chance for Harold to finally make a name for himself. Harold hadn't come here just because he hated the Lucas or Dante! In fact, Harold didn't care about the Lucas family, and the only reason he had gone after Dante was because Dante was the easiest way to harm the Lucas family! So if Dante was giving Harold a chance to still make a name for himself while showing his family that he was more than capable of being a good businessman, then why shouldn't he take it? Harold's face squeezed even more as he thought about all this, and eventually, he looked up into Dante's eyes with an intense gaze.

Dante smiled when he saw the look in Harold's eyes, and his smile widened when Harold spoke.

"I'll do it. As long as you can guarantee that the Bellagrini won't find out that we're working together, then I'll gladly do it."

Dante nodded at Harold and finally stood up. That was the smartest choice to make, and Dante was glad that Harold wasn't a fool.

'But I need a way to keep him in line. He won't listen to what I tell him to do, just because I threaten him. And from what I've seen, his ability with Coercion is top-notch. I need to make sure that he never tries to go behind my back throughout the deal.'

This thought passed through Dante's mind and made him frown, but at the next moment, a new tab appeared from the system.

[The system suggests that the user carry out a [Magical Oath] with the exiled Rogue.]

Dante blinked in surprise at the new prompt, and he immediately asked what the fuck a Magical Oath was. The system brought up another tab with an explanation.

[A Magical Oath is a sacred contract that can be formed between two or more Djinn. It was developed by the very first generation of Djinn as a method of ensuring that all contracts and agreements were honored and that no one would be capable of backing out of an agreement without consequences. When activated, the Magical Oath binds itself to the magic of all those involved in the contract, and if anyone goes against the contents of the Oath, then they will be punished by Magic itself. The severity of the punishment is determined by the amount of damage caused by the person who goes against the contract. In lesser scenarios, the punishment could be something as simple as an intense headache that plagues you for a long time, but in more severe scenarios, it could be as damaging as the complete loss of all magical abilities.]

Dante hummed once he read through the system's message. This seemed like a good way to make sure that Harold would stay in line, and the fact that it was upheld by magic made it better. This way, Dante wouldn't even need to keep an eye on Harold at all. Harold would be watched by magic, and the moment Harold goes out of line, he would be punished. Dante turned to look at Harold and spoke in a calm tone.

"It's good that you understand how beneficial this could be to you, but you see, I still don't trust you as far as I can throw you, and I can't be sure you won't go against our agreement in the future, so we're going to swear a Magical Oath."

Harold's eyes widened in shock when he heard about this, and at this moment he finally realized that he wasn't dealing with something simple! Magical Oaths were a very hidden aspect of the twilight world, and only those who were in very old families or associations should know anything about it! Magical Oaths had been formed by the first generation of Djinn, and it was one of the only ways that a Djinn could lose their powers, so the families and associations made sure that no one outside their circles knew about it! The fact that Dante already knew what a Magical Oath was just told Harold that he had really messed with the wrong person! But although Harold was feeling the most shocked at that moment, neither Risa nor Fredrick could stop their own surprise from showing on their faces when they heard what Dante just said. Did he just mention Magic? What the hell was going on?

Risa still held her gun tightly, and she was watching Fredrick closely in case he tried to move, but her attention was completely on Dante and what he had just said! Risa still remembered Dante telling her about supernatural events earlier and how Philip should look out for anything strange, but Risa had been thinking that it was just some sort of code! Maybe by 'supernatural events' Dante was actually talking about freak storms or even earthquakes! But she could no longer live in denial after hearing what Dante just said! Dante was actually talking about Magic right now!? Fredrick also watched the two men with complete disbelief on his face, and from the look on Risa's face, he was sure that he wasn't the only one who was shocked. Fredrick watched as Dante put his hand out towards Harold and told Harold to take it, and Harold hesitated for a few seconds before he finally reached out and took Dante's hand in a firm handshake.

[In order to form a Magical Oath, all parties involved must form a link using their mana, and then the details of the oath should be recited. As long as all the parties are willingly entering into the agreement of their own free will, then the Magical Oath will form.]

'That shouldn't be too hard.'

This thought went through Dante's mind after he read through the system's instructions, and he felt as Harold's mana seeped out from his body and began to surround their hands. Dante felt for the strange energy that was inside him, and he slowly allowed it to flow out of his body the same way Harold had done. This was the first time Dante would be actively feeling his mana, and he could only describe it as a strange watery substance that filled his entire body and flowed like a river. Dante didn't need to struggle before he got control of his mana, and he made sure that his mana was stable before he spoke.

"We'll enter a contract where we will work together in order to take control of all the Bellagrini companies. I will possess ninety percent of the company, and you'll possess ten percent. But if you try to betray me or if you attempt to use your ability on any member of the Lucas family or its allies, then this deal will be broken and you will lose your magic."

Harold took in a deep breath when he heard the details of the deal. It sounded like a very one-sided deal, but Harold knew that this was the best deal he could possibly get out of this. He had just tried to take control of Dante's mind, so the fact that he wasn't dead now was a win as far as he was concerned. But now Dante was also giving him a chance to become his ally and still make a name for himself. Could he really expect anything better out of this? No, he couldn't. Harold looked up at Dante and nodded resolutely.

"I accept."

A strange connection formed between the two men as mana itself accepted their deal, and Dante nodded as he let go of Harold's hand and turned to Risa.

"Risa, could you get us some coffee. There's a lot we need to discuss. Fredrick, we'll need to draft a formal contract for the deal, so you need to help out with the legal details."

"Hold on for one damn minute! What the hell was all that!? Magical Oaths? Compulsion? Djinn!? What does it all mean!? What the hell aren't you telling me, Dante!?"

Fredrick finally spoke up in a harsh tone when he couldn't take the sudden developments anymore! Dante looked so nonchalant about all this, and Fredrick couldn't even wrap his head around what was going on! Fredrick's eyes bored into Dante with intensity, and Dante hummed calmly as he decided that he would need to give Fredrick a basic rundown of what the twilight world and Djinn were.
